The guest house is located in the Fushimi area of Kyoto, where there are many historic attractions that are great for sightseeing. It's a small and homely guest house near Fushimi Inari, the building of which has been remodeled from an old Machiya.
JR Inari Station (15 min), Kyoto Station (10 min), Tofuku-ji Temple (11 min), Kiyomizudera Temple) (25 min), Toji Temple (12 min), Gion (27 min)
Seven Eleven (2 min), McDonald's (5 min), Drug Store (8 min), Sukiya (10 min), Supermarket (10 min), Ramen Shop (10 min), Bank (12 min), Family Mart (12 min), Home Center Konan (12 min), Supermarket Matsumoto (12 min), Subway Kuinabashi Station (13 min), Supermarket LIFE (2 min)
Everything about the house was wonderful. Seven of us stayed for two weeks, and it was an experience unlike any I've ever had before. You really get to have a lifestyle unlike anything I'm used to at home in America, everyone living in such close proximity.
The style was lovely and the neighborhood was great; a 7-11 right nearby for snacks and easy access to an ATM, a bus stop about 4 minutes away on foot, two train stations (Keihan Line and JR Station) about 10 minutes, and Fushimi Inari maybe 15 minutes down the road.
If you just want a regular, hum-drum vacation, maybe look into a hotel, but if you really want a Japanese EXPERIENCE, then Guest House KOTO is perfect.
Lovely place. Location is convenient although somewhat difficult to find by taxi. We had an excellent experience in Kyoto.
I was with a group of 6 adults and we fit very comfortably in the home. The host was very responsive to my emails and was present when checking in to explain everything! The house is about a 10 minute walk from two major train stations. Highly recommend!
If you're looking for traditional Japanese accommodation, this please is definitely what you're looking for. Too bad we didn't stay longer.
We liked the location of this house near Fushimi Inari Shrine and the station. It was very clean. We had 10 people stay here (4 adults and 6 children under 10 yrs). Everyone had room to sleep, but there was not a lot of room for lounging. However, this was fine for us as we left the house first thing in the morning and stayed out all day in Kyoto returning just to shower and sleep. It was great for that purpose. Fushimi Inari Shrine is awesome at night!
Nice & clean machiya in a very calm area. Good base for Kyoto tourism at your own pace. Friendly owner. Fushimi-Inari jinja is very close so you HAVE to take a stroll there by night. Just beautiful.
