Harrison House Rental Photos and Description

6-BR and 4-BA. Sleeps 13+

Enjoy family time with spectacular mountain and lake views from the wrap around decks on the main and lower floors of this custom built cedar home. Fishing, water skiing, swimming and water sports just steps to the private dock. Located on calm and protected Powderhorn bay, it has the best water skiing and Kokanee/trout/salmon fishing on the lake. This area of the lake also has some of the best bicycle trails in North Idaho.

Located on Coeur d'Alene Lake, 'one of the six most beautiful lakes in the world' according to National Geographic Magazine. You'll find all kinds of wildlife in the area, including elk, deer, beaver, otters, wild turkey and moose. Often, the deer prance through the driveway. Right from your deck, you will see an abundance of birds such as Red-winged Blackbirds, Osprey, Great Blue Herons, Hawks and Bald Eagles!

This property is perfect for large families or multiple families. It has a large kitchen with island, a breakfast nook and a dining room that can seat 10. It also has 3 living rooms each with Dish TV as well as free wireless Internet.

There is a master bedroom with king bed and loft living room on the 3rd floor. The kitchen, living room, 5-person hot tub and queen sized log bed room are on the main floor. There is a rec room and 4 more bedrooms in the lower floor, 2 with queen beds (one log bedroom set), one with two twin beds and another room with a queen/twin bunkbed. The main floor and the lower floors both have huge scenic wrap around decks overlooking the lake.

This location is a serene, private getaway, while only being a 40 minute drive to downtown Coeur d' Alene. Harrison town, 10 minutes away, has the basic amenities you might find in any small town, including a grocery store, restaurant, boutiques and an historic bar (One Shot Charlie's) as well as bicycle, jetski and boat rentals.

You can swim, bike or hike right out the front door or you can enjoy 100' of private waterfront access. The Trails of the Coeur d’Alene is a scenic 70+ miles of paved trail for biking, walking, rollerblading and skateboarding. It follows the Coeur d'Alene River all the way to the lake, then follows the lake south to Worley, Idaho, near the Coeur d'Alene Casino.

Many of the lake's hotspots are less than 10 minutes away by boat: Harrison Gateway Marina, Conkling Park, Rockford Bay (Shooter's Marina) and Carlin Bay Resort. The beautiful Coeur d'Alene Resort and its floating green are about 30 minutes away by boat. You can also enjoy historic Harrison town and the old silver mining town of Kellogg - and both have great antique stores.

Buy the way, we have a concierge service available if you need help with Ground Transportation, Grocery Purchase, Massage/Spa Scheduling, etc.

Make our house your home at Kokanee Cabin!

About Sam & Kerry Gridley

We purchased this beautiful home so we can spend more time close to family in Coeur d' Alene and Spokane (we live in Honolulu now.) Sam grew up in Coeur d' Alene and he has many fond childhood memories of swimming and fishing on the lake. Kerry grew up in Hawaii and considers Coeur d' Alene home.

Sam & Kerry Gridley purchased this house in 2014

Why Sam & Kerry Gridley chose Coeur d'Alene Lake

When we saw this house, we immediately fell in love with it. It's surrounded by huge pines which give it a lot of privacy and sets the mood for getting away from it all. The house was custom built in 1991 from thick cedar and the inside walls resemble sauna wood. We love spending time with our families at this house riding quads and hiking. We've fished Powderhorn bay for years and it's known as the best Kokanee salmon fishing on the lake and also known for bass fishing in the back of the bay. People even catch some good sized Chinook salmon out near the mouth of the bay.

Coeur d'Alene, Harrison and Kellogg, still have the sweetest, kindest and hardest working people. When we meet the folks in these towns, they welcomed us with open arms. The 'aloha' spirit does live in Idaho.

What makes this house unique

Bring the whole family! In fact, bring the family and your friends' families or have a unique family reunion in this extra large house. We hope you love our home as much as we do!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Great place for family of all ages

  • 4 of 5

Everything we needed was there.

Kitchen equipped with every pot, pan, appliance, utensil.

Hot tub a huge hit with adults & kids.

One more table game would have been nice(ping pong,?) but foosball kept most everyone happy.

TV on main level allowed sports & lots of channels for kids & adults. We spent most of the time outside, but one Seahawks pre season game was on during our stay, 12's appreciated the coverage.

Lower level teens watched vids late night. Huge selection.

Wifi available, but limited gigs, unless you want to pay for more.

AT&T and T Mobile very limited. Verizon reception good.

The boat dock was the place to be. We had our boat for tubing and boarding. Couldn't ask for a better set up. Chairs, towels, and a few water 'noodles', but we brought our own floaties & toys. The kids played off the dock all day.

Very convenient to Harrison for boat gas & a few groceries. Bring your own food. We shopped at Costco & Safeway in CdA on our way out.

Overall great stay. We like being out a bit and felt privacy without isolation.

Very large, accommodating home with all the creature comforts of home!

  • 5 of 5

If your looking for a family get away, this is it. It has ample spaces for all your friends and family to spread out and be comfortable. It is well stocked, comes complete with a movie library, and has great lake frontage and dock space. I would highly recommend it!

Best summer vacation ever!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for our group. There were 6 adults and 9 children and there was room for all of us. All of the kids had a great time and the adults had time to relax. We loved being right on the water. It was unanimous that this was one of the best summer vacations we had all had. Thanks so much Sam and Kerry for sharing your beautiful property with us.

Perfect Vacation House and location!

  • 5 of 5

We loved and enjoyed our stay at the Harrison house on CDA lake. We were a group of adults coming to ride the Trails of the Coeur d' Alene and explore the other outdoor activities that Northern Idaho has to offer.

If you are a large group seeking a place for a family reunion or a friends gathering this is your place. You can't go wrong by staying here. Its home away from home!

Thank you to Sam and Kerry for the use of their lovely home and helping us out when we had questions and needed extra assistance.

Udy Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

The Kokanee Cabin exceeded our expectations as we enjoyed a family reunion on the lake with 12 adults and 7 children 6 years old and younger from Aug.2-6, 2015. The cabin was very clean and obviously has been well cared for. Everything we needed was there, except the food, of course. The children's playroom was an added bonus we did not expect and the kids enjoyed that. We spent a day at the small beach at the Harrison Marina, we rented a pontoon boat for another day and spent the day doing water sports. Sam offered some great suggestions for areas to go and we took advantage of those. To be honest we spent most of the time right in Powderhorn Bay becuase it was smooth and close. And we spent the final full day swimming, sunning, and relaxing on the dock.

We had six cars between us and had no problems with parking. The hot tub was a nice place to be at night after a long day. The 6 year olds and adults enjoyed playing foosball and the movie collection was great. Overall this was a great place to be for a reunion or any gathering.

The only negative is the lack of unlimited internet. These days as all of get used to that luxury of internet and data really notice it when it is not available. I realize that the internet was available but when you get 12 adults all with ipads and laptops we didn't risk go over the allotment. I don't know about others but adding more gigabytes and tacking the cost onto the rental would hardly be noticeable and an expense I'd be willing to pay.

Sam and Kerry your cabin is one to be proud of. We look froward to one day doing this again.
