Overview

Ellijay Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Relax in a luxury vacation home with professionally designed interiors.

The owners have spared no expense preparing this mountain retreat for your enjoyment. With a perfect mixture of genuine antiques and modern amenities, CreekFalls Lodge welcomes you for what is certain to be a memorable relaxing escape. With something for everyone, this vacation home is the perfect destination for your family vacation or reunion with friends. It’s guaranteed you will have a hard time tearing yourself away when it's time to leave.

This custom built lodge features a well-equipped kitchen at the heart of the main floor, with both an island and a bar for cooking and gathering. The adjacent dining room opens up onto an expansive deck with a grill, rocking chairs and outdoor dining; convenient to both the kitchen and the beauty of nature overlooking the flowing creek. Also on the main floor is the great room with comfortable seating, a flat screen TV and a perfect view of the wood-burning fireplace which is surrounded from floor to vaulted ceiling with authentic river rock. A second screened in porch awaits on this same level with an outdoor fireplace and a six-person hot tub where you can soak away the stress of everyday life or any weary muscles you gain while on your mountain adventures.

CreekFalls Lodge has three bedrooms and three full spacious baths, with a king in the master, one queen on the main, and a custom built bunk bed in the basement with a queen on the bottom and an extra-long twin on top. There is a day bed in the loft with a twin trundle (two twins total) and a small loveseat in the great room that pulls out to another bed. In addition, there's a screened in sleeping porch with entrances from both the master and the loft. The sleeping porch has two queen size futons for tree house slumber while listening to the sounds of the rushing creek below. You and your guests will have no problem finding a place to rest after hiking, fishing and shopping through the North Georgia Mountains.

The basement of the lodge is comfortably outfitted for fun and entertaining. You will find a large entertainment center with flat screen television and surround sound, a billiards table, a massive wooden bar and a card table which easily converts to a bumper pool table. There are numerous board games, puzzles, card games and even a cornhole set you can play just outside the door. Oh, and let’s not forget… another deck. There are 3,000 square feet of decks overlooking the creek and the lower level is no exception. Chat with your friends and family in the comfortable seating area, relax on the porch swing, or enjoy a cold beverage at the rustic high-top table while the creek provides a soundtrack for your senses.

Though the surrounding area has miles of trails to hike, bike, kayak and explore; the lodge itself is set on 2.5 private acres of beautiful wilderness. There is plenty of flat land along our beautiful Anderson Creek to explore. Sit in the Adirondack chairs around the firepit and listen to the music of the creek, or take a dip to cool off and allow yourself to relax and be mesmerized by one of the many beautiful mini waterfalls along the creek. You'll discover quickly why the lodge is named 'CreekFalls.'

CreekFalls Lodge is conveniently located between downtown Ellijay and Blue Ridge’s Aska adventure area. Within an 8 mile radius are the famous Ellijay’s Apple Orchards, kayaking the Cartecay River, canoeing or rafting the Toccoa River, wine tasting at the Cartecay Vineyards, an easy hike to the Toccoa River swinging bridge on the Benton Mackay trail, a wonderful loop hike on the Appalachian/Benton McKay trails at Springer Mountain (one of the owners' favorites), fly-fishing, tubing, plus many more activities to choose. If you love shopping you won't want to miss the mixture of quaint, antique and modern shops and art galleries in Ellijay, nearby Dahlonega and Blue Ridge, or even the Outlet shopping in Dawsonville. Ellijay is the mountain bike capital of Georgia, and it would be a shame to leave your bike at home. For you roadies, you will enjoy the beautiful views, twists and turns along Big Creek, Doublehead Gap and Aska roads. You'll even find the beautiful Amicalola Falls State Park about 30 minutes away. The cabin is stocked with books and maps to help you find all of these areas very easily.

Other amenities: Wi-Fi, DirecTV, three flat screen televisions, DVD player, cellular signal, separate home phone w/ free long distance, laundry room, breakfast room / sun room

Enjoy your stay. You deserve the best!

About Jackie Vaughn & Ruth Meyer

We are like many of you, very busy professional 'worker bees' who need more time for a relaxing getaway than we allow ourselves. With a passion for the outdoors and adventuresome spirits, we just can't get enough of North Georgia. Things we do when visiting CreekFalls Lodge: Hiking the nearby Appalachian Trail, kayaking the Cartecay and Coosawattee Rivers, fishing in the Toccoa, shopping in Blue Ridge and Ellijay, discovering the many waterfalls in the area, wine tasting at Cartecay Vineyards, visiting R&A orchards and seeing what our favorite youngest owner is up to next (you will know when you see him), lying back on the driveway and viewing the brightest night sky we don't see anywhere else, relaxing in the hot tub next to the outdoor fireplace, enjoying the fire pit by the creek or simply reading a book on one of the beautiful decks.

