Double French doors provide a lovely view of the back yard with the look and feel of an English garden enhanced by a towering Mountain Ash. Enjoy your morning coffee out back on the deck--or watch the morning news in the living room--on a 55 inch flat screen TV.
The home features three bedrooms and two baths. The master has a king-size bed, flat screen TV, and a bathroom with shower. The other two bedrooms have double beds, and one can also serve as a study, complete with desk, and free wi-fi for your convenience.
The remodeled kitchen is fully equipped with all you need for preparing your own meals. Or, if you'd prefer to eat out, the historic downtown village is less than a five minute walk, and is full of delicious eating places. Want to go into LA? The metro station is even closer than the Village! Need to go to the Colleges? They start just two streets over with the first being Pomona College. Have a dog that needs some exercise? The Claremont 'Pooch Park' is one street over from this home. Yes, this home is dog-friendly. In order to keep the home in tip top shape, it is necessary for us to limit the size of pet permitted -- a maximum of 45 pounds.
You might like to take a short trip to the mountains…just 45 miles away to the east……or the beach…just 45 miles to the west…or Disneyland…just 27 miles to the south. Whatever you choose you will find easy access to both the 10 and 210 freeways.
Property restrictions include the following: Smoking is not allowed -- neither inside nor outside of the property. Driveway holds 3 cars, max. Claremont Police do not allow overnight parking on the street & do administer tickets.
Reservations may be granted upon confirmation of number of guests and acceptance of the rental agreement. The home is not available for over six guests. Both Mary and I grew up in Texas but were thrilled to make our home in Claremont after our three children were grown. I retired from dentistry after practicing 30 years and Mary recently retired after having been a teacher, a licensed professional counselor, and a Pastor.
Claremont is the 'sweet spot' of southern California. Not only does it have beautiful weather, but the community is vibrant with many small colleges and a leadership that builds on happy families and happier dogs! The downtown Village is one of a kind for the area and is becoming the 'place to be' on Friday nights to enjoy a lively small town with wonderful music and food venues.
Jim and Mary have equipped their property with everything you may need for your home away from home. Even down to ear plug supplies and white noise machines if the train whistle bothers you. ( I happen to enjoy the sounds of a train)
The Metrolink station is a three minute walk and gets you into LA in about an hour.
The home is comfortable and the backyard is so relaxing. Please Treat their home wth respect so they continue to rent it in the future.

As always the Hollifields are great host and so easy to communicate with. We have stayed here many times and every time is a great experience.
Excellent location that is close to both I-10 and to the 210. The house is very well maintained and very comfortable (nice furniture and amenities) and has a large back yard. One minor negative is that the master shower is a little small. I was totally fine but I think that a large person might need to use the shower/bath combo that is in the shared bathroom which is used by the other two bedrooms. Not a big deal but worth noting. The neighborhood seemed safe. We were within walking distance to good restaurants and shopping. If I find myself in Claremont again, this will definitely be my first choice for a VRBO rental.
It's a very nice, clean and well maintained cottage in Claremont that is located near Claremont Village. The house is well laid out and was stocked with everything we needed: towels, linens and cookware. The backyard is nicely landscaped and very inviting. It's a comfortable place to relax and has a hammock, tree swing and porch swing. The owners are accessible if you have any questions or problems and provide a binder with information on Claremont and the surrounding area. We would definitely recommend this house to our family and friends.
We have stay in this house on several occasions and feel as though this is truly our home away from home when visiting my daughter at college. Jim is always easy to communicate with and we like the changes they have made to the back yard. Really enjoyable to have breakfast outside or just sit and read. They have thought of everything to make our stay comfortable.
Sunset magazine has named Claremont the "Best Suburb in the West" and that is certainly a well deserved honor. The multitude of colleges in the city and the wonderful attention to landscape has resulted in the nickname, "the city of 'Trees and PHD's'." The vibe is family friendly, dog friendly and bike friendly. All in all, a great place to raise a family and enjoy the beauty of the world's greatest weather and location.
