Back in the house and moving upstairs, you'll find two other large bedrooms, each with an en suite bath. From the top of the tower you'll be able to see how centrally located you are, including super easy access to the beach.
Although Anna Maria Island offers seven-and-a-half miles of uninterrupted Gulf-front beaches, lots of people will tell you that the best place to go is the Manatee Public Beach because of its many beachside amenities. Here you'll find a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner; an ice cream shop; showers and restrooms; a gift shop; lifeguards; and even live music on some nights. The best news is that a quick walk will take you from your Tuscan-style villa right to that gorgeous white sand and the crystal-clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

The house was pretty and served the purpose for our family but there were some things that are noteworthy.
Upon arrival of the home, we tried to unlock the door and spent about 15 minutes trying to get it to open. At first, we thought we had the wrong keys. We soon realized that the door was very warped and somewhat rotted at the bottom. Pieces were falling off at the bottom. Once we finally were able to get it open, We locked it back from the inside and just used the sliding glass door to get in and out. We were afraid of breaking the door completely.
Blinds throughout the house were missing pieces and/or broken. The door leading to the lookout on top of the house was missing a handle! It had a dead bolt and where the handle went, was a big round hole. We were a little surprised by this. Once we unlocked it and opened it, we had a hard time closing it all the way without slamming it. During our stay, a tropical storm came through and rain poured in through the handle hole!.. We had to improvise with tape and such to block the opening.
This is not the first time we have rented a home on the island but the first time that we experienced things like this. The only other thing that I found odd was that no one came the entire week that we were there to clean the pool. Other properties that we have stayed at, someone came through the night or early morning at least once or twice through the week to make sure everything is working properly and just normal cleaning and maintenance. This did not happen. After the storm, it was horrible. We cleaned it as much as we could but expected someone to show up and check for any issues due to the storm, but nothing. Upon reading the book in the home, it states that we were responsible for all of that during the stay and not to expect someone to come just because of the weather. We ended up not really using the pool that much because of this.
These were the major things that we encountered and would definitely deter me from renting from this owner again. If we decide to come back to the island next year, we will go back to the previous owners that we used in the past. Much better experience!
We really enjoyed our week at "Under the Tuscan Sun". Very spacious and nicely furnished. Kitchen had everything we needed. Bedrooms were good sized and it was nice to have 3 bathrooms. Only 1 block from beach, we did walk once but usually drove only because we had cooler, toys for kids, towels and beach chairs. Kids sure made good use of heated pool after they tired of playing at the beautiful beach - which had restaurant, bar, and gift shop. I think only drawback was lots of stairs - definitely not for anyone with mobility problems.
This was a fantastic property that was well taken care of and in a great location. The grocery store and beach were both within two blocks. The white sand beach was beautiful and perfect for swimming. The free trolley system took us all over the island. The backyard was a sanctuary for relaxation with the inground pool, grill, and palm trees. I would recommend this property to anyone and we will be returning next year.
