Stone Mountain State Park Cabin Rental Photos and Description

1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 2

Welcome to the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains! You have just found the closest and most unique Vacation Rental to Stone Mountain State Park, North Carolina's largest state park.

Our cabin is located less than 1 mile to the entrance of Stone Mountain State Park where you will find magnificent Waterfalls, historic landmarks, hiking trails, mountain climbing and much, much more!

Imagine're sitting on the front porch of a beautiful log cabin, enjoying the cool, fresh mountain air. Now...look out below and you will see a 70 mile panoramic view featuring every shade of the color green spread out over a wide forested valley and time softened mountains. White clouds hang like dollops of meringue in the Carolina blue sky.

Now...look east and you will see Pilot Mountain ('Mt. Pilot' as it was referred to on the famous Andy Griffith TV show). And on a clear day, you can see the tall buildings in downtown Winston Salem, NC, over 50 miles away!

And at night...Wow...the twinkling night lights in the valley are breathtaking and soooo romantic!

Natural beauty of the magnitude is so inspiring and a true feast for the nourishes the soul.

It will be equally magnificent when Autumn leaves paint it red, copper, bronze and gold; when winter snow blankets it with a sparkling layer of sugar white, and when spring shoots, buds and flowers inundate it in a sea of lacy pastel foam.

Our Stone Mountain rental cabins are the perfect vacation spot for all seasons!

About Ed Jenkins

Martha and Ed Jenkins have been in the vacation rental business since 1998. Ed grew up in the flatlands of eastern NC and never saw a mountain until he was 18 years old. He fell in love with the mountains and now enjoys sharing the thrill and inspiration of the majestic mountains of North Carolina.

Ed Jenkins purchased this cabin in 2009

Why Ed Jenkins chose High Country & Blue Ridge Mountains

Stone Mountain State Park is the LARGEST State Park in North Carolina. It features, rushing streams, hiking, biking, trout fishing, water sliding, picnicking plus historical sites. In our opinion, it is without a doubt the prettiest state park in NC!

What makes this cabin unique

Our cabins are centrally located so you can spend the day at Mt. Airy (AKA: Mayberry), Pilot Mountain, Boone, Jefferson, Roaring Gap, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, Sparta, Blue Ridge Parkway, Golf Courses and many Wineries. Stone Mountain State Park is only 1 mile away!

Great cabin, good location for stone mountain state park

Great place, perfect get away spot for very reasonable price. Whirlpool tub perfect after hiking to dome. Beautiful view. Can be windy so outside fire not always an option.

Cozy and secluded

  • 4 of 5

The location was nice. Right at the entrance to the state park. Very secluded and cozy. Not a lot of restaurants close by but we knew that going in. The general store up the road has basic sandwiches pizza grilled cheese hot dogs hamburgers which worked in a pinch. Ps-no beer

The only cons I can comment on was that the bed was very loud and sqeaky and a "small" full mattress. The mattress could use updating.

The kitchen consisted of a hot plate and we ended up cooking scrambled eggs in the stainless steel pot because all the frying pans were beyond usable. With that being said, this cabin doesn't advertise is having a full kitchen and or being kitchen friendly. I guess it's to be expected when you're cooking on a hot plate. And the price was reasonable as well.

Overall, the place was clean and cozy and friendly and secluded and that's what we wanted.

Wonderful Peaceful Weekend

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures. The cabin has everything you need in a small package. This was exactly what I needed to get away for a weekend and enjoy quiet, solitude in nature. I even had chocolates on my pillow when I arrived. I would highly recommend this small oasis.

This was one of the best experiences of my life!! I would encourage anyone to go to the cabins and get away from the businesses of life! From beginning to end the entire experience in the cabin was wonderful. The mountain views are breath taking and the peace truly gives you a chance to catch up to long lost sleep!! I didn't have to bring anything, everything you think you would need they had it in the cabin ready to go, nothing was left behind. Do not be skeptical, GO! It will be money well spent!

What a View!

  • 5 of 5

This was a nice cozy cabin with a great view, day or night, but early mornings were our favorite. There were a few features that we didn't see listed on this site: satellite on a newer better tv than the one pictured with a DVD player instead of VCR pictured, AC window unit, nicer charcoal grill than one shown, and a closest for storage, in one of the pictures you can barely see the couch but there's a couch too, there's also a loft with a mattress that I assume will hold 2 according to the journal written by previous guests but you probably have to go directly through the owner to have more than 2 guests. There is also another cabin very similar to this one right down the road. So if you are traveling with a larger group you could rent both cabins. The owner was great to work with and was very easy to contact. We loved the old fashioned feel of this newer cabin. The State Park is right beside it. It was very easy to find, just follow the state park signs. Your pets are not allowed on the furniture. Your fees are the cheapest I've ever found. Thanks for letting us stay here.

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at cabin 2 was wonderful. I have to say from looking at tge pictures the cabin looked very small. After we arrived we were amazed at tge size of this cabin. It was very clean and very accomidating. Every essential needed for a wonderful stay was included. Without a doubt I will be staying at this cabin again. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Thanks!!!!!
