About the property

Cottage, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

Located in South Kona, 23 miles south from Kona airport.

Very private setting with beautiful view of Kealakekua Bay, Honaunau Beach Park and coastline view.

Cottage is surrounded with tropical trees, palms, blooming flowers and coffee trees.

We built this cottage few years ago with lots of recycling materials, carefully sorted and crafted . We used old red wood water tank boards for trims, recycled windows and doors.

We chose oriental decor, using light colors on walls , dark woods and Japanese collectibles (kimonos, dishes, bowls and plates, tea cups e.t.c.)

Cottage has 1 bedroom with 2 windows, sealing fan and a closet.

Bathroom has a porcelain tile soaking tub and shower .

Full kitchen , large fridge/freezer. All cooking ware and utencils.

Hidebed sofa in the living room, TV/Direct TV/DVD player.

Private parking lot with motion light for late arrival.

Favorite of all our guests is a Tiki Bar with hammock and 'magic rope lights' in the evening.

You can relax there drinking morning coffee from our farm or evening cocktail after hot day at the beach!

Best snorkel , kayaking, swimming beaches right down below.

It would take 15 minutes the most and you are in the water!

We have boogie boards, umbrella, towels, beach chairs and cooler for your convenience.

Local shops offering large variety of fresh produce, fish and everything you need for your meals.

Seasonal fruits such as papayas, bananas, pineapples, avocados and mangos can be picked on the farm.

If you choose to eat out, there are many different restaurants in close proximetries . Italian, Hawaiian, Pizzeria, organic bakery and lots of other tasty food places.

Farmers Market on Fridays and Sundays 2 miles from us. Many local vendors bring their produce, fruits, greens, macadamia nuts and crafts.

We, the owners are here to help and make your vacation pleasant and smooth.

You can always call and we answer your questions.

very nice property

Very nice, clean and well equiped property in a nice green surrounding. Fresh fruits and eggs when we arrived. Maybe difficult to find, but with the good description no problem. Good place to come back.

Wonderful Paradise 1-Bedroom Cottage near Captain Cook and Kealakekua Bay

  • 5 of 5

We chose to return to this beautiful cottage nestled in a lush tropical paradise. Our first visit to this cottage was April 2013- we spent 10 days living with the Hawaiian wildlife (birds, turkeys, geckos, to name a few) and loved every minute. We just returned from another 10 day visit at Mike and Vika’s “Honeymoon Cottage”. Upon arrival, we were generously treated from Mike and Vika’s farm fresh produce, fresh eggs, and their own roasted coffee. Since our 2013 visit, the owners have remodeled the bathroom from a soaking tub to a large shower for easy access. The new living room sofa is a comfortable hideaway bed. We loved using the kitchen, including using the new microwave above the refrigerator (not shown in the photos). We entertained our local friends using the outdoor Tiki bar and watching the sunset from the lanai. Extra comfort included the lush fluffy bath towels, soft bed linens, to the extra large bench towels. We arrived with cooler weather and Vika provided the extra “throws” for the living room sofa. If we needed anything, they would provide items to make our visit better. If you want to experience the true Hawaiian Spirit, this is the place to stay.

Perfect place for Quiet Peaceful Get Away!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin has everything you need. Its in a great location to get to both sides if the island. Very cozy place to stay. Ths owners are very friendly and helpful if you need anything. Its so quiet it was exactly what we needed to recharge our batterys. Unbelievable view of ocean from the front room while you eat breakfast. The tiki bar is fun too for an afternoon beer. If you like to snorkel lots of gear at the cabin you can use. Great snorkeling is very close. The bed is very comfortable. It gets cooler and night for great sleeping weather. We very much enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.

Beautiful, private get-away

  • 4 of 5

This lovely little cottage is off the beaten track, but still close to many areas of interest. Everything we needed was provided. The owners are friendly, but respect the privacy of their guests. A special treat was having Vica's mom do our laundry for us!

Cute private cottage on chocolate farm south of Kona

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our four-night stay in the one-bedroom cottage on Viktoriya's and Michael's small chocolate and coffee farm on a hillside overlooking Kealakekua Bay. The cottage is probably best described as rustic chic, but had all of the amenities we would have wanted in a gorgeous location graciously hosted by long-time residents of this somewhat rural setting outside of the normal tourist haunts of Kona. The location is down a steep winding road, but is all the more private and secure because of that. The cottage was built as a honeymoon cottage, and is perfect for a couple, though it could accommodate a small child or two on the pullout couch. The kitchen is workable. The view is spectacular. There is great grocery shopping and some restaurants and amenities nearby, and it is close to the trailhead for the hike to the Captain Cook monument and spectacular snorkeling there. Not a fancy or particularly updated place, but perfectly suited for a peaceful stay in a gorgeous place. We would book again in a heartbeat.
