Get away from it all in my quiet and very private country home near Elkhart Lake, WI. You'll be minutes away from Road America, the scenic Kettle Moraine State Forest, great bike trails, the Sheboygan Marsh and lookout tower, a public beach, three world famous golf courses (two PGA Women's Open tournaments were held in nearby Kohler), a thriving nightclub scene, and some amazing restaurants.
One of the most picturesque cross country ski trails is only a few miles away, in Greenbush, where you'll find the trailhead to the northern Kettle Moraine State Forest. There are trails for beginning skiers and veterans alike.
A well-groomed snowmobile trail, the Northern Kettle Moraine - Corridor 3 - is even more convenient. You can sled to the trail right from our driveway, as it runs along the northern edge of our property, about a third of a mile from the house. .
My cozy three-bedroom home sits on a rural five-acre lot surrounded by 95 acres of fields and forests. There are only three other houses in the vicinity, and none of them are within shouting distance. The only creatures you'll see out the windows are deer, sandhill cranes, geese, turkeys and the occasional owl.
The house has three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, a three-car garage, a full basement with washer & dryer, fully equipped kitchen with granite counters, Dish TV, Keurig coffee maker, wireless Internet, digital keyboard, and an attractive loft overlooking the living room. It sleeps five very comfortably, and our three comfy sofas could accommodate a few more. If you have children, we'll set out some toys, games and books for them. Outside, there is plenty of space for walking, wildlife watching, or meditating. We'll cut firewood for you if you are interested in having a bonfire in our fire circle. Look out any window and you'll see nature's beauty.
I've posted a 90-second video about the house online. You can see here at the end of all my photos, or you can find it elsewhere by doing a video search for 'Rental House in Elkhart Lake.'
Come and visit. You won't find a quieter, more private place to stay for miles.
We're a farm family with a second home that doesn't get nearly enough use. My husband runs a dairy farm and I'm a librarian who teaches information literacy at a small college in Milwaukee.
I love hosting. I've met some great people in the two years we've been doing this. I like to meet my guests personally, and I always go out of my way to ensure they have a relaxing stay. We live just down the road, so if anything goes wrong, we can get there quickly.
Nanette Bulebosh purchased this house in 2006
Elkhart Lake is a fantastic vacation spot. Small-town friendliness meets cosmopolitan culture. Fantastic restaurants and night-club scene, quaint shops, beautiful lake and beaches, I've lived here 19 years and still love it as much as when I first moved here.
The house is sunny, spacious and, since it's only a little over 10 years old and hardly lived in, is in great condition. Beautiful oak wood throughout. Outside is even more space, not to mention peace and quiet. This is the place to go to if you are looking for privacy and enjoy an evening bonfire.
We found the house to be comfortable and well cared for. There were all of the comforts of home along with a quiet and private country setting. The property is conviently located in relation to the town of Elkhart Lake and Road America. Nannette is a gracious hostess and she provided us with some fudge from the local ice cream and snack shop. We recommend a trip to that place. We would definitely stay there again. Jim & Sharon
I rented this house with my daughter, her husband and their two adult children. The house was great! Nanette had everything you could possibly ask for and more. She graciously had juice, 1/2 & 1/2, eggs, beer, etc in the fridge. The cabinets had all types of food preparation materials and spices. The beds and sofas were very comfortable. The property was fantastic! Every morning we had two herons visit us in the front yard and lots of wildlife at night.
We have been taking vacations for many tears and rented many houses. this is by far the best one yet.
The house was perfect for our needs. It's just a few minutes north of Elkhart Lake and Road America. The owner was very hospitable and the house was immaculate.
This home was very convenient to Whistling Straits and Elkhart Lake restaurants. My husband and I stayed with my sister and one of her friends, both from TN, for the PGA tournament, and it worked perfectly for us. The beds are very comfortable with nice linens, also nice towels and soaps in the bathrooms, and very clean. The WI-FI was working fine, and we had a great time.
Nanette provided us with a lovely home to stay in while we went to the Elkhart Lake Road America Vintage Car races for the long weekend in July 2015. It was only 3 miles away from the track and the town of Elkhart Lake and very easy to locate.
We had a wonderful stay and Nanette left us with some nice extras. It was very clean and very nicely furnished. The Wi-Fi was acting up and that was a bit of a disappointment.
We really enjoyed staying in this house provided by Nanette. It fit our needs perfectly! We had 4 adults and 2 dogs. Nanette had left very nice special treats for us and came to meet us the morning after we arrived. It was super close to the Elkhart Lake Road America and took us no time at all to make the trek into the track and also into the city of Elkhart Lake. The Wi-Fi system was not really working well so that was disappointing.
