Our roomy 4 bedroom home is designed for family fun and comfort! Relax on the expansive decks, loll in the living room in front of the cozy stone fireplace, play pool in the sunroom or just sit back and relax in front of the giant HD TV.
* New internet-connected thermostat means you will arrive to a *warm* house
* New tankless water heater means hot showers are always available. New furnace is quiet and efficient for a totally comfortable stay.
The big newly upgraded open kitchen invites a cooking collaboration and the well stocked cabinets will serve the chefs in the crowd. New appliances, granite countertops, and other great upgrades.
The sunken living room has several couches and everyone's favorite, a huge round 'cuddle chair' in the bay window with a view of the surrounding forest. One couch is a queen sleeper and the sectional is very comfortable for an extra bed or two. Sit anywhere and enjoy the giant HD TV over the beautiful stone fireplace.
The adjoining dining room has a big dining table and additional log bar, that combined, seat 12 for that large family dinner. Watch the big game from the log bar with the best view in the house.
Master Suite - is like its own retreat with a king bed, private deck, walk-in-closet, computer desk with Wi Fi, TV and bathroom suite with huge double spa shower. The Master bedroom also has a huge round 'cuddle chair' in the bay window, a favorite quiet spot for reading that great novel.
Log Room - has a twin trundle bed that can be set up as a king. It has beautiful views of the forest.
Ranch Room - has a four poster queen bed with a memory foam topper, and beautiful views to the forest out back.
Bunk Room - Great for the kids, has a twin over full bunk with a twin trundle underneath. The TV and camp decor make this a favorite hang out.
We keep the kids (and grown ups) busy with the pool table, board games, horse shoes, sledding and of course the big screen TV + 2 TV's in the bedrooms.

We both gravitate to the mountains. My husband grew up in the German Alps, and I lived in the Rockies in Montana
We have traveled all over Europe and America and always prefer the countryside, especially the mountains.
We have have always vacationed in beautiful places with our large extended family, and we keep coming back to Truckee. We love to ski, hike, ride horses, mountain bike, boat, swim and especially just relax. Tahoe Donner is the best place we have found to enjoy all that we do together.
Cynthia Rothmeier purchased this house in 2011
We have been visiting the Tahoe area all our lives and kept returning to Tahoe Donner. We frequently rent with another family and love the roomy homes, well planned facillities and easy access to HWY 80 and the surrounding areas.
We enjoy the area year round and especially love all the Tahoe Donner amenities - ski hill and equestrian center just up the road, Rec center with pools, gym and hot tubs, lakeside beach club and so much more.
We wanted a large family friendly house with easy year-round access and lots of parking. We found all that and much more in our new home.
Our home is near the top of Tahoe Donner resort and backs up to an open forested preserve. We can hike, bike or cross country ski right out our front or back door and go for miles.
We have room for our whole extended family and/or another family we invite up to share a fun vacation together.
While there are neighbors, this property gives the illusion of being tucked away in nature. The views from all the windows are of woodland. We visited in February with very heavy snow on the ground. The Grandkids loved sledding in the backyard, building a snowman and an extraordinary snow fort. The hot chocolate we had in the snow fort was especially sweet in more ways than one. The kids loved making snow angels on the large deck and we even made some old fashioned maple syrup snow candy (Google it). The property (especially the kitchen) is well stocked with anything you might need to be comfortable (lots of extra blankets too). We didn't use the fireplace but it is available in a very cozy family space with big comfortable couches and an upgraded TV with Netflix. The beds are comfortable and the it was really nice to have a washer and dryer to deal with snowy, wet clothes. We definitely will rent again in spring or summer when we can see the yard without 15 feet of snow !! We are not experienced drivers in the snow and the owner was more than helpful (and very patient) with practical information that helped in soothing our nerves. She also directed us to a small market and kid's sledding park that were very close and a lot of fun for the kids (discount entry fee with the passes we found in the kitchen). She was very responsive to our questions, even on the weekend. I would highly recommend this property.
It's amazing house. warm and cozy . Plenty of space . Clean and it doesn't have any bath and body works smelly things. It smells like... Clean house! with no extra smell to make sure it smells like smth cz we didn't clean it well. Every time I smell those smelly things I assume house itself either old or something . This one is good! I'm super picky about dust ... And this house doesn't have much dust . I looked at fake flowers and other places. Good job whoever is cleaning it ! We had a blast at this property! Couches were a big concern because we had baby there and I was pleased to seat on them and not think about other people seating on them. Really nice place ! We had 6 people adults plus 2 kids. Property has toys and books and puzzles. It also has vaporizer (who has kids will understand my excitement) . Thank you so much for good time spent there! Picking a new spot usually hard but I think we found the house we ll be renting from now.
Btw.. Heater is really good there. We had baby and it was really comfortable to stay because heater did it job. It's a two story house and we had portable heater in the master bedroom. It was awesome.
We especially liked the master bedroom and the quiet neighborhood. Newly painted interior. Workable kitchen with excellent range and sink. Any problems we had were immediately addressed by the owner. The bedrooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. The owners artistic touch is evident throughout. Our only complaint is the dirty windows and the Xmas decorations in August. Those two things are easily rectified.
Lots of bedrooms, good backyard sledding, what's not to love about this place?
The cabin is in a great location and really close to Tahoe Donner where we put our kids in ski school for the first time! It had everything we needed to make our stay feel like home. We would come back and stay again!
