We live in the midwest
Bill Fauntleroy purchased this house in 2011
We enjoy walking to the beach and places close by. And we like low traffic, higher end neighborhoods where our kids can walk or bike ride and feel safe
You can be spontaneous here. It is only a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, food, coffee, the spa, golf, tennis, or a happy hour cocktail with friends by the sea.
We had a fabulous time at this house. The pictures may describe its beauty, but they cannot describe how warm and cozy the house really is. There is a certain intangible to this house which, to us, made the difference between having a good vacation to a great vacation in Naples.
The location is terrific. A) About 1/3 of a mile from the beach. An easy walk or a quick bike ride away. There’s a cart to carry blankets, towels, etc., which eliminates the need to drive and deal with parking. B) Less than a mile from town. Short enough to enjoy a 6 minute bike ride. We only went to town by bike. There are bike lanes and very little traffic on most streets and avenues. C) Less than 2 miles from the Naples pier –a very pleasant bike ride as well. We also walked there along the beach. D) About 1/2 mile from the Naples Golf & Tennis Resort. Very convenient if you want a snack or as cold drink while on the beach, without going back to the house. E) Less than 10 minutes to several malls. All this made for a truly relaxing time.
The house is great. We especially loved the Apple TV, king size bed, WiFi, and terra cotta floors. Layout is very convenient. One floor. Simple entry and exit. Privacy. Little street traffic. The second bedroom is great for guests. It had a ceiling fan and a great tv as well. The kitchen is superb. Grill is new and easy to use. The house was a great place to return to after the beach, a long walk, riding your bike, or shopping…..just shower, flop on the couch and relax to music or tv until dinner. What a great life! There’s plenty of room for kids to play, teenagers to hang out, or to entertain. For those who have work to do, there is a huge dining room table right there that you can use as a desk --you won’t be away from the action.
The owner. The house was under-construction in 2011; and there was a chance that the end product would not turn out as advertised. However, the house fulfilled or exceeded our expectations in every way. Clean. Neat. Tasteful. The owner is honest, and very pleasant to work with. I consider him a friend for all he did to make sure our stay was enjoyable. I believe he really wanted us to have a great time.
Unadvertised gems…..the outside shower. Sunsets on the beach -- so close to the house…. The owner supplies bicycles , sporting equipment, beach chairs, umbrella, etc…..Swimming in the gulf is fantastic….Bring your fishing rod…A/C is great too….
In short, the house is ideal for a family vacation in Naples.
We stayed for 2 weeks in Feb 12 and had a great experience. Perfect for families of any age - but particularly if you have young kids (we had a 3 year old) as there is NO POOL (which in our situation was a good thing). House is very nice/clean and has been updated with all the necessary amenities - all in a quiet area only 3 blocks away from the beach. Bill has provided everything a family needs (grill deck, table/chairs, loungers for outdoor living at the house) as well as bikes, tennis rackets, beach chairs, beach toys, beach totes (with wheels) to enable a family to really "set up shop" and enjoy a relaxing beach-based vacation experience.
If you wanted to spend a week in Naples and avoid the expensive restaurant scene entirely - a family could comfortably do so here. Of course, if you do want to step-out, the Naples Beach/Tennis Club is a short walk (north) away - while the 5th Ave shops/restaurants (to the south) are easily accessible by foot or bike. We walked to town every morning on the beach (kids loved to see Dolphins in the surf quite close to shore). Owner (Bill) is courteous and very responsive to any questions/inquiries. I would highly recommend this home - we plan on returning.
If you like renting a place where you instantly feel at home then this is the place for you. This is an "old Florida" style home with a lot of character and a great open feel. It has been updated while maintaining much of the look and feel of it's era. We enjoyed the modern additions like the large flat screen TV with surround sound in the living room and the TV's in the bedrooms (except the kids bunkroom) The decor is comfortable, I have rented places where I was afraid to touch anything. The cart with chairs in the shed makes it easy to get to the beach and although we did not ride them, the bikes were newer looking and I am sure would have been great. The grill out back is a Ducane and works great, but keep the burners on a little lower as it works so good you may over cook something.
The deck out back is large and as the owner had told us bugs were not an issue at all. In short I had a great experience and would definitely recommend this rental.
Group tennis and clay courts are only 3 blocks away

Our home is in excellent shape because we only rent it 0 to 3 times per year for less than 30 days in order to comply with Naples laws. Rentals longer than 30 days have no such restrictions.
