Fishing, water skiing, swimming and water sports just steps to the private dock. Located on calm and protected Powderhorn bay, it has the best water skiing and Kokanee/trout/salmon fishing on the lake. This area of the lake also has some of the best bicycle trails in North Idaho.
Located on Coeur d'Alene Lake, 'one of the six most beautiful lakes in the world' according to National Geographic Magazine. You'll find all kinds of wildlife in the area, including elk, deer, beaver, otters, wild turkey and moose. Often, the deer prance through the driveway. Right from your deck, you will see an abundance of birds such as Red-winged Blackbirds, Osprey, Great Blue Herons, Hawks and Bald Eagles!
This property is perfect for large families or multiple families. It has a fully-equipped kitchen with island, a breakfast nook and a dining room that can seat 10. It also has 3 living rooms each with lots of natural light, Dish TV and DVD players as well as free wireless Internet - and now Internet is unlimited, so enjoy Netflix on the TVs and use unlimited tablet and phone devices.
There is a master bedroom with king bed and loft living room on the 3rd floor. The kitchen, living room, 5-person hot tub and queen sized log bed room are on the main floor. There is a rec room and 4 more bedrooms in the lower floor, 2 with queen beds (one log bedroom set), one with two twin beds and another room with a queen/twin bunkbed. The main floor and the lower floors both have huge scenic wrap around decks overlooking the lake.
In the lower level we have a bar with a 3rd livingroom, a foosball table and a ping pong table. Having 3 livingrooms gives you privacy as well as separate rooms for the kids to play in and watch their own movies. By the way, we have hundreds of DVD movies in the house along with a lot of board games and little kid toys. We also have a badminton set and beanbag toss set.
This location is a serene, private getaway, while only being a 40 minute drive to downtown Coeur d' Alene. Harrison town, 10 minutes away, has the basic amenities you might find in any small town, including a grocery store, restaurant, boutiques and an historic bar (One Shot Charlie's) as well as bicycle, jetski and boat rentals.
You can swim, bike or hike right out the front door or you can enjoy 100' of private waterfront access. The Trails of the Coeur d’Alene is a scenic 70+ miles of paved trail for biking, walking, rollerblading and skateboarding. It follows the Coeur d'Alene River all the way to the lake, then follows the lake south to Worley, Idaho, near the Coeur d'Alene Casino.
Many of the lake's hotspots are less than 10 minutes away by boat: Harrison Gateway Marina, Conkling Park, Rockford Bay (Shooter's Marina) and Carlin Bay Resort. The beautiful Coeur d'Alene Resort and its floating green are about 30 minutes away by boat. You can also enjoy historic Harrison town and the old silver mining town of Kellogg - and both have great antique stores.

About Sam & Kerry Gridley
We purchased this beautiful home so we can spend more time close to family in Coeur d' Alene and Spokane (we live in Honolulu now.) Sam grew up in Coeur d' Alene and he has many fond childhood memories of swimming and fishing on the lake. Kerry grew up in Hawaii and considers Coeur d' Alene home.
Sam & Kerry Gridley purchased this House in 2013
Why Sam & Kerry Gridley chose Harrison
When we saw this house, we immediately fell in love with it. It's surrounded by huge pines which give it a lot of privacy and sets the mood for getting away from it all. The house was custom built in 1991 from thick cedar and the inside walls resemble sauna wood. We love spending time with our families at this house riding ATVs and hiking. We've fished Powderhorn Bay for years and it's known as the best Kokanee salmon fishing on the lake and also known for bass fishing in the back of the bay. People even catch some good sized Chinook salmon out near the mouth of the bay. We’ve got a large Dr. can handle multiple boats and a nice beach area for swimming sunbathing and using the fire pit night. Coeur d'Alene, Harrison and Kellogg, still have the sweetest, kindest and hardest working people. When we meet the folks in these towns, they welcomed us with open arms. The 'aloha' spirit does live in Idaho.

Extraordinary & Idyllic
Our family absolutely loved our stay at the cabin! Great for kids and awesome for mom and dad- we all loved it.
Beautiful cabin with lots of amenities
We rented Kokanee Cabin for a Christmas getaway for our entire family. We have 5 married children, besides ourselves, and as such, needed a place big enough for everyone to have their own room, and space to be away from everything if needed. If this is what you need, this is the place! Three spacious floors, with TV's on every floor; unlimited wifi, gaming systems, a well stocked kitchen with every utensil or appliance you need to make meals, and a beautiful view to enjoy. Because it was winter and cold, we didn't do much outside, but the view of the lake and surrounding areas was amazing, and there is a telescope in the house that we could watch the wildlife. The house was very clean and stocked with towels for both showers and the hot tub. We found the owner easy to work with and very responsive to our texted questions. The driveway is quite steep and with winter weather happening, he warned us about where to park and the likelihood of not being able to use the driveway. He also sent his caretaker to come and shovel the driveway for us, before we arrived. We felt well prepared for all that we might encounter! We thoroughly enjoyed our winter stay; enough that we are contemplating a summer stay to take advantage of all that the outdoors has to offer!
Fantastic Thanksgiving stay
We had such a great holiday here at the cabin. We had 4 different families with plenty of room for all. One our first night, the power went out in the entire area and the home was ready for such occurrences with flashlights on hand and easily accessible, and everything needed to light and build a fire in the wood stove. The owners were also quick to help by letting us know when the power was predicted to return.
We had our Thanksgiving holiday here and it was perfect. There was plenty of seating for all, and the kitchen was better equipped than we expected and cooking and serving Thanksgiving dinner was fabulous.
The hot tub was perfect for the chilly weather, the and the different family/tv areas were great for watching some of the many movies available. They were also great for playing the many games that were available and the ones that we brought.
The house was so well equipped with bedding, blankets, towels and more. Parking, we thought would be difficult with 5 vehicles (one family had to bring 2 vehicles) but it was actually great. The hill made it tricky but there was still plenty of space to not feel too cramped.
We had such a great vacation, and are so thankful that we chose to stay here. When possible, we plan to book it again!
Thank you, Gridley family.
It is fabulous! It is spacious, beautiful view, easy steps down to the dock. We loved the huge basement as we had so many teenagers with us! Kitchen very well stocked with anything you may need for cooking. Very clean. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone.
Perfect property for large groups
Property was perfect for our group and owners are very accommodating to questions or needs with very fast response time.
Clean, fun, relaxing with everything you need!
Our family couldn't have been more pleased with this place! We are already trying to figure out when to rebook for next year. The homeowners thought of everything, it was easy from start to finish. The house is huge and with our big family that was key; we just really enjoyed every aspect of this home. Highly recommend!
Located on beautiful protected (and secluded) Powderhorn Bay just 10 minutes from historic Harrison Town. In town you can find an antique shop, boutiques, restaurants/bars, marina, watersports rentals and bicycle rentals.
We're also 5 minutes from the start of the scenic bicycle route called The Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes. This area of the lake is perfect for water skiing or boating and has some of the best fishing on the lake.
Or if you prefer more relaxing activities, call Jo Jo, Harrison's licensed massage therapist who does house calls. Or just hang out and watch one of our hundreds of DVDs on one of our 50' TVs.
The history in our area is amazing. Take a day trip to Wallace, ID to visit museums and antique stores to get a feel for the old time mining and forestry days. Or drive up the river to The Cedars to see the largest cedar trees in North America then head over to the Snake Pit for a nice cocktail with the locals. You can also take day trips to do garnet or emerald mining with the whole family.
