A beach pass for Town of Aquinnah beaches is included for weekly guest use. Beaches included are Lobsterville Beach, West Basin Beach, Red Beach, At the Cliffs Beach and Herring Creek Beach.

If you are planning to bring a vehicle to the Island for your vacation, please make reservations for your car as soon as possible.

This property has been held in the Nuovo Family since the late 80s. In 2013, This property was transferred from Father to Daughters. It is managed by Jay Menesale. It was been looked after on the Island by the same caretaker for over 20 years, who has fond memories of times spent with the Father who so enjoyed his time hunting and relaxing in Aquinnah.This property has been passed down through generations, and has a few renters who have been coming to this same house for more than 20 years. That speaks volumes for the home, the owners, the location, and the care they receive while enjoying their vacation. You won't be disappointed.

What makes this house unique

The ocean views from the 2nd floor living room, dining area and kitchen are spectacular. Ceiling fans and AC units. Close walking access to the beach. A beach pass for Town of Aquinnah beaches is also included. Beaches included are Lobsterville Beach, West Basin Beach, Red Beach, At the Cliffs Beach and Herring Creek Beach.

The house was perfect for us, and very well maintained. It was just a 5 minute walk to the beach, and a short drive to Menemsha. I would definitely recommend the house to friends.

Relaxing,private,enjoyable

Loved the view,access to beaches and cliffs and also can take the bus to town for a few dollars! Would highly recommend this house,all amenities of home are here, you won't be disappointed!

Enjoyable Escape

This home has everything you need to relax and recharge. While my teenager took his friend on tours of the island, I was content to sit on the deck with a book and the gorgeous view. We had family over one night for dinner and every possible cooking tool was available, including what looked like a brand new Webber gas grill. Some of the best beaches on the island are minutes away by car, or if like me, your son has the car, you can walk down the street to Lobsterville Beach. Hope I can get back here soon!

Privacy, ocean view, peaceful and a short walk to the beach on beautiful Martha's Vineyard. This Friday to Friday rental has celebrity homes in view, nature and wildlife spectacular right on the property - what could be better?

2.4 Miles Away, high atop the beautiful cliffs of Gay Head rests an equally magnificent lighthouse. A lighthouse has operated on this site since 1799, with the current 51-foot structure holding court since its construction in 1856. The site is generally closed to the public due to problems with erosion but tours of the lighthouse are given by the historical society by appointment. The lookout in Gay Head offers a good view of the lighthouse, and you can see the original fresnel lens at the Martha's Vineyard Historical Society in Edgartown.

The cliffs on the westernmost end of Martha's Vineyard are an amazing sight. The Wampanoag Indians appropriately named the area Aquinnah, meaning 'High Land' because of the 150-foot high, rainbow-colored cliffs. For years the town was referred to as Gay Head because of the magnificent cliffs. Then, in 1987, descendants of the native Wampanoag people were recognized as a tribe and the name officially changed back to Aquinnah. The new generation of the Wampanoag tribe owns a number of shops, restaurants and acres of surrounding land.

Menemsha Fish Market is the Owner's favorite spot for fresh catch and sunsets!

The village of Mememsha is just 6 miles away. This excerpt is from the Martha's Vineyard Magazine: 'Menemsha is in Chilmark, but it doesn’t seem of Chilmark. There is no three-acre zoning in Menemsha, no private beaches with six-figure keys, no massive estates nestled secretly in the wooded hills down rutted dirt paths passable only by Land Rovers. The drama in Menemsha plays out in full view, and is accessible by bus. There are cheap eats, a little beach, public bathrooms, piles of junk lying about, and gas station coffee. Another side of Chilmark is visible over the dunes – huge multi-million-dollar houses perched above the sea. The juxtaposition makes Menemsha so necessary, so needed. Chilmark’s past and present, the Island’s past and present, together in the frame.......

......Sitting on a bench behind Menemsha Fish Market, eating a grilled salmon teriyaki sandwich. The warm noon sun is overhead, so there is no shade. A lobsterman in jeans and rubber boots uses a pitchfork to load skate from a plastic bin on the dock into a barrel on his boat. People in shorts and flip-flops walk down the warm planks of the dock, licking soft-serve cones, and ask him about his task...................

...........What would Menemsha be without fishermen at work?........The goal: “To maintain the visual character of Menemsha as a small fishing village.” And “Assure the priority of commercial fishing boats [over] pleasure craft.”............

...... The sand and water are popular all day, but sunset is the star attraction. You can pick up a boiled lobster to take to the beach for dinner (order ahead), and sit on the cooling sand to watch the sun descend into the sea near Cuttyhunk. The wispy clouds turn fiery orange, and the boats moored offshore pose for snapshots. When the sun hits the horizon, applause, and then the place clears out.' ~Martha's Vineyard Magazine, 2012

Menemsha Hills Reservation features 211 acres of woodland, rolling hills and sand cliffs, with 150-foot high headlands overlook the sea. There are over 3 miles of foot trails that lead past ancient stone walls through blueberry woodlands to the beach. On any given day harbor seals and flocks of scoters (sea ducks) are said to come ashore, adding to the scenic mile-long trail that runs to Prospect Hill, with a spectacular view of Gay Head.
