The Wind River cuts through the spectacular Wind River Canyon just south of town, offering rafting and fishing adventures, and nearby mountains offer horseback riding, biking, and hiking. Just outside of town is the Wyoming Dinosaur Center and a daily dig site tour. My husband and I both work and enjoy spending time in Thermopolis to soak and relax.
The Owner purchased this house in 2007
Thermopolis is within driving distance from our home. We have vacationed here for many years. Soaking in the hot springs has been a joy in our lives. We always feel rejuvenated from the mineral hot springs.
We had a great week. Amanda did well at the Dinosaur museum, and they even asked her to come back as an intern next summer! Not sure how I will pay for that, but I'm going to try and figure out a way.
We loved staying in your house.
We had an excellent vacation in Thermopolis.
Excellent experience for the end of October - first part of November. The cottage provided all of the furnished necessities with an added flair of interesting artistic interior design. Also, lots of hot water and a good gas heater kept us warm. It was quiet and located a block from grocery shopping and nearby were varieties of restaurants/fast food services. The friendly town of Thermopolis has a beautiful view from all directions: a great place for hunting, fishing, hiking, and soaking in the natural thermal springs located a few miles from the cottage in the state park.
The home is in a good location. You can walk to the downtown and the Hot Springs. The home is well stocked with all the necessities. Rooms are good size. Kitchen is small but workable. The bed is very comfortable, high quality linens, and extra fluffy soft towels. The owner is quick to respond to any questions or issues.
My wife and I were exploring Wyoming, and South Dakota, by motorcycle for our honeymoon trip. We chose this house for our stay in Thermopolis. It was an excellent choice. The living room was good size as was the bedroom. The kitchen was small as well as the bathroom but that didn't matter, the house was better than a hotel room and we were able to rest and relax there with a we are home feeling to the place. We were within walking distance of stores and restaurants, and a short ride from the hot springs, dinosaur museum, dairy land ice cream, and roaming buffalo. The house was clean and neat.
Being on a motorcycle I appreciated the covered carport but the parking surface was gravel which isn't the best for a motorcycle but we made it work. Loved all the plants and flowers in the front yard too. I would stay there again.
Rented this little house as a place to stay while Mom in rehabilitation. Unfortunately, she was not transferred until the day I left. Had things worked out like it was supposed to, a great accommodation to come and go and feel at home. Very clean and the bed comfortable.
Overall the property was great for our needs. 3 of us stayed over the holidays. Much better than staying at hotel. The house is small but functional and well maintained. The back yard was perfect for the dogs to go out. Bed was comfy (too comfy some mornings). Loved the extra heater in the bathroom (great when you get out of a shower to warm room). Anything and everything you need to cook, clean or have a good stay could be found in this house. Perfect get away home.
Okay, the house was advertised as an Artist/Writers Retreat, and even though we are both writers we selected Thermop because of the hot springs. One small problem is that Thermopolis and the surrounding area have a lot of interesting detours off the writing path! Our winter month-long stay was nice, and the house, though smallish, was a bit larger than we thought it would be—and it has a great, comfortable feel. It is centrally located, yet on a quiet street. Friendly folks abound, as do deer and things to do. We will leave with fond feelings for the house, its owners, and the town. Might we return? Don’t be surprised. Oh, and we did get some work done on a screenplay, a novel and a magazine article with a deadline!
