This custom-built home is set on a large lot of land and boasts a replica Nevisian sugarmill as the entrance foyer. The home has a wonderful ambiance - balancing modern furnishings with wonderful antiques.

The master bedroom is very large, has air conditioning and opens onto the verandah and pool deck. A 37" tv with Roku is located in the bedroom with a Roku box - offering a huge array of programs on Netflix and Amazon Prime. The en-suite bathroom features an open shower, twin sinks and a large (2 person) jacuzzi.
The second bedroom is spacious, with air conditioning and a private balcony with ocean views. The en-suite bathroom offers a very large shower.
The kitchen is well-equipped with all amenities and appliances (including coffee maker, food processor, liquidizer, slow cooker, Kitchen Aid mixer) - but you may have more fun dining out rather than cooking on vacation! About Gigi Duncan
We are a married couple, Gigi and Charlie, that are lucky enough to call Nevis home year-round with several businesses to keep us busy. Charlie was born in St Kitts (the neighbouring island) when his father was the engineer at the Sugar Factory... some moons ago! Gigi has been resident in St Kitts & Nevis for some 30+ years. We love this island and all that it offers, and look forward to welcoming you to this very special place.
Gigi Duncan purchased this Villa in 2002

Paradise in the Caribbean
We absolutely loved Villa Moonbeam on Nevis!! Gigi Duncan was a fabulous landlord. She arranged all of our transport from the time we arrived at the St Kitts airport. We were picked up at the airport and transported to the boat dock at Reggae Beach, boarded a water taxi to Oualie Beach on Nevis and she was there to deliver us to the Villa. On arrival at the Villa our rental car was waiting and the frig was filled with cold beer, eggs, bread, butter, bananas, all items to be used for breakfast the following morning. The villa was lovely and clean. We were able to enjoy the pool on really hot days. Gigi told us about a very close beach that we frequented and were often the only people there. The rooftop deck was wonderful for watching the sunsets. We came home with so many sunset photos on our camera! That, with a glass of wine and some cheese was the perfect way to relax before dinner. The location of the villa was just a short drive from Pinney's Beach where we found some great restaurants. Turtle Time and Lime Beach were two of our favorites. Nevis is paradise in the Caribbean and Villa Moonbeam was the perfect place to stay! Thank you Gigi!!!
Private, relaxing, stunning!
Nevis is an experience filled with many stories that my family and I will treasure. Our stay at Gigi and Charlie's villa was AMAZING. From the moment we booked our trip, Gigi helped coordinate details and handled everything so that when we arrived, we had zero worries. She lined up our transportation, met us at the water taxi, brought us to the villa and even had cold Carib waiting for us. She helped us when we left - coordinating transportation to St. Kitts & the airport for us...this was such a relief.
The villa itself was clean, orderly and very spacious for the 4 of us. There were gorgeous views from the cocktail terrace (it was our favorite happy hour spot), and the deck and pool hit the spot on the really warm days. There were noodles and boogie boards at the villa for our use, too. However, we did bring a giant inflatable flamingo for the pool, because, why not?
The first day we were on the island it rained sideways so we went on a rum punch tour which is enjoyable even for this girl who doesn't like rum! We always wanted to see monkeys but we never spotted them in the yard - only in the empty lot next door, which was still exciting for us. Each day we experienced the animals, lush landscape, and food of Nevis and truly enjoyed each moment.
Final note - we didn't have any major bug/insect issues (and I carry an epipen due to insect allergies). We loved the screens on the doors so that we could keep the house open without air conditioning during the day (fresh air, no bugs, amazing).
I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone traveling to Nevis.
The house was nice, but there were things that should have been shared with us before our arrival. Things like not having power for long periods during our stay. We were here for 2 weeks and lost power every day. Which meant you couldn’t use the stove, washer/dryer or dish washer. Over night when the power went out, the rooms heated up considerably, with no screens on the garden doors, you had no option but to put up with the heat. If you know there is always power failures on the island, you should have a generator hooked up to the house.
The cleaning ladies didn’t do a very good job of cleaning before or during our stay. There was so much dust built up in the baskets full of sea shells, as well as on a cabinet in the bathroom. The grout in the shower had mold in it. I had to clean the doors in the bathroom, as there was what looked like months of greasy build up on them.
There are two large palm trees that when the wind picked up every night during the power outage, they beat heavily on the tin roof in the smaller bedroom. These should be trimmed back.
Not being able to use the dish washer because, well there wasn’t consistent power, we washed all the dishes by hand.... no hot water in the kitchen. You could run the tap for 30 minutes, still no hot water.
Don’t be fooled by the swimming pool size in the photos, it is only a small 12 x 12 dunk pool.
