Great House! Adorable location!

  • 5 of 5

We found everything as described in the house. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans that were in good shape. The bed was comfortable. The harbor was very picturesque. Make sure to talk to the locals as they are more than happy to share interesting little places to see around the area that are known to the locals. The location was a bit out of the way, plan accordingly for groceries as we found the beast place to grocery shop is in Ellsworth and that is a bit of a hike.

Very pleasant place to stay!

  • 4 of 5

Quaint comfortable cottage! Beautiful setting! Reasonably priced. My sister & I enjoyed our stay. The sulfur smell from the hot water was off putting but didn't ruin our stay. It would have been nice if there were curtains or blinds on the sliding door to add a little more privacy in the second living room. The village of Corea was lovely & we enjoyed lunch on the wharf at the Wharf Gallery & Grill within walking distance from the cottage. The nearby town of Winter Harbor was also a nice place. We recommend the Fisherman's Galley Restaurant as a delightful place to eat with great views of the harbor.

Nice area and nice home

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed the home and the ability to bring out dogs with us. The large deck gave them a safe place to be. The house is really nicely furnished, very clean and there was a lot of room in it.

I wish we knew the water quality in the area was sulfer-ish so we could plan ahead, but the caretakers said it was good to drink and the smell didn't linger. It's something we often have issues with in our region, so it was only off-putting, not something to fear. Even with this issue, we'd stay in this nice house again!!

It was great to have good wifi, but there wasn't really television since the Direct TV only got infomercials, religious channels and the CW. Local stations with an antenna would have been nice, but we made due with our Amazon Fire Stick and the nice t.v. and wifi.

The kitchen had everything we needed. Even though we didn't use it, the option to grill was nice. I had a hard time sleeping on the master bedroom bed, but that's probably just me. My wife was fine with it.

What we enjoyed the most was the region. The house is set in a rural area but just 10 min from Schoodic Point park (beautiful) and 30 from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. It was worth the drive from MI to see these, but next time, we'll go to Schoodic point more times in a stay. The Warf restaurant just a few steps from the driveway made it so special. Seeing the lobster traps and the boats in the cove every evening and watching the levels of the tide as I walked my dogs and said Hello to the nice neighbors made it a GREAT vacation.

Thank you for allowing us to bring our dogs on a great vacation!!
