Renovated 'Antique Fishing Cottage' w King MBR & Tw GB, 2 Baths, 2 Decks!

Wild Iris is my latest renovation project in Lubec and I am thrilled with the results! This lovely fisherman's home was built around 1900 and I have completely updated the entire cottage to maximize the views from its location on the hill overlooking Passamaquoddy Bay.

Wild iris now has an open floor plan on the first floor with kitchen, dining room and living room. The kitchen is completely new! All new appliances!

The dining room with wood floors has french doors leading out to a large deck that runs the full length of the house! You can plan your barbeque so that you and your guests may enjoy the spectacular sunsets from the deck!

The living room has wood floors and you can sit in comfort and watch the cable flat-screen TV!

There is also a full bath with shower on the first floor.

Upstairs you will find 2 bedrooms with wood floors and a full-size bath with shower/tub. One bedroom has a very comfortable king-size bed and the other has 2 twin beds (trundle) with new mattresses. There is also a washer and dryer on the second floor.

I designed Wild Iris so that each of the 2 bedrooms has access through french doors to another deck on the second floor which runs the entire length of the house! The views of the Islands in Passamaquoddy Bay from the second floor deck are simply stunning! You can sit and watch spectacular sunsets from your bedroom deck every evening!

Vacation renters at Wild Iris also have shared access to a large fenced-in grassy area (30' X 60') with a screen room. Well-behaved dogs who have permission to join us absolutely love hanging out with their owners in this secure green space!

We pride ourselves on keeping our vacation cottages in immaculate condition. You can be sure that when you arrive you will find Wild Iris to be 'squeaky clean' and incredibly comfortable!

I rented Wild Iris for the month of March and I cannot begin to describe how great this house is! The views of the islands -- all with snow on them -- is spectacular!! The sunsets have been deep purple and reflect off the water and the snow. For those special moments it seems like the whole property is bathed in the sun's glow! The house feels brand new. And I guess it is. Whoever planned and completed the renovation deserves a lot of praise. Some of the rentals in Lubec are pretty run down, but this place is like a castle! From the beautiful and awesome furniture right down to the luxury sheets and towels! This place is really special!

Take a short walk down the hill toward Water Street and you will find yourself 'on the working waterfront'! Every day is different!

You will see all kinds of lobster boats and other fishing boats as they work and bring their fresh catch to shore. You can catch the boat taxi to Eastport for lunch or dinner and see all that Eastport has to offer. Then take the boat taxi back to Lubec. Or, you can take a short drive over the bridge to Campobello Island, in Canada and take the ferry to various destinations, including Grand Manan (a great bike ride), or Deer Island (huge lobster pens).

Or, you can sit on one of your two huge decks and watch the boats go by as you wait for another spectacular sunset!

It is just a short walk to numerous restaurants, taverns, the bank and post office, grocery store and other shops located within the village.

Oh yes, did I mention that the seals come to feed at the breakwater for high tide? Or the various whale-watching and eco-tours by boat? And, did you know that there are numerous wonderful lakes close by if you are into kayaking or canoeing? You can rent kayaks and bicycles close by!

Did I forget to mention the great hiking you can do on the Bold Coast? I wonder what else I forgot? So much to do in so little time!

The guest bedroom has a trundle bed (can be made into two separate twin beds) with new mattresses. There is ample closet space, a bureau and sitting chair. There is also access to the second floor deck through french doors located in the guest bedroom.

Wild Iris is a special cottage located in a special town on the edge of America! We are located on a quiet, one-way street so you are 'in the Village' within walking distance to everything including numerous excellent restaurants, 2 taverns, shops, post office, grocery store and bank!

This 2 bedroom, 2 bath home is fully equipped, and well appointed. The owner is very responsive if you need anything. The house is close to everything in town and has two beautiful decks. I highly recommend it!

Wonderful place and near SummerkeyS

I spent a wonderful week here 2 years ago - the biggest negative was that we couldn't find any wild irises :). Spectacular views over the water from your roomy private 2nd floor bedroom deck, great 1st floor deck for dining or relaxing. We moved furniture around and had plenty of room downstairs for our string quartet and coach to work in. There's a well equipped kitchen. The owner is nearby to take care of any problems. The only issue we had at that time was somewhat slow internet (which is probably fixed by now). If you're looking for a great place to stay in Lubec, this is it.

Spectacular!

The house has EVERYTHING you need for relaxing, cooking and enjoying the beautiful sunsets. The owner went to great lengths to make our stay perfect. There were fresh cut flowers for us and it was clean as a whistle! She was super available if anything came up and seemed to really care if we felt at home. Without hesitation I would return.

Once you have received your Rental Agreement, please sign and send ONE CHECK for half of the Rental Amount, including the required 9% State Use Tax, for each week of your stay. If you have permission to bring your pet, please add the required Pet Fee. Please also include another SEPARATE CHECK for your $250 REFUNDABLE damage deposit, which I will promptly return (assuming no damage).
