Hi There I've been a Victoria resident for 31 years this August. In that time I have lived in James Bay for the last 17years. I love the location with it's proximity to the ocean and downtown. I'm a building contractor and Licensed Realtor - building more than 65 homes in James Bay alone. In 1999 I built a Bed & Breakfast, which I then ran for four years - cooking, cleaning and meeting some of the worlds most interesting people. This vacation rental property is another adventure. I love meeting people and helping them to enjoy our wonderful city. I recently opened my own real estate office in James Bay as well.
Mark Imhoff purchased this condo in 2010
Coming to Victoria to purchase a home? You are welcome to stay at this property while I help you find your dream home.
I chose this property for it's location. Victoria is known for it heritage. I bought the dilapidated property in 2008 and embarked on the expensive proposition of completely renovating the home and grounds. The property has a unique zoning which allows us to rent to vacationers. Victoria has much to offer for a traveler to do and experience. With this comfortable and well situated home, you can walk to see it all !
It's at your door step: Ocean, Harbour, Land Tours, Water Tours, Ocean Life Tours, Air Tours, Fishing, Restaurants, Museums, Theatre, Sports Arena, Night Life, and Victoria's many festivals. They are all only minutes away from your luxury lodging - and you can walk to them all.
Very nice fully equipped centrally located condo. Walking distance to everything. Beautiful place to stay. Perfect for the five people in our group.
This property is in a great location but we had difficulty upon arrival getting access to it as we were given an incorrect key code and no number to contact. We had to contact VRBO and they provided the local contact number. The place is roomy with a lot of light and good amenities. It needs paint, and some new window cranks and blind pulls; the French doors in the back do not lock. A few more basic condiments in the kitchen would be desirable, too. The property is very close to the wharf and conference center which it made out stay comfortable.
House was very comfortable, in a good location (about a 10 minute walk to the Royal BC museum, Fisherman's Wharf, and more). It was very clean and well stocked (extra linens and paper supplies, coffee, tea, etc.) The restaurant next door had really good food and coffee/pastry takeout with really nice staff. The owner was nice and flexible especially given our last minute rental. Kitchen and laundry were good, beds were comfortable (fold-out couch was as comfortable as fold-out couches get). Only complaints are quite minor - the knives were dull, making cooking a bit hard, the wifi didn't work in the bedroom (only the living room) the glass coffee and end tables and tall pub table weren't great for little kids, and there was a broken blind and a missing towel bar. Overall, it was as described, clean and comfortable, and we would definitely consider staying there again. One odd thing: the photo in the listing isn't of the rental house.
My friends and I stayed here during the Victoria marathon and a girls getaway. It was perfect for 5 adults! Clean, extremely spacious, and awesome location. It's about a 5-10 minute walk to downtown. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. Comfy beds.
We had some difficulties learning how to lock the doors, but the property managers were readily available to resolve the issue.
The front room can be a tad bit noisy with passing traffic, but it wasn't a bother to any of us.
We would definitely return to stay in this unit.
Charming, comfortable, we loved staying here. It felt like home. All we talked about was how this home and the area made us want to move. Great place and the power is kind and was there for us when we had questions.
We stayed for 12 days and enjoyed the house very much. Checkin was a breeze, The house was clean and comfortable. It is showing signs of wear and tear - the towel bar kept falling off, the walls could use some touch ups, and the fridge door didn't close properly, but on the whole it's a wonderful place to stay. Regarding previous noise complaints, hey, you're in downtown Victoria, not the countryside, come on! If you keep the windows mostly closed during busiest times it's very quiet. The house was well-equipped and the in-suite laundry was awesome !!
Anthing you can do on the water we have it here. Victoria and Vancouver Island are spectacular with there geographic location. There is an abundance of local tours to get you excited. Hot Springs Cove, Mount Washington, Statacona Park, Goldstream Salmon Run, Tofino, Ucluelet and Long Beach, Parksville Sand Castle competition and endless beaches, Catherdral Grove, West Coast Trail, Jaun De Fuca Trail, Salmon and Halibut Fishing.
