Lovely cottage - especially the fire in cooler times.
This is an old cottage, but very comfortable and excellent value. It's very conveniently placed for Arthurs Pass village.
Gorgeous location and character full cottage. It was a very cold weekend and although the log burner pumps out a lot of heat, with no heat source in the bedroom area it was hard to keep the whole house warm. The electric blankets were a life saver although there were only 3, meaning we couldn't use the top bunk. The water pipes froze outside the property so we had no water for the last night, but I guess you need to expect these sort of things in an alpine local. Overall we really enjoyed it.
We had a fantastic mid winter holiday in the mountains at Arthurs Pass. The walking tracks were great and it was good to be able to pop down to the township and the visitors centre for advice on the weather and activities. The house had a wonderful fire with plenty of dry firewood which kept us very warm in subzero temperatures.
