A dream rental

  • 5 of 5

This property exceeded all our expectations. We had an exceptional stay only surpassed by the kindness of the owners who bent over backwards to make sure we had a perfect stay.

This is equivalent to renting your own floor of an actual palace but with all the modern amenities you could want.Think more than 30ft. celings with paintings on the ceiling but air conditioners that were powerful and quiet. The washer and dryer worked great and the nespresso machine a nice plus.

All the windows open (which are huge) so you can have a great cross ventilation too.Extremely conveniently located.Fabulous restaurants all within a block or two.Don't miss Druggerie di la rosa restaurant.

Simone ,one of the owners, waited half an hour to escort me and my daughter to a close parking place and then drove us with our luggage to the rental. We can't wait to return.

Wonderful CD collection and an amply stocked kitchen.A dream rental!

Beautiful Apartment in great location

  • 5 of 5

One of the highlights of our trip to Italy was Bologna. We definitely want to come back one day. We will make sure that we book this apartment. Everything was great. Very spacious. The pics were true to size which surprised me as most apartments are much smaller when you arrive. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms were nice and clean and kitchen had everything we needed. We even ate dinner there one night. You really felt like you were staying in a palace with the frescoes on the ceilings. Location was the best. Ilaria (the owner ) could not have been more accommodating and gracious in anything we needed. She helped with parking our car, suggesting great restaurants off the beaten path and just a kind individual in general. I feel that I need to address the washer as I read another review that said it was a problem. We used the washer three times and we had no problems with it at all. Ours clothes came out clean and no wear or tear at all. We were very appreciative that the apartment had it. I highly recommend booking this apartment if you visit Bologna.

Horrible all

  • 2 of 5

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I travel constantly and have NEVER given a bad review of any of the places I've stayed until now!

As you enter the courtyard, there is the smell of dank mustiness. You can see that there is a drainage issue as the courtyard is totally unkempt and full of mossy growth. The interior of the apartment is dark and lacks air flow, and the furniture lumpy and uncomfortable. The kitchen had inadequate lighting and needs updating. One of the bathroom showers was so tiny that it could only be used by a child who was under 4' tall and skinny!

But the worst of it, was that the washer or dryer totally RUINED ALL OF MY WHITE CLOTHES!!! Including my 2 favorite pair of AG Jeans and 2 new tops that I bought for the trip. I reported to the owner that the washing machine was banging violently and seemed to be in need of repair. She insisted that this was not a problem. When I took my clothes out of the machines, they were all stained, sprayed with what looked like grease-like stains.

When I let the owner know, she denied that it was her appliances that ruined my clothing! She refused to come down to look at them. Her husband finally came but they continued to refuse to accept the obvious.

All of the people in my party of 5 were shocked and upset by her attitude.

Finally, she said she'd have to report it to her "assurance" company and if they paid her she'd send me a check. Needless to say, her rudeness and disregard for my clothes makes me believe that she is just saying that to get me out of the country without having to reimburse me.

I feel that it is unconscionable that she refused to take responsibility and do the right thing. Stay at your own risk!!!!

Owner's Response: Mrs. D. was totally happy when arrived and checked the all house, including all the lights and the bathrooms. And she said she loved the ancient furniture we have (200 years old, a part from the kitchen which is 4 years old.). She personally used the washer and the dryer previous to fact of the ruined clothes and nothing was ruined. When she complained about the white clothes and the banging I called on the same day the producer of the machines (they came to check in the following days and only found that the tumbler was not totally fixed) and they assured me that there was no part of the machines where there could be any grease. I proposed to have them anyway cleaned by a professional cleaner or to shown him the "damange" to get an opinione but Mrs.D. refused and asked for money. I have the pictures (forward already to my assurance) that show a green straight stain on probably grass on one pant, a light brown circle strain (like coffee) on one top, and some tiny stains (like dops of vinegard or red wine). I am willing to show these pictures to anyone who would ask. Mrs. D. asked everyday for more money and would not listen when I explained that she would be reimbursed by the assurance company in case they find a damage. I have all the email she wrote to me asking for money immediately until the last one which I quote: "I have also written an honest and considered review(...) Of course, if I am wrong and you eventually do send me full reimbursement for my loss, I will remove the negative review accordingly".This I call BLACKMAIL. I hope that HomeAway will check the mails and pictures she sent and do something about these people asking for money like this. I will kindly answer any question prospective guests may have.
