Perfect for visiting Relatives of Students who want a central location to all Boston/Cambridge has to offer. Private and relatively quiet for visiting Professors, Graduate Students and Researchers.
This contemporary and clean, well designed studio offers a safe harbor for those wanting to be close to the action yet have a calm retreat.
The front room has a very comfortable full size bed and desk. The large eat-in kitchen is separated by a wall and door. Beyond the kitchen, separated by a glass sliding door is a quiet office space. All spaces have great natural light.
Great deal, great reviews...

Great vibe in this neighborhood and the the place is very comfortable. It was just me for five nights, so it was perfect. Close to the subway and eating and dining places. I will use this again if I return.
This was exactly what we were looking for. The location is great, very close to public transit. It was very clean and livable. The A/C unit was a godsend with the Boston heat and humidity.
I love renting from VRBO but this was not a good experience and I feel I need to warn people. The apartment was not at all as advertised and the woman who rents this apartment doesn't care about fixing things. The apartment had not been cleaned properly. The coffee maker had old grounds left inside and it was filled with dark fuzzy mould. It took me 20-30 minutes to scrub the mould out of all parts of the coffee maker and then run water through it to make it clean. There were not pillowcases on any of the pillows and the linens on the bed were not nice like in the photos – it was a tattered flower comforter with holes in multiple places. The kitchen had a single frying pan and no other pots, dishware or utensils for cooking. I used the clothes washing machine and it left dark grease stains on my clothes. The dryer did not work at all, would not turn on. There was no hair dryer even though that is listed as an amenity in the ad. There was a first aid kit in a bathroom drawer which had expired medications (2-5 years past expiration date) in it. I knew to look at the expiry date before ingesting them, but many guests wouldn't.
I emailed owner on the 2nd day (of 5 days) to let her know about the problems. She offered no solution to any of the problems that I was having while I was at the property. She was apparently in Colorado for the entire summer and didn’t offer any way to get new linens or a hair dryer. She suggested that I buy myself a new hairdryer (even though I already own one at home) and refused to reimburse me for the purchase.
The ad claims that the Washer and Dryer are "new, in the studio" but this is a blatant misrepresentation. Not new, and there is reason to believe that the washer/dryer has been in disrepair for some time. In the instructions for the apartment, it says that you need to “clean the lint trap every twenty minutes or so and only fill it less than half.” There are also permanent marker instructions on the dryer to clean the lint trap every 20 minutes. If you need to do this to make the dryer work, it needs to be serviced or replaced. I suggested owner get it serviced and she refused.
I put in a formal complaint and recommended that the cleaning fee be reimbursed since the place was not clean or as advertised, but she refused to pay. She was unwilling to come to any agreement whatsoever to make things better, even after VRBO encouraged her to do so. I believe the positive reviews must have been written by family or friends
Apartment is clean, in a residential blue collar/student neighborhood. I felt very safe walking to the red line and around the neighborhood. Owner was immediately responsive with a problem I incurred. Murphy bed in picture is just that- I recommend new pillows or taking your own.
We needed to be within walking walking distance of Harvard and this location was pretty good given that it was graduation season. The accommodation was clean, secure and ideal for our needs.
I have stayed at many rental by owner homes. This one is one of the best. The value is unbeatable. The bed is very comfortable. Linens were good quality and fresh. The eat-in kitchen is a plus. The "light" room was a bonus especially when we needed some solo time. Lisa was very responsive to our calls and helpful in getting settled then out and about.
