Baynard Cove House Rental Photos and Description

Beautifully renovated, 3000 square foot home, a comfortable great room enables anyone in the kitchen area to be part of the group. Four generously large and bright bedrooms allow privacy, each having their own bathroom. The location is a very private setting in prestigious Baynard Park, in Sea Pines, across from the Harbour Town golf links and the 13th green, this house has a central location for a short bike to Harbour Town and the beach.

Designed to provide comfortable easy living with several delightful outdoor sitting areas. Sit on the terrace overlooking a lagoon and Egret Island, where in spring and early summer nesting egrets cover this island. Swim or relax around the private courtyard pool. Entry courtyard has softly flowing water from a fountain, table & chairs for quiet times.

This bright house is a wall of windows, opening it up to a very large, private but open property & view beyond. It has sliding glass doors in 3 bedrooms, with the master bedroom having 12 feet of French doors leading onto the courtyard pool area. The Italian tiled Great Room is a wall of glass and doors overlooking a large lagoon.

Great Room consists of:

Open kitchen area, granite countertops with counter seating for 4.

Dining room table seats 8.

Living area has extremely comfortable, oversize reclining sectional and armchair rocker recliner grouping surrounding the large flat screen TV with Blue Ray DVD.

Games table for cards, backgammon or chess.

4 bedrooms, each with flat screen TVs and DVDs, 3 are Blue Ray, & each bedroom has their own sitting area outside of their glass doors.

3 king beds,

1 full bed, 1 twin bed and a twin sized sofa bed with comfortable foam mattress.

3 bedrooms have bathrooms with showers en suite.

4th bedroom has bathroom immediately across the the hall with tub/shower.

2 bedrooms overlook the lagoon, the other two have direct access to the pool.

Pool can be heated in spring and fall, a half bathroom is adjacent to pool area with a supply of towels for pool use. There are an abundance of chaise lounges and poolside chairs to relax in & soak up the sun, when not swimming.

Gas barbecue grill outside of kitchen overlooking the lagoon, two outside dining tables with seating for 12.

Never taking a vacation for years as I was very busy operating my horse farm, and my "free time" was taken up competing. My husband and I decide it was time to start looking for a vacation home that we could enjoy with his grown family. Arriving in Sea Pines for a golf vacation, to improve on this new sport for me, we agreed that we had found what we had be searching for. We now own three homes that we offer for rent in Sea Pines, the other 2 are HomeAway numbers 239212 and 3523347.

Why Gary & Carol Shultis chose Hilton Head

Bermuda was my home for years. I loved looking out at the ocean whether it was calm or wild, the beauty of lush green surroundings and manicured golf courses.

Sea Pines offers all of this, with a delightful charm, right here in the U.S.A, the convenience of restaurants, shops and 3 golf courses, as well as charming Southern towns. We could also drive there and bring our dogs. Knowing how special it is for us to enjoy our dogs on our vacation, we decided this home should offer that to our guests, with the house designed to be pet friendly for easy vacation living.

What makes this house unique

This house is ideal for families, or just for couples. Pet friendly, (dogs only) it offers easy comfortable living for owners and their dogs.

With large comfortable bedrooms, each having their own TV's and several outside seating areas, it works for group interaction, or guests can get away for their own private times. With a central location in the Sea Pines Plantation, the location offers quick and easy access to any part of the island, and a variety of routes to get to there.

Wonderful Family Vacation

We have been going to Hilton Head for more than 10 years and even have a time share there. Of all the places we have stayed at, we all agreed that by far, the "Rookery" home was the loveliest and most comfortable. The weather was perfect and the home was perfectly situated to take advantage of all the attractions Hilton Head has to offer. At the same time it was secluded enough so that we had plenty of privacy and quiet for the grandchildren to take their naps.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the entire house, pool and location of the property. The grandchildren had a great time playing in the heated pool and running around the house. Our daughters and their spouses each enjoyed having their own large bedroom and modern updated bath.

My wife specifically loved sitting outside in the backyard enjoying the scenery and while having a glass of wine. The owner even arranged to have new Adirondack chairs set up in the backyard and was used by all.

There was a large seating area, both inside and outside for all of us to eat together. In addition, there were numerous secluded outside areas where each family could relax and be alone. Plenty of room for all.

The owner was a pleasure to work with. Very organized and helpful in getting rental equipment f(cribs, high chairs, etc) for the children and bikes for the adults.

We are all now looking at our calendars for next year to see when we can once again visit and enjoy the luxury of this home.

Wonderful Vacation Rental on Hilton Head Island!

We have been staying at "The Rookery" for the past five years. As we have traveled all over the country, this has been one of the most enjoyable accommodations we have ever stayed in. Cleanliness has always been one of the top features, as the inside of the house is always spotless. The owner, Carol, does not mind spending money to keep this property in first class shape. The grassy areas have been greatly expanded, questionable trees have been removed for better lagoon viewing and the pool area is always immaculate. Carol is so easy to work with and is always available to take your calls.

