Sea Dreaming of Next Year!
This is our fourth stay at
Captiva Shores and our first at Villa Sea Dreams. This property is located in the best spot on the Island. You are in walking distance of the town of Captiva, the Green Flash, and Tween Waters Inn and the Mucky Duck....where we went most afteroons for appetizers and Bloody Mary's.
The property is Gulf to Bay which means you can enjoy beautiful sunsets and beach walks on one side and fishing on the other. The swimming pool is one of my favorite spots. It is rarely busy. I swim laps and the pool is spotless and bath water warm.
As to the Sea Dreams Villa, the floor plan is great. The front porch has been eliminated and incorporated into the living space. That gives you plenty of room to stretch out on the comfortable furniture, enjoy the excellent TV and work puzzles on the coffee table. The glass sliders that open to the gulf can turn the living room into a porch in a flash. We really enjoyed this aspect. The air conditioning is great and worked well for the hottest times of the day. The kitchen is well appointed with good appliances. We cooked all breakfasts in and three suppers. We also had guests for two of the suppers as friends were in the area. There was plenty of counter space and the dining table was large enough for a group. We needed two coffee pots and they provided them.
The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms had been
updated in the not too distant past. The property had really nice beach gear, chairs, cooler, umbrellas, etc. It also had serviceable fishing gear. The grill was as nice a one as you would buy for your own home.
The Sunsets here are spectacular. We looked forward to this the most each day. We appreciated the love and care that has gone into this wonderful property. There were a few very minor maintenance issues, which were addressed immediately.
I have developed a great relationship with the owner of this property over the years I have been renting at Captiva Shores. It is really nice to trust someone and know that they will do all they can to make your vacation experience special. This one is a winner.
The property is nice with high end finishes. Only down side jetted tub was not working.
It was an amazing stay, we saw dolphins and beautiful sunsets from the living room window every day. Perfect place to get away, you can lounge on the beach or bike, hike, boat, swim, bar hop, etc... it all available.
Thank you for the nice review. We are so glad you thoroughly enjoyed the high quality interior finishes, and tremendous views from inside and outside of the home! We will be sure to get the spa tub working asap. We look forward to your return. Thanks again.
Sea Dreams is really a dream vacation home!
Sea Dreams is a beautiful, dream vacation home on the beach. The house looks just like the pictures-yes it is that nice. You can sit in the comfortable recliners in your living room and watch the sunset, or just a few steps and you are right on the beach. This home was very clean and came with all of the necessities. There are very nice beach chairs and umbrellas, with a wagon to get it all over to the beach. A nice welcome basket was on the dining room table when we arrived with wine and snacks. This was such a special touch that we really appreciated. We would definitely go back to Sea Dreams.
Went for a family vacation with 5 adults and 1 child. Great space, and plenty of room. Dan was very accommodating, and the town-home had beach towels, chairs, two umbrellas, boogie boards, and a couple of wagons to get it all to the beach. Will definitely stay here again!
Thanks Tony! We are glad to provide everything you need to really enjoy yourselves and relax on vacation. The expanded living room makes the home's 2000 square feet feel much larger. Even though it is only 30 steps to the sand, everyone loves the convenience of the wagons to make it even easier with all the kids things. They also come in handy for the heavier high end beach chairs and the loaded cooler.
We will look forward to your return!
Cannot wait to return to Sea Dreams on Captiva
We just returned from our vacation in Captiva and had a truly amazing time. The Villa Sea Dreams was spectacular and exceeded our expectations. We walked in a said WOW and it turned out to be one of the best places we have ever rented!
The home is absolutely gorgeous, fully appointed with top of the line amenities, and completely stocked for all of your needs right down to the extra large beach towels. The kitchen is well equipped with great appliances, utensils, blender, crock pot, electric skillet, and plenty of dishware. They even provide a wide variety of spices. The private webber grill is a great addition for those nights we wanted to cook out. The furniture and bedding are all like new, the entire home is very clean, comfortable, and top notch. The views from the Villa are breathtaking and the Captiva sunsets are a sight to behold right in front of you. You are so close (25 steps the sand) to the beach/ocean you feel like you are right on top of the water. Even though you are that close they still provide a wagon making carting the top of the line beach chairs (best we have even seen at a rental property) and umbrellas to the beach a breeze. The road in front of the house has very slow moving cars (20 mph) and very easy to cross so no real issue at all. The water was calm and crystal clear for all of our stay. The wild life and shelling is incredible. We saw many variety of birds, dolphin and manatee just feet from the shore line. The Village with all of the restaurants, cafes with outdoor music, art galleries and shops is a quick easy 6 minute walk by beach or road. The charm of the Village gives you a remote Caribbean Island feel but with all the amenities of main land Florida.
The owners (Dan & Dyan) and property manager made sure our vacation was be the best it can with a quick response to any questions that we had or assistance requested. Dan has also been very helpful in the past by providing other great rental alternatives when his homes were not available. His 30 years of knowledge really pays off when you want a honest opinion on location and quality of other rentals.
The complex of 20 units has beautiful tropical landscaping and stretches from the bay in the back to the ocean in front, a great set up for families. The pool area is a great place to relax after a long day on the beach. It was quiet and well maintained.
This was my family's second annual vacation to Captiva and stay in Villa Sea Dreams. This property is just lovely. Upon arrival you will notice how impeccably clean and well-cared for the home is. It is fully stocked with kitchen utensils, cookware, bedding, soaps, bath and beach towels, and updated beach gear (chairs, umbrellas, wagons, and toys), etc. You are mere steps from a beautiful pool, which (although shared with other units) is quiet, serene, and peaceful. Right across the street is the beach -- guaranteed sunset views every night. Around the corner from the pool is a dock where we enjoyed a cup of coffee at sunrise -- and spotted several manatee. The owner is accessible and a pleasure to work with. We love this place so much we've already booked for next year. I recommend this rental without hesitation.
