Best Place Ever!!

  • 5 of 5

A perfect jewel of a cottage with Sarah and Shady taking the prize for the best hosts/friends one could meet and connect with on a journey! They were so great to chat with yet completely respectful of guest privacy. Sarah has thought of almost everything - you truly felt like you were home. The decor, comfy furnishings and beautiful home construction are top-of-the-line. The kitchen was a dream kitchen with pretty much anything you needed to cook a full meal (maybe another pyrex baking dish?). The living room was comfy with good Wifi - no real TV reception so Wifi would allow you to stream content. Bathroom is a dream come true - spacious, modern, spotless, with an awesome shower. The bedroom was also comfy and spacious with plenty of storage space for clothes. I'm a light sleeper and the bedroom windows had the honeycomb room-blackout shades - perfect. Sarah and I were able to come up with an option to cover the glass french doors to keep out the light and it worked great. The bed was soft and lumpy - a bit uncomfortable for me. Literally just steps from the main artery in Ashland, I was able to walk to the theater, hike in Lithia Park and explore downtown Ashland, keeping my car parked unless I left town. As a light sleeper (even with the great windows), the downside to being so close to the central streets is that car traffic is steady/noisy till around 11:30pm, starting up again around 7:30am with weekend traffic noise contuning a bit later. All in all, a great visit with wonderful hosts!

Sweet Cottage in Downtown Ashland

  • 5 of 5

Hanna's House was the perfect little cottage within walking distance to all Ashland has to offer. Very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, floor heating and nice ceiling fans made for a very pleasant stay. The owner's were easy to work with and were available to answer questions or to help out in any way.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling alone or as a couple who would like to explore Ashland from a lovely home base.

Comfort, Location and Ambiance

  • 5 of 5

We spent an entire week at Hanna's House and were thrilled by our time. Sarah and Shady are very conscientious and warm hosts, and they constantly checked in about our needs and our visits. Obviously, we were there to watch some theater and they enjoyed the discussions. We wondered if the kitchen would have everything that we wanted so we brought a couple of our own things. We were pleasantly amazed that they had more than we even thought of! It's truly a quaint retreat-like atmosphere right the heart of Ashland, and we will definitely be staying there when we return!

Hanna's House is a lovely home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We spent four nights in Ashland at Hanna's House. It is a comfortable, bright, well supplied little house with the owner Sarah right across the garden.

Sarah was very easy to work with from the moment I enquired about her property; and she was a lovely neighbor.

The property is in a neighborhood of pretty cottages, and 100% convenient to the theaters and restaurants. We walked everywhere.

When we have the opportunity to return to Ashland, I will make reserving Hanna's House a priority. Thank you Sarah and Shady.

Lovely and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We love staying here! Last year was our first visit and we were delighted to be able to stay here again. The cottage is fully equipped, thoughtfully appointed, and the grounds are lovely:). The location is great in that the central location allows walking or driving into downtown Ashland. Sarah is both delightful and helpful. A great place to stay!

Carlton

My wife and I found Hanna's House to be clean and well equipped, quiet in a garden setting. We found the location perfect for a 5 minute walk into town and to the Festival venue. Sarah was easily available, and had helpful tips for our visit, number one among them was to take blankets that she supplied specifically for the purpose, to put on our laps at the outdoor Hamlet performance. We recommend Hanna's House without reservation and would stay there again.