Jackie Vaughn & Ruth Meyer purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Jackie Vaughn & Ruth Meyer chose North Georgia Mountains

We searched high and low for our perfect second home and your perfect vacation spot. CreekFalls Lodge has everything we wanted and a whole lot more. The first requirement was that when walking out the door of our lodge, we wanted to feel as if we had just stepped out of our tent to a beautiful creekside campsite. Privacy, natural beauty, and serenity were not compromises. We found all of this plus many luxury amenities within the lodge and the five decks. And all of this being only 20 minutes from Ellijay and 30 minutes from Blue Ridge. It really doesn't get any better than this.

Great place to get away from it all!

  • 5 of 5

The house was everything we wanted in a get away place. There was plenty to do right at the house (hiking by the creek, playing board games, relaxing in the hot tub, playing pool, watching movies, sitting on the decks listening to the creek) and there were a lot of activities within a reasonable driving distance. We went to an Atlanta Braves game, Six Flags over Atlanta, Amicalola Falls and Carters Lake. The house is beautiful and the fully equipped kitchen was very helpful! The only downside for our family was that there is only one bedroom on each floor. Neither of my kids would stay in the basement by them selves so that bedroom went untouched! There was plenty of other places for him to sleep though and he ended up on the trundle bed in the upstairs loft. Overall the house was great!

Perfection in Ellijay!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 2nd stay at Creekfalls Lodge and we enjoyed every minute of it once again! We stayed outdoors a little more this time and away from the lodge, enjoying tubing, hiking to the Toccoa Swinging Bridge, & whitewater rafting on the Ocoee. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed several of our favorite restaurants, adding a few new ones to our list! We cannot speak highly enough about this home and its location. We've already been trying to figure out when we can return - and much sooner than the two years we waited for this trip! Thank you ladies for sharing your home with our family!

Relaxation in paradise!

  • 5 of 5

This was exactly the vacation we were looking for! My family typically takes trips to the beach but wanted to do something different this year so we decided on a mountain vacation. We came in from several different states across the southeastern US so this was a nice centralized meeting place. I read the reviews beforehand and many people said the place was better in real life than the pictures and it's absolutely true. You don't feel like you're in a "rental" but walking into someones house with all the furnishings and amenities of home.

It's definitely in the woods but a short 10-15 min drive into town when you need something and after having lived in a bigger city for years now this was the perfect getaway from everything. There are neighbors but you'll probably never see them, I didn't even realize there were a couple of homes nearby at first because all the trees make you feel like your in a secluded forest. The owners are extremely responsive and go out of their way to ensure everything is perfect. It's obvious that they've put a great deal of planning and thought into every aspect.

We did some of the local things such as canoeing down the river and a lot of hiking. We made smores by the creekside fire out back. I definitely recommend going to see Amicalola Falls and, of course, the start of the Appalachian Trail if you're at all interested in hiking.

We definitely plan to go back again some day!

Beautiful and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

The cabin and accommodations are wonderful. It had everything we needed and it was decorated beautifully. The creek is located below the cabin but you could still hear it very well. Be prepared to get exercise walking to and from the creek but it is well worth it. The walk to the lake was also very beautiful. We would definitely stay here again.

Hated to leave!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay in this wonderful cabin. It was beautiful and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. It is in a wonderful location surrounded by beauty and within driving distance to so many wonderful places. We traveled with 2 families, 3 adults and 5 children. The cabin was plenty spacious enough to not ever feel like we were on top of each other. The kids loved playing in the creek and we all enjoyed campfires by the creek! I think Amicalola Falls was one of our favorite hikes! After the falls we drove down to Dahlonega and went to the Consolidated Gold Mine. Loved seeing the mine and learning the history there. We visited Blue Ridge one day. We were not crazy about Blue Ridge but loved our stop at Falls Branch Falls on our way back. Brasstown Bald was also something else we enjoyed. It was absolutely breathtaking views. We were really wanting to float one of the many rivers nearby but decided the water was just too cold. Hopefully one year we can make our way back and see all the rest that The Blue Ridge mountains has to offer.

CreekFalls Lodge is located between the exciting Aska Adventure Area and the famous Ellijay Apple Orchards. We recommend checking out R&A Orchards at any time of the year, not only for their amazing varieties of apples, but for their delicious Apple Cider and Apple Bread. For those of you adventurous types, try tubing, kayaking or canoeing down the Cartecay and Toccoa Rivers, only minutes away.
