There are only a handful of rental homes located within the town of Ohiopyle. We love this house because you don't have to drive back and forth to out of town lodging. Your group can be together but doing the separate activities that they enjoy. Everyone can meet up by foot for a hike, picnic, or swim in the river. Grandma and Grandpa will love being in the mix without having to drive back and forth for each activity. Our Grandparents sure do!
The House has two upstairs bedrooms. One has a Queen bed and a fold away twin bed. The second bedroom has a Queen on the bottom bunk bed.
Heart of Ohiopyle Vacation House is located IN Ohiopyle. Easy access to the Great Allegheny Passage Bike Trail, Youghiogheny River, Ohiopyle Waterfall, Falls Market Resturant, and miles of hiking/biking trails. It is located less than five miles from Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Casino is just up the road. This home has the ideal location for anyone wanting to experience all that Ohiopyle has to offer. The property is surrounded on two sides by state park forest. Enjoy a campfire and roast some marshmallows in our outdoor fire pit.
I have lived in Ohiopyle for over ten years. I have traveled the world but there is something special about this little town. The mountains and river here are always pull me back no matter how far away I roam. I met my husband here when we were both river guides in our early 20's. He is now a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Minnesota Twins AAA ball team in Rochester, NY so we are moving there temporarily.
Our second time here in 2016. Cozy and warm home. Nice kitchen for family fun. Our favorite is the outdoor fire pit. Great private lot.
We thought the house was great for our short stay (and we were sad it was so short!). It is right in town, but at the end of the road with woods to two sides. There were cute places to eat in town and the hikes were beautiful and it was a short drive to Falling Water. One small note: one person in my party was woken up multiple times at night by the freight trains that pass the town often. No one else noticed it, but maybe if you are a really light sleeper that would be a problem. Would definitely stay again!
Our biking group stays in Ohiopyle annually and this is the second time staying here. Location is great and beds are very comfortable especially after a long day of biking. Erin is easy to work with is always responsive. Easy walk to Falls City Pub for great selection of beer and great food.
We were looking for the perfect spot for a girl's weekend away, and we definitely found it at Heart of Ohiopyle! It is a beautiful, well cared for home. It is located in a dead end street in downtown Ohiopyle. So, you have the feeling of being a little bit secluded, while being within a short walking distance from the local restaurants, shops, bars, and of course the river! Also, the owner is very quick to respond and easy to work with.
We really could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay for our weekend getaway. We are definitely looking forward to future stays at the Heart of Ohiopyle!
The house was clean upon arrival. Location is on a quiet street. With not many choices right in Ohiopyle, this is the perfect location for biking, hiking, rafting, etc.
We had a fantastic stay! As far as I can tell, this is the only rentable house within the town of Ohiopyle, proper. Everything is walkable, which is especially nice when one attends the yearly Beer and Gear Festival nearby. Regarding the house itself, it's exactly what you want with an older property: character, but comfort. The A/C keeps the house cool, the kitchen is well-equipped, the beds are cozy, yet you still get a sense of a out-to-the-mountains escape.
Thanks for a great weekend, Erin!