We hope to continue to vacation once or twice a year at this relaxing rental. Whether it be watching the ospreys catch fish in the lagoon, viewing the alligators on their daily cruises around Egret Island, enjoying the beautiful pool and the beaches, or riding bikes will certainly feel at home in this wonderful Sea Pines rental.

Best 5 weeks ever!

We just returned home from the best 5 weeks of vacation ever! Carol Shultis is so wonderful to work with, every need was taken care of. I have 2 Labrador retrievers, and this house was perfect. The home was very clean, perfect location for a winter get away! The 4 bedroom house has everything you can ask for. I had guest come and visit off and on, and everyone loved it. The lagoon in the back offers everything from egrets to eagles to osprey, Never a dull moment . My husband thought it was the best. We hope we can return next year to the same spot.

Easy access for biking and walking, and a short ride to 2 beautiful beaches. Can't say enough!

We have stayed several times in another of Carol's houses in Sea Pines, Hilton Head, and found 11 Baynard Park Road to be equally charming, spacious, comfortable and well appointed. We have rented vacation properties around the world, and Carol's homes are the best equipped and most comfortable. Carol herself is very pleasant and easy to work with; she was most accommodating when we had to change the dates of our reservation.

The house offers comfortable king-size beds, an elegant bathroom, and a gourmet kitchen equipped with new appliances and every gadget a cook could want. In addition, Hilton Head in winter is delightful; all our favorite restaurants were available without reservations!

We loved the position of the house, so close to the lagoon, and were disappointed that we were too early to see the nesting egrets on the "Rookery" island. We were just so sad to cut short our stay in order to beat Snowstorm Jonas! We will certainly return and, having seen all the pool and beach toys in the garage, will make plans to bring our grandchildren next time.

We first rented 11 Baynard Park in the summer of 2014. We had a wonderful stay and you can read my wife's comments below. We were complimented by the owner for leaving her house in excellent condition. Our good experience prompted us to rent again in late summer 2015.

We arrived and noted some housekeeping problems which ordinarily would have been taken care of before guests arrived. To itemize: a toilet seat was completely detached, a towel bar fell off at the first use, a carpet tack was exposed (and stepped on) due to a worn carpet in one of the bedrooms, light bulbs were out in the kitchen, AND the dishwasher was broken. The dishwasher was replaced and a surly maintenance man arrived mid-week to address the other problems. Despite this, we left Hilton Head feeling that the experience was good even though the accommodations did not live up to our previous experience.

On our trip home, we received a call from the owner accusing us of damage to her property. The alleged damage included a broken vase and torn chair covering found by her maid. We strongly disputed this, stating that the house was in very good order when we left. She replied that her maids had been employed by her for several years and she trusted and believed them over us. My question is, why were we accused of something we did not do? Was it a way to withhold our security deposit for whatever reason(?), were the maids trying to cover themselves by laying the blame on us (?), was the housekeeping crew getting back at us for finding and reporting problems that they should have taken care of before our arrival? In any event, there is something going on here and we regrettably found ourselves caught in the middle of a no-win situation. We refused to accept a partial (small) refund of our security deposit because doing so would imply acceptance of the false accusations against us. J.R.R.

Owner's Response: We own three rental properties in Sea Pines and started renting our first house in 2009. This is the first poor review we’ve received for any of our houses. We have many repeat guests, year after year. We employ a maid for each house. In this case, the maid who cleans this house for us has done so for 5 years with an impeccable record. We also have an on-Island caretaker who checks each house with each maid Saturdays, and he is quickly available to address any problem that may arise during the week. These guests (four adults and two children) arrived on a Saturday. Late on Monday night they emailed us regarding several issues. All of which were addressed as quickly as possible to include the replacement of the dishwasher with a new one by next day at noon. The detached toilet seat could not have been missed by our maid when she cleaned it before the guests arrived two full days earlier, there appeared to be no issue with any towel rods in any of the 5 bathrooms, the grill, only mentioned in that first email, did have propane, was working and there was an extra full bottle in the garage as explained in our "Welcome Letter". All of the items we attended to would be considered, by us, normal wear and tear, we certainly would not find it appropriate to hold a guest in any way responsible for them. However, after these guests left, our maid arrived to find a large ceramic vase smashed into several pieces, and an upholstered chair with the back badly torn away. We contacted the guests to ask about these issues and sent them photos. They denied any responsibility for the condition of either item. But the fact remains that the damage occurred during their occupancy, and, as such, we were justified and more than fair, in returning even part of their damage deposit, a small percentage of our cost to replace the vase and reupholster the chair. We are acutely aware that most guests plan and look forward months ahead to their special vacation week, and of course, want that week to be spent in an immaculate, problem free house, a stress-free home away from home. We take great pride in the condition each guest finds their house in on their arrival, and it is distressing to us that this unfortunate situation arose.
