|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
A comfortable, modern holiday house with most conveniences.
The main living area combines a full-sized kitchen, dining and lounge. Prepare dinner in the fully equipped kitchen, while other guests gather round the granite-topped island. We keep a decent supply of plates, cups and glasses etc.
There's a 6 place dining table, and the lounge features a large comfortable leather couch. You can bring movies on a USB stick and plug them into the TV.
Sliding doors open out to the front and back decks. The master and 2nd bedrooms and study also open to decks.
The shower is tile and glass, and large.
The study has a decent sized desk and you can connect to the Internet via Wifi or cable.
We are located almost at the end of the peninsula, up top. There's no through traffic, so it's lovely and quiet. It's within walking distance to the beach, the peninsula walkways, the seal colony and 5 minutes drive from the town centre.
While we handle the rental of our holiday home remotely (we live in CHCH), we pass on the rental details to our neighbour, giving the added safety that someone local is usually available to assist. Our neighbour also does deep tissue and relaxation therapeutic massage, foot reflexology and breathing meditation reiki.
EARTHQUAKE UPDATE (12 Dec 2016):
Our house was not damaged and we are accepting bookings again. Most shops and restaurants are open. Check with fishing charters and Whale Watch directly. I do know Dolphin Encounter, Seal Swim and Kaikoura Kayaks are running.
The crayfish fishery has been reopened, following surveys that have determined that crayfish numbers have been largely unaffected.
Make sure you understand the upper South Island road situation. The only roads into Kaikoura are from the South - the inland and and the coast road. If you are coming from the North, it is a long drive - I do not recommend driving from Nelson or Blenheim in 1 day. See the NZTA website for the latest info.
You can also fly into Kaikoura.

Wonderful mountain views
Wonderful views of Kaikoura Mountains. Very quiet and sunny home. We had a family weekend there and celebrated my father's 88th birthday. The place was fabulous as was the massage lady next door. Maaike gave 3 of us amazing relaxation massages. We would love to come back.
