Cozy apartment in a historical building (15th century) in the center of Arezzo: entrance with private garden, living room with open kitchen, one double bedroom, one small single bedroom, bathroom with shower, wi-fi, TV, Stereo.
Location is very central: 100 meters from Piazza San Francesco (the center of life and culture in town, with many bars and restaurants) and an easy 10 minutes walk form the train and bus station, so it's a perfect starting point for visits to Florence (30 min by train), Siena, Perugia, Assisi, Chianti region, Val d’Orcia and many other destinations in the south of Tuscany and Umbria.
Access by car is only allowed during certain hours of the day: Car access is NOT allowed from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM and from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. There are many parking lots, both free and guarded. I suggest the free parking lot in Via Giuseppe Pietri, it’s located just outside the walls, an easy and pleasant 10 minute walk from my apartment
You will be greated with a bottle of wine, Tuscan cookies, free Nespresso coffee and Frette towels and bed linen, and if you like music you might even enjoy playing my electric piano.
I use this apartment sporadically, mostly on the weekends, because I work far from Arezzo. There is stuff inside that shows that I live there, (some clothing, a few guitars, wine, etc), but of course you'll have the apartment all for yourself.
Just one caveat for people who need lots of light: this is an ancient building the windows are not very large, so don't expect a lot of light inside. Besides, the main bedroom and the bathroom don't have windows, but air circulation is not a problem since there is a powerful fan that sucks in fresh air from the outside. The fan is hidden, can be switched on and off as needed and its speed is adjustable, so the noise is not a problem.
On the positive side, the inside of the apartment it's always quite cool, even in summer, so there is absolutely no need for air conditioning.
Interaction with Guests
I'm not usually in Arezzo because I work in Milan, but my mother lives in the same building. Once we exchange our email addresses, I’ll send you some detailed information about the apartment, how to check in and hints about places to visit and where to eat.
