Great Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The town is a hidden gem where people keep their doors open and say hello as you pass on the streets. Almost everything is walkable. The owner provides passes to the beach and parking. The Jameson's are great hosts and wonderful people.

A wonderful combination of old-fashioned charm, modern convenience, and proximity to the Bay.

Lovely cottage, as described. (Studio rental is separate.) Very comfortable for a couple. Simply but beautifully furnished. Very high quality linens and towels, including beach towels, a really nice touch. Renovated bathroom and kitchen, comfy mattress. Great cable, very reliable internet. An older property but clean and well-maintained, with a huge fenced yard and lots of privacy. Wonderful original artwork on the walls. Gary was a most accommodating and welcoming landlord. He allowed us to bring our two cats, who clearly took no time feeling at home. I would recommend this property to friends or relatives. We walked every morning on the Boardwalk (you get to know all the regulars) and kayaked nearly every day from the West Marina,, one mile away. One of the nicest features of the Seahorse Cottage was access to the tomato and herb garden, of which we made much use. Also loved the weekly Friday evening Farmers Market and the Chesapeake's Bounty produce store, but if you are a cook you may want to bring your own knives and favorite pans.

We stayed for three weeks in July/ August.

Great cottage, great location!

  • 5 of 5

Our family (family of four plus dog) enjoyed our time at the Seahorse cottage. The cottage was clean and well-appointed, with a terrific amount of kitchen supplies including coffee maker, blender, and cooking utensils. Towels, sheets, and blankets were all super soft and quality materials. The cottage had cable, wifi, and a DVD player, which was an awesome way to fill a rainy afternoon. The host has also provided Scrabble, Chess, and a jigsaw puzzle for quiet entertainment as well.

We walked to the beach, to restaurants, and to ice cream. At the Cold Penguin, we enjoyed great waffle cones and even got a beef-flavored doggie sundae (which was a big hit, BTW.) Around the corner is Neptune's, where we had good pizza and burgers. We were so close, I was able to run back to the cottage quickly for jackets when the restaurant got too cold. Thanks to the cottage we were able to keep our out-of-pocket costs pretty low.

Our host was very accessible and friendly. Gary and his wife live adjacent to the cottage and have lots of great recommendations for enjoying their town.

Delightful!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was more quaint than the pictures showed. My sister and I were very happy with the property. The house was clean, well equipped throughout and comfortable. It was nice to also find a washer and dryer available. We were able to let our two dogs out in the back yard without having to worry about them getting out. They had plenty of room to explore. We thoroughly enjoyed North Beach and the proximity of the Bay front pier and walking path, although it was unseasonably cold during our stay. We made fast friends with Sharon at the Wine Shop near the bay. :-) I am planning a trip later in the year and will definitely book this property again. Thank you, Gary and Betty!

I would recommend this property to friends as well as booking through VRBO, which I found to be easy to navigate.

Love the Seahorse Cottage and Gary too!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at the Seahorse Cottage in North Beach Maryland a block from the bay. It is pet friendly and when our two little dogs arrived they really seemed to remember the cottage yard and leapt around when we arrived. We love the airy and sunny space. Even though it was a rather cold and windy weekend, we enjoyed the time away and the warm and sunny kitchen. We went to the bay and walked the boardwalk with the dogs. We love the local color and the excellent seafood at the Neptune Cafe around the corner. Just a walk away. Gary the proprieter lives next door and is a gracious and kind host. We like the artistic spirit of the cottage and knowing that Gary is an artist is great too. Judith, Glen , Rosie and Sophie Kennedy Mazis
