This beautiful, newly renovated 1000 sq. ft. 2.5 bedroom apt. with central air conditioning is on the top floor of a historic house on a landmarked block. It has a private entrance, and windows that face a charming brick paved street. It is furnished with a queen sleigh bed, full antique bed and twin iron daybed with trundle, accommodating up to 4 adult guests and 2 children.

There is a flat-screen TV, an iPhone/iPod docking station/alarm clock, a dining table with 6 chairs, a spacious, windowed kitchen that comes equipped with a brand new Bosch dishwasher, filtered water dispenser, coffeemaker, food processor, blender, 3-burner cook-top, stove, microwave, refrigerator and all the bakeware, cookware, and utensils you will need. There is also a large capacity Electrolux washer/dryer for your use.

There is a writing desk there for your convenience, as well as high speed wireless internet (WiFi) access.

  • The master bedroom is quite large and has an adjoining semi-private nook room that houses a twin-sized daybed and pull-out trundle. This would be great room for a couple and their kids. In addition, there is a cozy 'cottage' bedroom off of the master bedroom, and that had a full bed, which would sleep 2 people. Please note that the apartment accommodates 4 adults and 2 children.

This is a brand new renovation as of May 1, 2011 -- everything is brand new in the apartment! You will have everything you need to cook up a storm in the newly renovated kitchen. In addition, there is a large grocery store one and a half blocks walk from the apartment. Please note that this is a non-smoking apartment. No smoking is permissible in the living or public areas.

Lovely place to stay right off the L train

This place was clean, well decorated and maintained, and fully stocked. The managers were incredibly helpful when I thought I forgot my glasses in the house after checkout. It was VERY easy to get anywhere in Manhattan from this house, so it great for tourists. There is also a decent little grocery market only 2 blocks from the house, so if you plan to save money and use the kitchen during your stay, you will have no problem. Variety Coffee is right near the L train stop and it is EXCELLENT; I highly recommend. The neighborhood is relatively quiet.

Things to consider: It takes a while to get anywhere in NYC, so if you are thinking you might be able to just pop on back to the house for a quick bite you are probably deluding yourself.

If you have someplace to be in Queens (which we did) there is no easy train to take from this location. You will have to ride buses or hop an Uber. All of the bedrooms are connected so you have to walk through other people's space to use the one bathroom. If you are a privacy nut and you are travelling with a lot of people this may not be the place for you. If you are just traveling with a significant other or you are not bothered by connected sleeping arrangements, then this place is perfect. All in all, I highly recommend!

Great location & retreat from chaos....

This apartment was located in a quiet neighborhood which we enjoyed each time we returned from the hustle & fast pace of the City. The manager and owner were very attentive to our special requests and we will be sure to check for vacancy on our next trip to the Big Apple!

Lovely apartment in Rigewood, NY

Perfect weekend getaway to NYC ! Loved the place. It was nice to wind down there after a hectic day in the city. The apartment is located just a few blocks from the subway in a quiet neighborhood. There is a grocery store right down the street where we were able to pick up everything we needed. The apartment did not disappoint. I would definitely stay there again.

Great place, clean, and fully stocked

This is the perfect place to stay. Our family of 2 adults and 4 kids were very comfortable. We felt safe walking to and from the metro. The market was so nice and close and we were able to find parking easily on the street.

Quick responses from the owner/management if we needed anything. We would definitely stay again!!

Great place for small family!

Very nice property located in a nice neighborhood in Brooklyn.

Just a few minutes walk to the subway and then close to Manhattan. We did not spend much time in the apartment but when we did we had a TV with Netflix access so we watched a couple of movies.

Kitchen was fully complete.

Bathroom is a little small but has what you need.

With 2 teenagers it was also nice for them to have their own room. The fact that you had to walk through the rooms to reach another leaves very little privacy but that was a minor inconvenience.

We had a great time.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your thoughtful response! So glad to hear you enjoyed your stay in the apartment. For future guests, we thought it would be helpful to understand the layout of the bedrooms.The master bedroom is furnished with a queen bed. There is a half-bedroom directly off of the master bedroom which is furnished with a twin daybed (and an additional twin pop-up trundle if needed). The half-bedroom has two doors—one leads to the living room/kitchen/bathroom and the other is a double set of pocket doors which closes off the space from the master bedroom for privacy when sleeping. There is also a second bedroom, furnished with a full bed. This room has two entrances—one door leads to the exterior private hallway (no other apartments utilize this hall) and the second door is a pocket door which leads to the master bedroom. Since the hallway is private, anyone staying in this second bedroom can access the bathroom and living areas without passing through any other bedroom. Again, we really appreciate you staying with us and your kind words about the apartment!

Car: not necessary

Straddling the neighborhoods of Bushwick, Brooklyn and Ridgewood, Queens, the apartment is 5 blocks away from the Dekalb Street 'L' train station in Brooklyn—one of the best subway lines in the city. Union Square, the heart of downtown Manhattan, is only 15 minutes away via a direct subway ride; Williamsburg, Brooklyn's stylish boutiques, bars and restaurants are only a 7 minute train ride away.

Ours is a quieter, more residential neighborhood, but it is in an exciting stage of growth. In the last 5 years there has been a huge influx of artists and creatives in our immediate area. As a result, there is now a solid (and rapidly growing) number of stylish cafes, restaurants, wine bars, art galleries, yoga studios, and a great 24-hour gourmet/organic grocery store all within a 10-12 minute walk from the apartment. There are also local Italian bakeries, Halal butcher shops, Equadorian bodegas, Polish food markets and the best tasting Mexican tamales we've ever come across. All relevant information can be found in our Guest Welcome binder in the apartment and we hope that you will explore these local gems during your visit.
