Step through your patio door, reach into the full-sized refrigerator, and grab the drink of your choice. You'll be back on the deck in seconds without missing a thing. Since this is my home away from home, the furnishings and amenities are designed for comfort and convenience during an extended stay. The full kitchen is appointed with granite counters, cooktop, microwave, dishwasher, oven, full refrigerator with icemaker, toaster oven and coffee maker. The dining table easily expands to accommodate from 4 to 6 people.

The beds are very comfortable. Soft Egyptian cotton sheets cover the King-sized bed in the master, and twin beds in the guest room. Master bathroom has double sinks and a glass-enclosed tub/shower. The guest bathroom has an over-sized walk-in shower. A full supply of towels includes sumptuous beach towels.

You can be as busy, or as lazy, as you wish. Because of the ease of shore diving off our private beach, there's no need to rush to catch an early morning dive boat. A full-service dive shop affiliated with Buddy Dive is available 300 meters south at Belmar. We have a great house reef, with no dive buoy. That means no dive boats tying up and no gang of divers.

About The Owner

My name is Jan. After 30 years as a Periodontist in the Dallas area, I have finally retired. Even with more free time, I'm still not able to get to Bonaire as often as I would like. I enjoy sharing my passion for Bonaire with fellow travelers and love to hear their feedback about fun times on the island.

My open water dive certification was in 1997. I was looking for a safe dive location for my first trip and accidentally discovered Bonaire. It was love at first sight, and I've been coming back at least once a year since then.

I started looking at real estate sites many years ago, but I'm pretty picky. At first it was more like day-dreaming, but it kinda took on an obsession quality after awhile. It just took a long time to find that 'just right' spot.

I feel very lucky to have this place, and am excited about sharing the experience with others. My hope is that those who stay here enjoy it as much as I do.

Why The Owner chose Belnem

The reason I chose Bellevue #3? LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!

After lurking on the real estate websites of Bonaire for years, the pre-construction sales notice for Bellevue came up.

It's such a perfect place. Close to town, but away from the crowds. The Belnem area offers great ocean access. Bellevue even has a beach, which is unusual for Bonaire. I don't have to walk across the street to be in the ocean. I have direct access to the real ocean, not a canal or back-water area.

My preference is being on the ground floor. Bellevue #3 allows me to walk right off my patio onto the oceanfront deck. Now that I'm not 16 years old anymore, my knees are not happy about going up and down steps. I like to be able to go straight in and out of the apartment without steps or an elevator. That's really helpful when I forget my mask, or want a refill, or just want to wander out and meet folks at the pool. The shallow lounge pool is particularly nice as a congregation spot in the evening. Lots of good fish stories.

By buying during pre-construction, I was able to add an A/C unit in the living room, and get the comfortable furniture I wanted. I don't often use that A/C unit because we leave things open to the sea breeze. Still, it's nice to have when we want it.

What makes this condo unique

The best part of staying at Bellevue #3 is forgetting what day it is. I can be connected if I want, but prefer to let the rest of the world get along without me. We can catch some sun on the deck, nap on the patio lounge chairs, do as many (or as few) dives a day as we want.

It's been fun having the privacy we want, when we want it. It's also fun being able to walk off the patio and strike up a conversation with folks from all over the world. Because Bellevue is a small community, we see repeat renters and owners mingling on the deck and enjoying stories of the great dives and creatures we've seen.

It doesn't get any better than that!

June 2017 Bellevue #3

Party of 4, with 3 divers, stayed at Bellevue #3 in June 2017. We were using Dive Friends Bonaire for tanks and weights, so the Port Bonaire location is just down the road.

