Quiet and secluded with great view
We enjoyed our stay. The fresh fruit and coffee were delicious. Michael was very helpful with suggestions. We were very thankful for the beach equipment and towels to use. We had a great time in Captain Cook and on the Big Island!
Hard to Beat
The Honeymoon Cottage is on a 17-acre farm. We were given all the Kona coffee and fruit we needed for out entire stay. The landscaping was more lush than you can imagine, a real tropical paradise. There is complete privacy and a real feeling of being safe. There is an outside covered bar with views of the ocean. We enjoyed out happy hour there every day.
Our hosts, Mike and Vika, allowed us our privacy, but were also very warm and friendly. Vika came up midweek with an extra bowl of fruit and a package of cocoa nibs. When we first got there, Mike showed us around the grounds, even taking down a cocoa fruit, cutting it open and telling us about the process of harvesting it. You can't be around Mike without learning some cool things about farming on Hawaii or growing tropical plants.
If we come back to the Big Island - and there is a good chance we will, we will undoubtedly want to spend another week at the Honeymoon Cottage. It will be like coming home.
Thank you, Vika and Mike, for your wonderful hospitality!

Close to so much yet a secluded retreat.
My husband and I arrived late Thanksgiving night and Mike graciously rescued us when I fumbled punching in the gate passcode. As many have noted, Vika and Mike make you instantly welcome.
The very best thing about the cottage for us was the location. Quieter beaches, super snorkeling and good restaurants. The property has lovely landscaping and nature abounds. The cottage is very open to nature with large screened windows, so you need to be a fan of that. Some little harmless critters will want to join you.
Wireless connection was spotty but I know they are working to improve it. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. If peaceful and affordable are high on your list, the cottage is a good choice.
secluded Hawaiian cottage
Fresh fruit on arrival was enjoyed on our stay. Really liked large screened windows, opened day and nite to truly experience living as close to outdoors as possible, never needing to close up as temp does not change much. Walking in 11 acres and viewing flowers and fruit hanging from trees for picking when ripe.Outside deck covered launa with barbecue, hammock was peaceful in evening. remember to use insect repellent as nosem bugs are lurking nearby.

Great view nice house loved the tiki bar!!!!
Very relaxed secluded botanical garden of Hawaii . Scenic and private . Nices
The kona coffee harvested by Mike and Viktorya is available but also the best coffe you'll ever have. Nicest host I ever met. Two lovely dogs, bird and chickens that are stay at home. Excellent bed for long restful sleep. Turn key home away from home.
Cottage is located in midst of a working Kona Coffee and Cacao Farm (chocolate). See the steps of the process, see the coffee and the chocolate growing on the trees!
