About the property

3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house on the beach

3 Bedroom Beach House near Bay City State Park

This beach house has over 1900 sq. ft. of living space on one of the best beaches in Mid Michigan. The homes first floor has a spacious living area, fully equipped kitchen (all appliances, pots, pans, dishes, eating utensils, etc.), one bedroom (queen sized), and a full bath (both with tub/shower combinations). The living room includes a queen size sofa/sleeper and a table with seating for four in front of the fireplace. The upstairs has two bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with three twin beds), one full bath with each bedroom having a private entrance to the bathroom without leaving your room.

In the summer, families can enjoy the warm water to kayak, stand up paddleboard, sail the Sun Fish or Hobi Cat, fish (from shore, row boat or nearby lagoon), or just enjoy the private sandy beach and relax in the hammock, sit by a campfire in the fire pit or bicycle on the rail trail. Bring your own power boat to keep in the boat hoist. All of these are included at no extra cost.

Outdoorsmen can enjoy nature. We are located one mile North of the Bay City State Park, where you can walk or ride the nature trails, check out the displays at the Visitor's Center, and children can enjoy the new spray park. Even closer is the Tobico Marsh area. It has a walking trail that has several bridges and two 30 foot observation towers. The marsh it's self has many different kinds of wild life, including active beaver dens. The paved rail trail that runs from this house all the way around Bay City. Roundtrip is a 24 mile ride, but riding downtown is only about 6 miles where you can enjoy many local restaurants.

For those who like to fish you can find walleye, perch, northern pike, and bass throughout the Bay. The Saginaw Bay is known for excellent walleye fishing. We are conveniently located half way between the DNR boat launch on the Saginaw River and the boat launch at Linwood Beach Marina, both are just 15 minutes away. There is fishing year round, but the walleye fishing gets going with the first warm weather in the spring. In the winter, the Saginaw Bay lights up like a small city at night when the ice fishermen start up their machines to go home for the night. Duck hunters, we are conveniently located just 20 minutes South of Nayanquing Point and just 45 minutes from both Fish Point and the Shiawassee Flats State game areas. Winter activities include a seven mile, groomed cross country ski trail right out the front door and snowmobiling, ice fishing, and ice skating on the Saginaw Bay.

The property is located just two hours North of Detroit off I-75, only 45 minutes north of Birch Run’s outlet mall, and only 10 minutes from the Bay City Mall.

Make sure to check out the links to activities in the area.

About Randy Swartz

We love this area so much that we moved here ourselves over 10 years ago.

Randy Swartz purchased this house in 2013

Why Randy Swartz chose Michigan

The homes for sale in this small stretch of beach is very limited. Many are passed down from generation to generation and never make it to the market. Others are sold before hitting the market. That's the case with this house. When we learned the neighbors were thinking about selling it, we bought it from them before it reached the market. The neighborhood is transitioning from summer time cottages to year around living to showcase homes.

Wet but Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

It is hard to imagine getting nearly 10 inches of rain during our 7 day stay and still having a great time. Even the wettest of days had a break where we and the grandkids could get more than enough time on the beach and in the water. When it was raining, we took advantage of the nearby Mid Michigan Children's Museum and the Bay City State Park nature center. We took in the Midwest League All Star game and a Loons baseball game at Dow Diamond as well. The weather did short us on fishing opportunities but we managed to make it out once.

We are looking forward to staying there again next year!!!

A Lovely Place for our Family Get Together!

  • 5 of 5

We were blessed with the ability to get together with family from Indiana and the NC OBX to celebrate my mom's birthday and for my NC family to meet our son for the first time....and this was the perfect house to make that even more special!

The size was perfect for 5 adults and 2 children. We utilized the kitchen for meals and found every type of utensil, serving dish, etc we needed (even a crock pot!). The views are stunning and if there hadn't been several inches of snow we would have spent time outside enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

Very thankful we found this house!

Great relaxing weekend

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for our group of 6 adults. We had perfect weather and were able to enjoy the many toys available for us to use. The kayaks, small sail boat and bicycles all in good shape and ready to use.

Beautiful area with much to see and do, quiet neighborhood for the right amount of privacy.

Randy and his wife were great and stopped by for a small chat to see how everything was going. This will be a spot to visit again.

Well Maintained, Well Equipped

  • 5 of 5

We had an outstanding week at this property - the pictures provided in the add were an accurate representation of what we enjoyed. The kitchen had everything the wife needed for meal prep and the place was spotless.

The rental included kayaks, bicycles and paddle boards - all of which were newer models. The boat lift perfectly handled my 18' boat that we brought and it was a short ride to some decent perch fishing.

The water was beautiful and warm and our grandkids played in it from sun up to sundown. We also had the good fortune to be there during a full moon. The moon rise over the Bay was spectacular.

This rental is adjacent to the Tobico Marsh and its nearly 4 miles of well maintained (partially paved) trails that I hiked, my wife and daughter biked and my son ran. We saw lots of wildlife - deer, snapping turtles, pileated woodpecker, eagle and many different marsh birds.

We did have one day of heavy rain so we made a 5 minute drive the Bay City State Park Nature Center and introduced our grandkids to the many wonderful exhibits - they had a ball (Grandma took them to the gift shop!!!)

We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this property