Two bedrooms, each has bathroom, one with King bed and the other two beds. A/C worked very well in the bedrooms, the living room A/C kept the LR and Kitchen comfortable. Ground floor location was convenient for access to rinse tanks, gear locker, pool, and shore diving right down the steps. This is the best feature for this property. Parking is just off of the street, no enclosed or gated lot here. Proximity to the road was one of only two concerns with this property due to the noise, particularly early in the morning. (Nothing that the owner or manager can do about this issue) The other issue is that all four of us considered the beds to be hard. I would recommend that the owner add toppers to the beds to address this only other concern. This property is close to the airport and therefore the southern dive sites. The dock adjacent to the property is posted as no trespassing, apparently belonging to the adjacent property owner. Internet worked fine all week for us, we did not turn on the TV. Mid-week maid service was included but we passed this trip due to previous bad experience with Bonaire cleaners. Other than the two concerns noted above, this was a great week and a great location.

Very nice condo

We enjoy our stay this year more than any previous years. The view is exceptional, nice beach, close to all downtown attractions and supermarkets, but yet secluded. Top notch security. Thank you, Jan!

Beautiful and comfortable property

What can I say? I still have the ocean view ingrained in my mind. Fantastic location, unbelievable view, very confortable, clean and spacious condo. An efficient and friendly service from the rental manager: we had an issue with the safe and she came promptly to fix it. The breezeway front door brings a bit of the outside noise and the guest bedroom at the front is not a quiet room. But that didn't bother too much my son who slept there. A minor inconvenience not worth removing a star for it. We loved this rental property and would like to be back.

Beautiful ocean front property

We stayed in Bonaire for two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rental unit is located on the water and has a beautiful view of the ocean and sunsets. The outdoor lounge area is a nice space to sit and read a book while listening to the waves crash onto the shoreline. The property does have some beach front, but the amount of exposed sandy beach varies daily. We snorkeled right outside the unit but did not see too many coral or fish out there. The rinse station, storage locker for SCUBA gear, and outdoor shower were great amenities to have and made rinsing and drying our gear very easy.

The unit itself is a nice space and includes in-house laundry. The bedroom is spacious and the king sized bed is quite comfortable. The kitchen includes a dish washer, but be aware that you need to provide your own dish soap for the length of your stay, as well as toilet paper, and laundry detergent. However, the rental does include a local cell phone with pre-loaded minutes, which allowed us to call the airport to track down our lost baggage. Be aware that the AC units only turn on at night and that power outages are relatively common (luckily ours didn't last long enough to cause any food spoilage). The TV signal isn't great and jumps around / freezes fairly often. The internet can be a bit finicky as well - some days it worked great, other times, not so much. All in all though, these are all minor points since we weren't there to sit inside and watch TV, but rather to enjoy Bonaire itself. Bonaire is a wonderful place with lots of great shore diving, snorkeling, and friendly people. I would definitely stay at Jan's place again in the future.

Thanks to you, I've instructed my local manager to monitor and replenish the detergent and toilet paper supply. Electricity in the Caribbean can be a little spotty sometimes, affecting tv and internet function. Luckily this has improved in the last few years. I'm curious about your comment regarding the AC only coming on at night. Each AC unit has a remote to turn it on or off at will. There is no regulator to dictate the timing. For conservation purposes guests are only encouraged to turn off AC when they are not in the condo, or not using the rooms. I'd be interested in a clarification if you had trouble operating the remotes. I'm glad you took advantage of the view and I look forward to hosting you again. Best regards, Jan

Wonderful Location/Wonderful Condo

My wife and I decided to make a quick trip down to Bonaire for a week and, though we usually stay at Belmar, we decided to try Bellevue, since we had admired the location for several years... we couldn't have been happier with our decision. First, the condo is wonderfully stocked and makes eating in a breeze (unlike a lot of vacationers, my wife and I love to shop on-island for our week's food and cook for ourselves). The bedrooms were very comfortable and the unit stays nice an cool during the day. The patio is quite comfortable and the sun shade makes it usable all day long. My wife and I are divers, so the storage facilities and house reef were an added bonus. Sunbelt Realty was an absolute gem to work with in renting at Bellevue (Thank you Kittie!!!) and helps us arrange car rental (Caribe Car Rental... Absolutely wonderful) and diving (Dive Friends were simply wonderful people, consistent Nitrox fills and ample facilities to swap tanks). Overall, I would highly recommend this unit to anyone considering a holiday on Bonaire!!
