About Melissa Myers

Gerry, an etched glass artist, and Melissa, an interior designer, purchased this 'building no one wanted' and our relationship to this historic property has been a longstanding love affair. We enjoy sharing it with others and have met a lot of fun and interesting people doing just that.

Melissa Myers purchased this apartment in 1996

Why Melissa Myers chose Central City/Garden District

Gerry had his Architectural Etched Glass business in this building for over twenty years.

What makes this apartment unique

Our location is like the old French Quarter with similar architecture, hidden courtyards, and very creative people living and working here. It has a village feel that we love.

This apartment has it all: sophistication and charm with coziness and comfort. The photos are accurate, but pictures can't capture the soaring ceilings, spaciousness of the rooms and the lovely architectural details. At Casabianca , everywhere we looked there were things to discover, from the wonderful art and artifacts collected in Melissa' travels down to the tiniest detail like a beautiful coaster. Melissa and Gerry are marvelous hosts and pointed us to some great neighborhood places. We loved Coquette and Juan's was fun for a good Mexican meal with a Créole twist. A week wasn't long enough ...we'll definitely be back, and I'd highly recommend Casablanca for a stay of an length!!

Charming Place!! A MUST Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming and beautiful apartment. As soon as you walk through the front door you feel as though you are stepping back in time, yet it has modern amenities. The interior design inside was elegant and very tasteful. The location was fabulous and neighborly, right in the heart of restaurants and shopping on Magazine Street. Go to The Tasting Room, it's on Magazine street just a block away! Gerry and Melissa were gracious and friendly hosts. The bed was super comfortable and the apartment was very large and spacious. Our favorite part was the balcony, we enjoyed the night breeze and cocktails. We are frequent visitors to New Orleans and this by far has been our favorite place to stay! Don't pass this vacation rental up!

The Casabianca was a truly lovely experience. A beautiful oasis at the end of the fun, busy and noisy days in the city. The apartment was stunning and spacious. The balcony was our favorite enjoying our morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. I would give it 12 stars if I could!!!

We Absolutely Love the Apartment on Magazine

  • 5 of 5

We love coming to visit New Orleans because of the apartment on Magazine. After a day exploring the city, we come home to graciously appointed rooms, filled with light from the floor to ceiling windows, listen to music and enjoy a glass a wine of the balcony - watching as the city comes to life at night. This is our third trip to New Orleans and we hope to go back soon. Truly one of our favorite spots!
