My husband and I grew up in the Newport/Middletown area and chose to settle in Middletown when we returned from traveling the country for his company. We raised our children here and can't imagine living anywhere but close to the beach!
Madeline Turano purchased this house in 1990
My husband and I purchased this property in 1990. What stood here at that time was a small beach cottage that we renovated to it's current state in 2002. We designed and furnished it as a comfortable yet functional space. We have enjoyed living and raising our family here. We are building a home in the same neighborhood but would like to keep this property in the family. We feel by renting it to families we can help build some memories like the ones we have of enjoyed over the years!
Because of the way the property is situated on the lot we were able to design this home to take advantage of the unique views of the ocean, beach and Cliff Walk. We think you will agree that the ocean view is spectacular. It's proximity to the beaches and some dining establishments also make this the perfect home for a getaway or special occasion. We think you will enjoy your time here.
Very beautiful property. We enjoyed every moment. Breath taking views and great opportunities to explore nature's gift of oceans view and cliff walk. We would stay again when the opportunity permits. Also, wonderful cooperation with property managers and neighbors close to property. Newport at it's finest.
Located on desirable Easton's Point in Middletown, RI we are 2.5 miles from downtown Newport which boasts 5 star restaurants, hotels, as well as hundreds of shops. While downtown you can take a harbor tour, take a water taxi to Fort Adams, or Rose Island to see the world famous lighthouse. Enjoy a meal or cocktail at sunset followed by a leisurely walk around town or an ice cream cone at one of the many seasonal shops. During the daytime we suggest a day at one of the local beaches. Easton's Beach is located within walking distance. We provide chairs, coolers and a wagon for carting your gear. In 5 minutes you will be relaxing on the beach with no parking fees! If it's the sights and sounds of Newport's famous Cliff Walk you would like to see, we are located directly across the water from it. You can stroll the Cliff Walk and take in the Breaker's Mansion or any of the other Mansions located close by on Bellevue Ave. A scenic drive around the 10 mile Ocean Drive is always a treat. Stop and have a picnic at Brenton Point. Bring your own kite to fly or just admire the kites that fly there weather permitting. Biking the Ocean Drive is another option whether you bring your own bike or try a rental from one of the rental shops around town.
