Carpe Diem, “La casa piú piccola di Burlington,” is a charming tiny cottage with an expansive view of Lake Champlain all day, and of its wonderful extended sunsets at day’s end. At 13 ft. x 18.6 ft., Carpe Diem is about three times the size of the main cabin on a 70-foot sailboat cruising by on the lake below you and includes radiant heat flooring, a fully equipped kitchen, full size bed, private bath and a garden at your doorstep.

This converted historic garage stands apart from the main house, and offers the same knowledgeable, friendly hospitality that has made One Of A Kind B+B true to its name and a constantly popular Burlington homestay.

This restored and restorative retreat is available for day, weekend, week-long or month-to-month stays.

Extended stay rates on request.

The view from the charming cottage is spectacular

  • 5 of 5

Attention to detail was not missed. Upon arrival we found a lovely note from Maggie. The cottage had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The delicious granola, yogurt, fresh fruit and fresh ground coffee was very much appreciated. The garden was simply beautiful, we enjoyed our coffee in the mornings looking out over Lake Champlain. The town of Burlington was fun to explore. We strolled the large farmers market and sampled the best local hot sauces and dumplings in town. There are many wonderful restaurants to dine out or enjoy a quite dinner at the cottage. It was the ideal spot for my husband and me to celebrate our 30th anniversary.

Thank you Maggie, you are the most gracious host. We truly hope to return again!

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

This tiny house is perfect for a couple, with views beyond compare. It is an easy walk to downtown Burlington for dinner or entertainment. The only thing that keeps me from going on with more compliments is my fear that we will have trouble booking the cottage next year.

Owner's Response: To riff off an old adage....Book early, visit often! So much to do in our fair city from staring off into the void of the lake and mountains, to eating and imbibing in our good local food and drink scene, to being entertained by the ever-changing music and performance venues...not to mention the hiking, biking, sailing, kayaking nearby! Thank you for your kind acknowledgement. Safe travels, always!

Tiny and comfortable for 2. Great location, walking distance to shopping and restaurants and the waterfront. Spectacular view of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. Great outdoor space for cocktails and sunset or morning coffee. Quiet neighborhood. We will return!

Beautiful View, Amazing Location!

  • 5 of 5

The Cottage at Lake Champlain was perfect for us to celebrate our one year anniversary. Walking distance to Church Street and all the amazing restaurants and just a short drive away from many breweries and wineries. The Cottage is equipped with everything you need during your stay, even a small kitchen with a fridge to stock up on your snacks and beverages. Maggie provided us with coffee and some delicious fruits & yogurts to start our stay. She was very knowledgeable about the area and we appreciated her recommendations. The view from the cottage is stunning and the bike bath was great for our daily runs. You won't be disappointed staying at Maggie's cottage!

everything one might need was tastefully included in Carpe Diem, a tiny house overlooking Lake Champlain. The views from the back yard were spectacular, and the location was walking distance to downtown and the waterfront. Thank you, Maggie, for the warm welcome and attention.
