My family & I loved this wonderful little place. Everything was comfortable and what a great place to come home to after a long day of sightseeing! Owner was great too!
We enjoyed our stay at your cottage. It provided the perfect basecamp for our exploration of the Black Hills. We were grateful for how well you stocked the cottage with supplies for travelers: tissues, baggies. Towels (and more towels!), soap &shampoo, the pots & pans, refrigerator & microwave, the radio/cd player, and so much more. We also really enjoyed the gazebo and porch swing. We were able to see the Custer Pageant Hill firework from the front lawn! What an unexpected teat!
Thank you again.
We (husband and wife) spent 7 nights in Dot's Vacation Cottage and found it a very good "basecap" for our exploration of the Black Hills: Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Jewel Cave, Wind Cave, Custer State Park. The cottage was well-stocked with cleaning and personal care products of all kinds, a blow dryer, cups and plates and pots and pans, as well as some food basics, a big screen tv and dvd/vhs player (and tapes and dvds), a boom box. and a couple fans. It was nice to come home each evening to a quiet, spacious cottage with comfortable beds. We only needed to run the air conditioning a few days (and never at night!). The wife loved the gazebo for her early morning prayer time. And we watched the City of Custer Fourth of July Fireworks from the front yard of the cottage. Being a mile west of town meant we could see the blanket of stars overhead, but we were close enough to walk into town each morning to get the daily paper. The well water took a little getting used to, but Dot provided more than ample bottled water for cooking and drinking. We used the "fluff and fold" laundromat The Lost Sock that Dot recommended and were quite pleased with their services. Although Custer is a small town it has a wide selection of good restaurants and two grocery stores that we patronized.
Thanks for letting us use your vacation cottage – Everything was so nice – You provided a number of things for our use. We enjoyed staying here
We enjoyed a peaceful week at Dot's. We were able to visit the Badlands, Mt Rushmore, Devil's Tower and many other area attraction while knowing we had a lovely homebase waiting for us. Great for families who are looking for a home away from home.