The island is lovely, and there are a few great restaurants, but not much else.
I'm committed to providing a great rental property with exceptional customer service. Constructive criticism is welcomed so we can improve, so thank you for taking the time to review the property and I'm sorry we fell short of your expectations. You do say the house was nice, and that is lovely to hear.
To your points:
1. The GM of the electricity company had announced recently that power issues were resolved. As we live next door, we had the same power cuts and we appreciate that they are an inconvenience. We have explored purchasing an automatic 10KVA generator that would power the whole house when needed. The cost: US$20,000 (due to high shipping and import tariffs). Since this isn't feasible, I will update the listing description to say that if the potential of a power outage at the property is a deal breaker, then we may not be the best villa option. * There are stove gas lighters in the kitchen so you can cook at all times.
2. Thank you for bringing the issue of dusty seashells, mold and greasy doors to my attention. The girls normally clean the bathrooms with great vim and vigor so we have never before had any reports of this nature. I will be checking going forward.
3. If the palm fronds were disturbing you it would have been so easy to ask me to have them cut back. We could have seen to that issue straight away. Since reading your review, we have cut back the offending fronds this morning. As you’re aware, we aim to please : you asked us to provide the quilted fluffy toilet paper for your entire stay and we dropped it off that same day.
4. Being next door, we experienced the same random power cuts. Some for 15 mins, some for an hour. I'm confused as to why the potential of a power cut precluded you from ever using the dishwasher over a 2 week period. If the power had gone off mid-cycle I could have shown you how to reset it. I was able to run our dishwasher when needed, launder all your towels on 3 occasions, as well as bedsheets without issue.
5. I’m sorry if you think that the photos are misleading - I just chose a good sunny day with nice light. I do appreciate your point that the size of the pool may be important to some people and I will add the dimensions in the villa description.
I was at the villa myself for 2 of the 3 housekeeping calls and none of the 4 adults in the rental party mentioned any of these concerns when I asked how things were going. It might have helped if you had.
Gorgeous Villa in Paradise!
As much as I want to keep Villa Moonbeam a secret, I’d give it six stars if I could. Gigi’s villa is immaculate and extremely comfortable. The photos do not do it justice. It’s located on a very quiet lane not far from the water taxi dock, and it’s surrounded by a few other homes and open fields. There is a gorgeous view of the ocean and St. Kitts from the pool area and the roof deck, and the mountain towers behind the villa. Nevis is undeveloped, and Gigi’s neighborhood is no exception. There are cows and goats roaming just outside the gate, and the tree frogs and roosters serenade all day long. The villa is furnished with beautiful antiques, and the kitchen is better stocked with utensils and dinnerware than my own home. The entire villa is extremely clean, and Gigi has free wifi internet access and Netflix. The beds are very comfortable, and the outdoor shower is a lot of fun.
Gigi was a wonderful host (and everyone on the island knows her). She met us at the water taxi and had a rental car waiting at the villa when we arrived. The kitchen was stocked with a few essentials like eggs and pasta, and since we were there over Christmas, she even had a Christmas tree set up. I honestly don’t know how you could find a better villa on the island, and you cannot go wrong by booking this home (please just don’t book it the same week we want to return)!
Beautiful villa on a peaceful island
Moonbeam is a beautiful villa on a quiet, pretty and peaceful island that offers sailing, fishing, hiking and the Alexander Hamilton birthplace and museum . Restaurants are very good. GiGi, the villa owner, was very accommodating and friendly. She arranged transfer from the airport to the water taxi, water taxi to Nevis and was at the dock to greet us and rental car in the driveway. We were impressed with her friendliness and her interest in making sure we were having a great trip. We’ve rented villas on a number of islands and Moonbeam would be at the top. We had the native monkeys playing in the yard and enjoyed the deck and beautiful manicured yard. The location was great, the villa was immaculate and so comfortable for two couples. We hope to return.
The best villa (really lovely) and a fabulous island. Winning combination!!
We feel like we struck the vacation home lottery with this home. It was absolutely perfect in every way and we knew we'd made the right choice before we'd even set off with the level of service we received from Gigi, the villa owner. She sorted out our car rental, arranged our transfers and gave us all the details we needed for traveling there. She stocked up the pantry and fridge with complimentary supplies (very generous!)and met us on our arrival. The villa is fabulous and without a doubt the loveliest rental home we have ever stayed at. And we have stayed in many! The island of Nevis is unique as well - really unspoilt and we feel lucky to have found this little gem where we could relax completely. Getting around is easy but you have to have your wits about you for the rather erratic drivers! We put it down to part of the adventure! We are planning to come back next year - for sure!!
