"Oleander Cottage "
Your family vacation will bloom at the charming and newly renovated Oleander Cottage. This traditional beach cottage, a beloved family home, is located at the corner of Carolina Boulevard and 5th Avenue and is a short, one block stroll to one of Isle of Palms most beautiful stretches of beach. For excellent dining, the home offers an easy drive or bike ride to Front Beach Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island. Or treat yourself to the 20 minute trip to Historic Charleston to enjoy this number one city to visit in the U.S., according to Conde’ Nast Traveler.
The Oleander Cottage recently completed an extensive updating and renovation project. Renovations included the construction of a private pool in a lush, private backyard setting, upgraded kitchen appliances and granite countertops, an outdoor shower, and two new baths: the master bath has a soaking tub/shower, and guest bath has a large double width shower; both outfitted with subway tile and carrara marble vanities.
Wonderful outdoor living continues on the expansive front screened porch. The porch is a favorite spot to lounge and gather when not enjoying the pool or the beach. The sounds of the ocean are easily enjoyed from this porch; it is well furnished with comfortable seating and teak dining. The Oleander Cottage features three beautifully appointed bedrooms. The large master suite features a four-poster queen Charleston Rice bed, a seating area, and a private bath. The guest bedrooms are equally lovely. One guest room features a full size antique mahogany sleigh bed and a single iron daybed, sleeping 3. The other guest room features a Tommy Bahama queen bed and beautiful accessory pieces. There is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room, as well.
The living space is perfect for families with an open floor plan in the kitchen, dining and living room. The home, also, features a large flat screen TV with DIRECTV and Blu-ray DVD player.
The Oleander Cottage is a favorite of “Snowbirds” each winter with special monthly rental rates. Bonus features of monthly rentals include bi-monthly housekeeping and pets are welcomed (with owner approval and deposit).
For your next vacation, you will want to pick one of the most beautiful flowers on the island, The Oleander Cottage, with its close proximity to the beach, new private pool, spacious outdoor living, and wonderfully appointed interiors.

It was a lovely vacation spot. It was very quiet and the pool area was nice. A very short walk to the beach as well. Nice kitchen with all of the needed equipment.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the beach house. The only improvements I would suggest is to get a new mattress in the room with the day bed. Day bed mattress was fine just not the regular bed. It was like a hammock and only comfortable when one person was in it. The rock sidewalks were a pain. Definitely not for bare feet and kept hitch hiking into the house and in the deck area
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this home. The house was beautifully decorated, clean and very well-equipped with new appliances. Checking-in was easy and we loved the convenience of the key pad entry to the house instead of carrying keys. We particularly loved sitting on the front porch of an evening, and the master bedroom was so stylish; a real sanctuary with lots of storage space. We enjoyed the close proximity to the wonderful beach and the short walk to a range of small stores and excellent restaurants. It was a very relaxing vacation and the property really felt like a second home - we didn't want to leave. Isle of Palms is an ideal base for exploring other parts of the coastal area as well as Charleston itself and our kids loved the visit to the nearby Fort Moultrie. We would definitely return in the future.
This house is absolutely perfect! It's charming, beautifully decorated, and well-appointed. The pool and outdoor space offered the perfect place to relax after a day on the beach, which is just a short walk away. We spent our evenings on the spacious front porch which is complete with fans, a large dining table and very comfortable furniture. We could not have had a more enjoyable stay. We will definitely return to this "home away from home"! And the staff at Beachside Vacations made our trip the easiest one ever!
The Oleandar Cottage is a marvelous home! It beautifully decorated. When you walk into the home it says "welcome home." We couldn't have asked for more. The home was just a short walk to the beach, which we spent hours enjoying. The private pool was ideal and allowed us many enjoyable hours as well. The kitchen was well equipped and the three bedrooms and two full bathrooms made our stay wonderful. The access to the Wi-Fi was a definite plus! We plan to come back and stay many many more times. We fell in love with the home and the Isle of Palms. The staff at Beachside Vacations was awesome!
We were so impressed with this home! As you enter through a jasmine-covered entryway (smells wonderful!), you have a roomy screened-in porch with very nice furnishings for dining or relaxing. The kitchen/dining areas are clean and well-equipped with whatever you might need for preparing meals. The bedrooms are especially nice - quality bedding, ample storage - and a very spacious master bedroom. Bathrooms had modern, attractive features. Everything was very clean.
The backyard pool area contains an outdoor shower and a separate unit with laundry facilities. The yard/landscaping was attractive and well-maintained. We very much enjoyed relaxing out back after a day at the beach - only a short one-block walk. Also important to us: Our part of the beach was never very crowded....a few locals that we spoke with said that this part of the beach really does not get as crowded as farther down the beach, so we were not sitting on top of other couples/families. Nice!
For dining, the Acme Lowcountry Kitchen has wonderful breakfasts - go hungry! It's only a few minutes down the road from the cottage.
Lastly, I have to say this was the most worry-free check-in we have ever had with a vacation home. About an hour or two before check-in, we received an email with the code to the front door. That's it - we drove straight there and went in.
I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends - we just had a wonderful time and hope to stay there again!
