Capanna Cerreto is a private country villa nestled in 50 acres of vineyards and woodlands in Chianti. This former hayloft to the Castle of Cerreto has been totally transformed into a luxurious yet relaxed country home by its decorator owner.
The unusually large hand-forged windows and doors create a light and airy three-storey villa. There are two large, comfortable indoor living rooms on separate floors along with a beautiful summer sitting area under a pergola that runs the entire length of the house overlooking the pool. With breathtaking views and gentle summer breezes, the pergola is the ideal shaded spot for friends and family to gather for leisurely meals, conversations or drinks.
The villa has been designed with ample space to provide quiet, memorable moments. Leading off the entrance hall on the spacious ground floor is the living room with its large, open fireplace. The adjacent dining room and kitchen open onto the south-facing, wisteria-covered shaded pergola. Walk down the stone steps to the pool with a fragrant landscaped garden that offers the perfect place to relax and cool down on a Tuscan summers day.
Up on the first floor are three bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. On the large lower ground level, the sunny living room is ideal for families with a flat screen TV and DVD player. There are also three bedrooms on this floor including a charming corner bedroom.
This villa, with its complementary mix of antique and contemporary furniture, old handmade terracotta tiles and beautiful gardens, makes a recommended setting from which the many gems of Tuscany can be enjoyed.

Capanna Cerreto exceeded our every expectation. The villa was immaculately appointed, with jaw dropping views, even more beautiful than the photos lead you to expect. It was perfectly situated to explore Florence, Siena, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Pienza, and San Gimignano as day trips. One of the highlights of our trip was having Chef Graziella prepare dinner for us on the day we arrived. Absolutely the best meal of our trip! Salvatore, the on-site manager, is excellent! He made sure we were comfortable, had everything we needed, and even went to Siena to grab groceries for us because the nearby grocery store in Pianella was closed on the day we arrived! He is an absolute gem of a person!
Everything was super.
Manager Salvatore is an excellent person.
Helped us with everything.
We had an emergency with our 5 year old, and we woke him early morning, and he was sweet as ever and helpful as ever.
We wanted to do have dinner at home after a tiring day..he came to our rescue and picked up pizzas for us from nearby :)
And he's full of information..
It was a pleasure all in all.
Thanks very much..
Capanna Cerreto exceeded our expectations (which were high to begin with). The villa is even more lovely than it shows in the photos - spacious, immaculately clean, well appointed and equipped and very tastefully designed. Covered terrace overlooking the pool is fantastic, we spent most of our time lounging and enjoying meals out there. We were a party of 7 including 3 kids (ages 7-12), plenty of space for all and the kids loved the pool - perfect size, has both shallow and deep ends. Salvatore took great care of everything, from stocking our fridge on arrival to cleaning the pool each morning. Daily cleaning service from Mon-Fri kept everything looking clean and fresh during our stay. We also had a chef (Cindie) prepare dinner for us on three evenings and she made the experience so fun for our kids by letting them help with the food prep and service - food was delicious and the experience overall was the highlight of our two week trip (thank you chef!). We will definitely return!
We loved Capanna Cerreto. The villa is absolutely beautiful - rooms, beds, furniture, aesthetic were all stunning. The setting, views, outdoor spaces were gorgeous. We felt like we were in paradise. The location is great- close to Siena, Chianti wine country, and an hour away from Cortona, Florence, Montalcino, etc.
Capanna Cerreto was the perfect villa for our family vacation. We relaxed on the terrace, read by the pool, cooked great dinners after visiting nearby markets, and used it as a base for vespa and driving adventures to nearby towns and castles. It was comfortable for our group (adults, and one young baby) and a beautiful spot to spend the week.
Capanno Cerreto was everything our family imagined a Tuscan villa should be--beautiful views from every window, lovely furnishings that were decorator inspired and yet family friendly, incredible hospitality from Salvatore and Rosanna, and a location that gave us an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the pastoral countryside, as well as visit picturesque villages, wineries, and castles.
Because we had a 9 month on vacation for the first time, we needed a place for the entire family to call home for a week. It was absolutely perfect! We had amazing evening meals prepared for us by Chef Graziella's staff--Sara, Simone, and Cinzia--we even had a Tuscan cooking class at the villa!
From the moment we landed in Italy, Luxury Retreats 24/7 team answered our questions, helped with any request or change we wanted to make in our plans for the week.
