Lovely place. Location is convenient although somewhat difficult to find by taxi. We had an excellent experience in Kyoto.
I was with a group of 6 adults and we fit very comfortably in the home. The host was very responsive to my emails and was present when checking in to explain everything! The house is about a 10 minute walk from two major train stations. Highly recommend!
If you're looking for traditional Japanese accommodation, this please is definitely what you're looking for. Too bad we didn't stay longer.
We liked the location of this house near Fushimi Inari Shrine and the station. It was very clean. We had 10 people stay here (4 adults and 6 children under 10 yrs). Everyone had room to sleep, but there was not a lot of room for lounging. However, this was fine for us as we left the house first thing in the morning and stayed out all day in Kyoto returning just to shower and sleep. It was great for that purpose. Fushimi Inari Shrine is awesome at night!
Nice & clean machiya in a very calm area. Good base for Kyoto tourism at your own pace. Friendly owner. Fushimi-Inari jinja is very close so you HAVE to take a stroll there by night. Just beautiful.
Authentic experience, the positive surprise of our trip to Japan.
Quiet neighborhood, in walking distance from Fushimi Inari Shrine. The host is very friendly; e.g., weather got colder during our stay and we were provided with additional blankets (not that they are needed - the house was already well equipped. Just an example of hospitality.)
