Hi! We are a family of 6 from SE Washington. We run a couple of campgrounds/RV parks: Tamarack RV Park in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Beach RV Park in Benton City, Washington. We love traveling, camping, and sailing.
Katie Roberson purchased this house in 2004
We own Beach RV park behind Wine Country House, so it was natural to own this home, and offer it to guests. The house is very solid and well-built, and very quiet.
This home is between Tri-Cities and Yakima, making it uniquely situated for boating/hiking adventures in the valley, living in while work contracting at Hanford Nuclear Site, or enjoying a wine-tour weekend with friends.
The house was great . Its our second time staying at this house . Its large , clean , and very convenient . Its across the street from the river we love fishing in and the people there are very nice .
The location is this listing's real asset. Google won't get you right to the listing, but when you call the number they will answer and show you right to the house. It is a bit like grandma's house in the 70's, but everything is clean and in good working order. You are just minutes from Prosser, seconds from Red Mountain wineries and a decent drive to Walla Walla. Listing looks just like the pictures.
We loved the open floorplan, well equiped kitchen, real wood burning fireplace, and quiet setting. The Internet isn't great, nor window views, but overall a good experience. We would definitely use this location again.
We were visiting family friends in the tri-city area and found the Wine Country Cottage to meet our every need! Kitchen was well stocked with necessary items for cooking our fresh seafood from Pikes Market earlier in the week. Laundry facilities were great! The sleeping arrangements were well spaced out for privacy of all of our travelers. My only "hint" of a negative comment would be that the back (master) bedroom had a bit of a musty smell. In addition, the decor could use some updating - I would throw out most of the plastic flower decorations. : ) But overall, a great place to stay - - I would definitely stay there again!
This home does not look impressive from the outside, but it is clean, spacious and comfortable on the inside. There is one full bath (tub and separate shower) and a shower and toilet in the laundry area. There are 2 king bedrooms and 1 queen, so it is comfortable for 6 adults if you can manage the shortage of full bathrooms. The kitchen is just as pictured. We didn't get to enjoy the home and backyard as planned because the AC broke and the manager -- thankfully, because the temps were around 100 -- moved us, at their expense, to other accommodations. However, they did allow us to leave our groceries and things we did not need for the temporary move, so we were able to use the supplies we had purchased for our stay. Katie was diligent in following through when the hotel's system failed in forwarding our confirmation. Our trip goals of a "wine tour" were able to be realized as this location is near the freeway and centrally located for day trips out to the various areas (Horse Heaven Hills, Red Mountain is "right there," Prosser, and the Tri-Cities). We would try it again.
I just left after staying 4 nights and can't say enough good about. Very well stocked with whatever you need. Clean and comfortable. We cooked on the grill evey evening. It is situated close to many of the wineries, which is why we went to Washington state. My brother picked the place out and did an excellent choice. There were only 2 of us but could sleep at least 8-10, sleeping on very comfortable couches. This place is huge and has a great kitchen. Our remote didn't work and they came right away to fix it..
Red Mountain wineries are located just north of Benton City, WA at the east end of the Yakima Valley AVA and just west of the Tri-Cities. The official Red Mountain AVA is home to 18 wineries.

This online reservation software system has a glitch, in that it charges for extra adults, but not "children". For each guest over the limit of two, we charge abit extra per night, and last we checked, children are guests! When making your reservation, please count each child as an "adult"...that will give you the correct price for your stay. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Cancellations anytime up until 30 days prior to your stay will be cheerfully refunded minus a $10 processing fee.
