This great little “Shed” is an outdoor enthusiasts dream home. Take a tool shed, add electricity, plumb it, insulate it, and add a huge deck. Hang a flat screen TV in the bedroom loft with a DVD player and Internet access and WiFi with a HDMI cable to hook up to your computer.
Full kitchen, countertop dishwasher, washer and dryer and no you won’t have to use the outhouse. The Shed is complete with indoor plumbing, for your convenience during rainy, cold or extremely hot weather. Yes, we do have heat and air. The furnished deck has a huge charcoal grill a picnic table, comfortable lawn chairs with foot rests, and a Hot Tub.
Located 12 miles from Rock City and 17 miles to Downtown and just across the road from America’s # 1 hang gliding flight park where you can watch small aircraft (can be noisy during the day) and hang gliders (silently soaring) almost all day every day..
They have Saturday night cook outs and campfires every week during season around 7 pm in the Landing Zone. Everyone is welcome. Some weekends and mostly all holiday weekends they also have live music which can go on into the wee hours. (well, maybe it is not that quiet of a place on Saturday night!)
So what are you waiting for? The price is most affordable – Get that reservation in before all the good dates are gone! Don’t forget to bring your gear, if you like hang gliding, or some courage in case you decide to take up a new hobby!
This shed is absolutely adorable. The hot tube is perfectly located in a cut out so you can see the stars. It can get rather warm during the day in the loft even with the air running, however this was a easy fix as the futon couch folded out into a very comfortable bed and it is much cooler down there. Overall one of the best places I've ever booked. Hands down we will be back.....
Quiet little place very close to Chattanooga but far enough away not to be crowded. Very nice cabin for a getaway . Will be staying here again
We really enjoyed our stay at The Shed. It is well located for the area and you can get to everything within 15-20 mins (fast by mountain road standards!) We toured See Rock City, Ruby Falls, the Incline Railroad, Cloudland Canyons, and went to Ethridge, TN, to Amish Country. We got to all these places quickly and with no problems. Plus the drive was beautiful.
The Shed itself is nicely put together; big living area, large loft bedroom and very comfortable for the size. However, there is one thing I would warn about…steep steps going to the loft bedroom. If you have bad knees, small children, or dogs, you’re going to have trouble with these steps regardless of the handrails. I ended up sleeping on the living room futon because my knees couldn’t handle the steps. Living in Florida, and having been on many boats, these steps are what I would consider “boat” steps. You need to come down them facing the steps while holding onto the handrails just like you would on a boat. I believe my husband said they are 2” x 8” boards with a steep pitch. You may also want to bring a doggie/kid gate with you to place at the bottom of the steps to keep your dog/kid from attempting the climb; not good. Oh, and the driveway is a little steep but that’s not uncommon for the area.
Owners were very accommodating, let us check in early. had a wonderful weekend, loved watching the hanggliders from the hot tub. would def stay here again!
Nice lil place up on the hillside. Not quiet as secluded as the ad would have u believe but we never saw the folks from the trailer below and their dog is very friendly and played with ours which is great cuz they are usually very shy. The inside was nice though and everything worked well for our little group with it's easy access to almost anything in the area.We would definitely use these folks again.
THE SHED is located about 25 minutes from Chattanooga
