|Minimum Stay||5 - 8 nights|
This custom-built home is set on over an acre of land and boasts a replica Nevisian sugarmill as the entrance foyer. The home has a wonderful ambiance - balancing modern furnishings with wonderful antiques.
The garden offers a huge array of tropical fruit trees including 2 different types of mango trees, limes, avocado, soursop (also known as graviola) and sugar apple.
The master bedroom is very large, has air conditioning and opens onto the verandah and pool deck. A 37" tv with Roku is located in the bedroom with a Roku box - offering a huge array of programs on Netflix and Amazon Prime. The en-suite bathroom features an open shower, twin sinks and a large (2 person) jacuzzi.
The second bedroom is spacious, with air conditioning and a private balcony with ocean views. The en-suite bathroom offers a very large shower.
The kitchen is well-equipped with all amenities and appliances (including coffee maker, food processor, liquidizer, slow cooker, Kitchen Aid mixer) - but you may have more fun dining out rather than cooking on vacation! The breakfast bar has plenty of room so the chef / bartender is not alone when prepping in the kitchen .
The sitting room is a great place to hang out by day or night and the TV is an impressive 55" LED/LCD with cable and Apple TV.
Outside areas of the property include the dining table on the pool deck, the deck area with sunloungers, and the upstairs cocktail terrace for sunset drinks and breathtaking views.
The home is located in a prestigious estate and is conveniently located to the best beaches on the island and numerous bars and restaurants. The world-renowned Four Seasons Resort is just up the road and offers a very beautiful and challenging golf course, numerous tennis courts and a fabulous spa.
We are a married couple, Gigi and Charlie, that are lucky enough to call Nevis home year-round with several businesses to keep us busy. Charlie was born in St Kitts (the neighbouring island) when his parents were working at the Sugar Factory... some moons ago! We love this island and all that it offers and look forward to welcoming you to this very special place.
Gigi Duncan purchased this villa in 2002
'Moonbeam' is a wonderful home and a superlative vacation rental due to it's location, design, amenities, style and comfort. You won't be disappointed!!
Apologies for the delayed review. We spent 7 nights at Villa Moonbeam in January 2016. The place has everything you need for a peaceful vacation. Gigi the owner was on hand for anything and everything - nothing too much trouble. The house is well equipped and well situated for all amenities. I'm one of the rare humans that doesn't drive and nothing was a hassle.
Nevis Island is indeed paradise... and I shall return again one day.
Very comfortable villa - a real home from home.
Gigi and Charlie are very helpful and provided advice when we asked.
Nevis is just lovely - just what we needed - quiet, beautiful and welcoming.
So glad we chose to holiday here.
Nothing is too much trouble for the owners and this house is wonderful with great views and privacy and yet close to the beach. Its the second time we have stayed and would stay again in a heartbeat. We rented a car and saw more of the island this time !
We stayed at the Moonbeam Villa in Paradise Estates for 9 nights, and we had a delightful time! The house is tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, and very well equipped. One of our favorite activities there was sitting on the back patio...nice breeze, pretty garden, and the occasional monkey sighting! Being able to take a dip in the pool at any time was also quite a treat. I wish that I was back there now!
Gigi is a great host. She arranged taxi and water-taxi service for us on both our incoming and outgoing commutes, and she also helped to facilitate car rental. On the day that we arrived, she had put basic provisions in the fridge (e.g., bread, eggs, butter, milk, beer) so that we wouldn't have to run to the grocery store as soon as we got there.
On the island itself, we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the different beaches, going to the botanical gardens, trying different restaurants, and just relaxing. As an added bonus, there are cows, donkeys, goats, and sheep peacefully wondering about!
I would definitely recommend Moonbeam Villa at Paradise Estates and Nevis itself to anyone who is interested in a tranquil get-away in a lovely setting.
So often reviewers conclude with a phrase along the lines of "we'll be back" but rarely seem to return. We have come back and would like to report to anyone interested that Moonbeams is even better than last year. There really wasn't much that could have been improved but the new stove is wonderful and the mosquito screens just make you feel that little bit more comfortable. Everything else functions perfectly and Gigi and Charlie are the consummate hosts - totally unobtrusive but there if ever you need them and with a wealth of knowledge about Nevis that comes from living there for 30 years.
We came this time for three weeks and having that bit of extra time allows you to get to places that a shorter stay doesn't permit. The food at the local restaurants and hotels remains of the highest quality -make sure you eat at Montpelier, hermitage and golden rock but also there is a superb Indian restaurant and the Mexican just down the road rarely gets a mention in the crits which is unfair. It's hard not to enjoy the food on the island though wherever you go.
As Gigi said on one occasion you either get Nevis or you don't. Well we love it and moonbeams is the perfect base.
On one hand, I want to tell you how much I loved it; on the other, I want to keep it a secret. The villa is just beautiful. Clean, well maintained, landscaped, & centrally located. It has everything you need or want. We felt safe & taken care of. We plan to book for next year & the year after that.
We stayed at the villa from January 22 to the 27th. It is a lovely house, perfect for two couples to relax and enjoy the easy going flow of the island. The house was clean, well furnished and very comfortable. We rented a car, arranged by Gigi (our host who lives with her husband on an adjacent property), and the location was very convenient to shopping in the main town and many restaurants (Sunshine's in a must!). The kitchen was well equipped with modern appliances. Gigi had some groceries waiting for us in the refrigerator to have coffee and a simple breakfast the first morning. The small pool off the covered patio was great for a quick dip. The roof top deck and sitting area was a very pleasant place for both morning coffee and late night cocktails. The accommodations were as advertised.
As great as the house was, getting to visit with Gigi about the island, things to do, restaurants, places to visit and more was priceless! She arranged for our transfers from the airport on St. Kitts over to the island where she picked us up for the short drive to the villa (even after our flight was delayed 8 hours and we arrived just be before midnight!). She arranged for our rent car to be delivered to the house the next morning. She is just delightful.
