About Katie Roberson

Hi! We are a family of 6 from SE Washington. We run a couple of campgrounds/RV parks: Tamarack RV Park in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Beach RV Park in Benton City, Washington. We love traveling, camping, and sailing.

Katie Roberson purchased this house in 2004

Why Katie Roberson chose Southeast Washington

We own Beach RV park behind Wine Country House, so it was natural to own this home, and offer it to guests. The house is very solid and well-built, and very quiet.

What makes this house unique

This home is between Tri-Cities and Yakima, making it uniquely situated for boating/hiking adventures in the valley, living in while work contracting at Hanford Nuclear Site, or enjoying a wine-tour weekend with friends.

We loved the open floorplan, well equiped kitchen, real wood burning fireplace, and quiet setting. The Internet isn't great, nor window views, but overall a good experience. We would definitely use this location again.

A vacation home with Everything you need!

  • 4 of 5

We were visiting family friends in the tri-city area and found the Wine Country Cottage to meet our every need! Kitchen was well stocked with necessary items for cooking our fresh seafood from Pikes Market earlier in the week. Laundry facilities were great! The sleeping arrangements were well spaced out for privacy of all of our travelers. My only "hint" of a negative comment would be that the back (master) bedroom had a bit of a musty smell. In addition, the decor could use some updating - I would throw out most of the plastic flower decorations. : ) But overall, a great place to stay - - I would definitely stay there again!

Property was as advertised!

  • 3 of 5

This home does not look impressive from the outside, but it is clean, spacious and comfortable on the inside. There is one full bath (tub and separate shower) and a shower and toilet in the laundry area. There are 2 king bedrooms and 1 queen, so it is comfortable for 6 adults if you can manage the shortage of full bathrooms. The kitchen is just as pictured. We didn't get to enjoy the home and backyard as planned because the AC broke and the manager -- thankfully, because the temps were around 100 -- moved us, at their expense, to other accommodations. However, they did allow us to leave our groceries and things we did not need for the temporary move, so we were able to use the supplies we had purchased for our stay. Katie was diligent in following through when the hotel's system failed in forwarding our confirmation. Our trip goals of a "wine tour" were able to be realized as this location is near the freeway and centrally located for day trips out to the various areas (Horse Heaven Hills, Red Mountain is "right there," Prosser, and the Tri-Cities). We would try it again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for providing a candid review. We went to considerable expense to pay for an alternate motel stay for you. We had the A/C fixed within 24 hours for your comfort, and look forward to having you back again. Our on-site manager Katie works very hard to give our guests excellent service and accomodations, and she handled the crisis well.

great place

  • 5 of 5

I just left after staying 4 nights and can't say enough good about. Very well stocked with whatever you need. Clean and comfortable. We cooked on the grill evey evening. It is situated close to many of the wineries, which is why we went to Washington state. My brother picked the place out and did an excellent choice. There were only 2 of us but could sleep at least 8-10, sleeping on very comfortable couches. This place is huge and has a great kitchen. Our remote didn't work and they came right away to fix it..

absolutely wonderful, felt like home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed two weeks in this home. Everything we needed was provided .All we had to do was buy food. It was an amazing vacation. The trees were just turning and the color was breathtaking. It was just a short trip to towns around the area. Everything was awesome. Would love to go back again one day. I have a lot of memories from the two weeks in that cozy house. Will absolutely recommend it to anyone for just a brief getaway or an exstended trip. The price was great. Thank you.

My family and myself spent four days in Benton City visiting our Mother. The house was great, the accomodations were perfect and everyone enjoyed themself. The backyard was private and quiet and we enjoyed most of our visiting time out there bar-b-queing. Thanks so much for the great hospitality you provided during our stay, it was greatly appreciated. We will be coming back on our next trip.
