About Home at Homes
Those of us that are part of Home at Homes, share a very characteristic quality: we suffer what is known as the 'Stendhal syndrome'. Beautiful things excite us and there is nothing we can do about it! We strive to see, feel and taste the good things of life. We can be very miserable at times, but when we are happy, we put all our heart and soul into staying that way. This blessed curse, conditions even our long working hours, something, which on the other hand fills us with happiness and, being happy, is very good for the health! Karin Wallis is a cosmopolitan from birth. Swedish mother and English father, born in London and from there has travelled more than half the world round. She speaks English, Spanish, German and Swedish and came to work with tourism through her marketing career. In addition to traveling you will also see her enjoy scuba diving, horse riding, skiing and any sport that involves adventure and to keep fit. She is an amateur photographer (though nobody would guess this by seeing her work!) and she shoots all the photographs you can find on the Home at Homes Website. She is a lover of good food, has an infatuation for perfection and enjoys a cold GT at the end of a long and happy days work. Nono del Barco has spent half of his life making people feel good. Some people say that his vocation is to be a super-host. He has spent most of his life related to high level tourism from Hospitality to Public Relations. Pioneer in the invigoration of the Seville nightlife, he has opened the doors to the avant-garde and innovative proposals in the gastronomic sector of the city. “Sevillano” down to the marrow, perfectionist, and lover of good life, good food and fine wines, he has an agenda worth its weight in gold: containing the key from the most hidden “tasca” to the most exclusive and private joint, Nono del Barco 'controls' because the city holds him no secrets.

Great location and spacious apartment
What a wonderful apartment! My friend and I stayed for a week and loved it. It’s quite spacious and beautifully appointed. The location is close to most everything but far enough to feel extremely safe. Great restaurants and shopping on the same block. I’d definitely stay there again. The owners were very responsive answering all questions very quickly. They even helped to arrange transportation to and from the apartment.
Grand apartment in perfect location. Owner quick to reply to queries. Strongly recommend.
My wife and I (and another couple) much enjoyed a 5 day stay in this wonderfully appointed and extremely well located apartment during a 5 day visit to Madrid in late September. It is situated in an up-scale neighbourhood near to fine shops, great restaurants, bars, and transportation (the Metro). Grocery shopping is literally next door. Extremely clean with the owner or her representative quick to reply to any questions made my telephone or email. The front bedroom (the larger of the two bedrooms) suffers from noise created on the street during the middle of the night from garbage collection trucks. A minor annoyance solved by tightly closing the shutters and for a light sleeper-using ear plugs. If we were to make a return visit to Madrid we would wish to stay here again and will strongly recommend it to friends who enjoy this type of accommodation (as opposed to a hotel)! This was just the embodiment of what an apartment in Spain should be .
The apartment was clean , well appointed with air , dishwasher, front load clothes washer , great shower an bath tub , and plenty of charm.
Highly recommended facility and the administrative service was excellent .Thanks Karin
Thank you Bruce for your lovely review. It is truely appreaciated. With warm regards, Karin Wallis
Everything about this place was terrific. It's a great location close to bus and metro lines as well as being in a safe and very walkable neighborhood. The apartment itself was perfect for our needs and especially loved the blackout shades that hastened recovery from jet lag. The apartment is nicely decorated and very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
Apartment with great light, tastefully decorated, in center of Salamanca.
