This renovated apartment (Dec 2014) is perfect if you don't want to stay in a boring hotel with no character: With a little bit of an airline theme (don't worry, it's a real bed, not a plane seat that reclines), lots of space (62 sq m. or 667 sq f.), a king size bed, washer and dryer, free wifi and apple tv to connect your electronics on the TV.

But most important, a quiet place in the middle of Auckland.

And if you are a cook, make this kitchen yours! (you will save on take out meals).

Do you know that many houses in New Zealand are not heated? 2G is a warm place by itself, but a gas heater will keep you warm if you feel chilly.

You will find bars, restaurants, supermarket and cinemas within 10 min walk

If you arrive by plane (you will certainly will), the airport bus will drop you only 1 street away from your new home.

Loft 2G is a unique home in this building: Nowhere you will find a dining and coffee table made out of (brand new) pallets, the bar is in an airline trolley, the bathroom and the living room both have mood lighting.

There is some construction nearby. I have purchased an extra set of windows in the bedroom to protect you from noise disturbance that might occur (work hours shall be restricted to the hours of between 7.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday, and 8.00am to 1.00pm Saturday).

Gay friendly, a New Zealand home with a Canadian inspiration (all this wood) and an airline feel

Check-in is from 4pm. Check-out is at noon.

Cancellation policy is as follow:

- Over 61 days prior to check-in: 75% refund (except VRBO fees)

- Between 60 and 31 days: 50% refund

- 30 days and less: no refund.

I am however flexible if you need to change your dates and the new dates are available: no fees at all, just the price difference (no refunds if the new dates are at a cheaper rate).

Why David, I am the owner chose Auckland

It was hard to find a 'New York Loft Style' unit in Auckland: we are new country and don' t have old buildings to renovate.

Loft 2G is in a classified building, ring in the center of Auckland.

My passion for Airlines shows in the unit: your rubbish bin will look like the one in the plane, and a seatbelt sign in the ceiling will remind you it is a non smoking unit (you are welcome to smoke on the balcony).

What makes this apartment unique

Location, style and equipment: You don't really need to bring anything with you...

I arrived at Loft 2G and found everything very clean & welcoming! The apartment is conveniently located in downtown Aucklad where it's easy to walk to many restaurants and stores. David was very accommodating & provided lots of items that helped the apartment to feel like a home away from home during my stay. Highly recommend!!

Convenient location, comfortable accommodations.

We enjoyed our stay in this unique apartment. David has had some fun decorating. The apartment was perfectly located for our needs as most of our activities were at Queen's wharf. Heavy construction hindered our access by the shuttle but wasn't too bad of a trek. Air conditioning would have been a plus as we had incredible weather. Everything we needed was there including travel info. Thank you David.

Terrific and creative apartment and incredible Auckland location

We stayed at this property and could not have been more pleased. It is spotless, comfortable and David the owner provides many welcoming snacks and beverages for your stay. The airplane theme is creative and whimsical. The elevator looks dated but works perfectly. We took the Sky Bus from the airport and only had to make one short transfer to wind up a block from the apartment. Easy and inexpensive. The less than 10 minute walk to the pier area made it convenient for our eventual cruise departure. We also took advantage of the Ferry terminal in a nearby location to go over to Waiheke Island for a half day of hiking. It is a very charming place and if you have the time we recommend it. Also at the pier area are numerous dining and drinking locations and we especially enjoyed The Crab Shack at the pier and Shakespeare Brewery on Albert Street. Both an easy walk from the apartment with numerous other choices in the same area. There is building construction next door but they are meticulous on the hours they start and finish and so did not impact our visit at all. Nearby grocery shops made getting supplies easy and convenient. We would definitely recommend this property and would stay there again. Tom and Sue

Wonderful location, all the amenities one could wish and then some.

David was so responsive to our questions. The loft is so imaginatively decorated- just as pictured. We will definitely return, if we are fortunate enough to get a reservation!!

Excellent property. Well appointed, spacious, and clean. Great location; central.

Love the decor and airplane theme. Nice spacious apartment, with lots of amenities. Easy walking to restaurants and transit is close. Great instructions for check in. Lots of construction around but manageable. We weren't in the loft during the day, so the noise didn't bother us. One of the top places we have stayed in. Thanks David!

Great location and value for your money

This loft is in the perfect location in downtown Auckland. Everything is a very short walk, bus ride or cheap UBER away. The loft is likely the most generous with regards to a welcome package and practical things in the event you decide to stay in to eat or watch TV. I was particularly impressed by all of the workout equipment - that came in handy a couple of times. A couple of tips - have coffee at the Allpress cafe for amazing coffee and pastries. Jervois was a fantastic fine dining experience and for a great after dinner bar, you must go to the "Caretaker" - we went there every night once we discovered it! David is a great host and always responds in a very timely fashion to any questions you might have!
