Need a break away from the hustle and bustle? Then grab the family and friends and head to the lake. Don?t forget that book and fishing rod too!
This delightful Lockwood home is set within ¾ acre of gardens, lawn and bush. It is on a no-exit road, away from the busy highway, and is fully fenced, making it very private and quiet. You will have a sense of being in a real retreat. There is a playground on the reserve 3 houses away if you bring little people with you.
Lake Rotoma is the best kept secret of all the lakes in the Rotorua District ? its pristine waters offer excellent trout fishing all year round and great water sports in the summer (or all year round if you dare!). There is safe swimming on the main sandy beach with trees and tables for picnics. There are several water ski lanes around the lake. The nearest boat ramp is by the store, 1.5km away. When the water is a little too chilly or the muscles are aching, then take in the local soda springs and embrace its mineral qualities and warmth.
The house is fully furnished and comfortable. A wood burner makes the house cosy in the winter. The kitchen has a microwave, stove, frig and freezer etc and you can talk together as you do the dishes by hand (there is no dishwasher). There is a TV with DVD player (sorry, no freeview at the moment). There is a small stereo with an iPod dock, and wireless broadband for the internet.
Once you have recharged your body batteries, there are options for action in the large garage: table tennis, three kayaks and two adult bicycles. Life jackets and helmets provided.
There is plenty of space for parking a boat on the lawn.
When the hankering for a cappuccino gets bad, then head to the local café. They do nice meals ? eat in or takeaway! The café is located 1.5km from the house and next to the local store which sells petrol and general items. Kawerau is about 20 minutes drive, Rotorua is 30 minutes and Whakatane about 40 minutes.
No smoking in the house - remove butts from outside.
Extras: extra occupants (Optional, NZ$15.00 per person); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave; Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);
Warm and cosy in the winter
Cozy place, serene and quiet ideal place to relax
Fantastic property had a great week, really nice situation with the bush and gardens. Looking forward to staying again.
Such an amazing property surrounded by trees and wildlife. Great for families with children and for people just wanting to relax and getaway. Close to the lake and also to the boat ramp which made for easy days on the lake. Loved it!
