The Quack Shack is our fun, duck-themed 2400 sq ft, 2 BR, 2.5 BA cabin located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, bordering the Dixie National Forest, just 1.5 miles from the heart of Duck Creek Village. Enjoy the fire pit, try the slackline, play board games or just relax and watch a movie with our high-speed internet.

*We do not accept pets due to severe allergies

"We absolutely loved our weekend at The Quack Shack! It had everything we could have wanted; thoughtful amenities, tasteful and fun decorations, fabulous organization, and made our time as cozy as could be. I can't recommend this beautiful cabin enough and we'll definitely be back!" - Jevan, UT

"Had a wonderful stay at the Quack Shack. A rare occurrence when the accomodations are better than the description and photos provided. The cabin was filled with the essentials we needed and many personal details....The hosts were fantastic with clear communication and instructions, quick responses, and local recommendations....Would love to stay here again!" - Vince, OH
“Beautiful, super clean place. We loved it. Have stayed at 3 rentals in Duck Creek and this is our favorite. We will definitely stay here again in the future. Thanks Kim and Abe.” - Nick, IL
Main Floor:
On the main floor of the cabin, you will find a large cozy kids' bedroom with a sofa, 65” smart TV, games, puzzles and books. There is a twin over full bunk bed and another bunk that has been separated into a twin and full size bed. This room comfortably sleeps 4. All linens are provided. Directly outside of the bedroom is a split bathroom, meaning 1 room with a shower and a separate ½ bath. There is also another ½ bath on the main floor near the laundry room, this makes it convenient for multiple people to get ready at the same time. The following bathroom amenities are included: towels, wash cloths, a couple makeup remover towelettes, cotton swabs, hair dryers, makeup/magnifying mirrors, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and some Free & Clear detergent pods are provided in the laundry room with a full washer and dryer.

2nd Floor:
Head up the stairs to the second floor where you will enter the beautiful great room with vaulted ceiling and lots of windows. The bright, open kitchen has been stocked with all the necessities to make your stay comfortable: plates, bowls, cups, silverware, knife set, Greenware pots and pans, baking sheets, glass dishes, strainer, stainless steel mixing bowls, cooking utensils, measuring spoons/cups , can opener, stemless wine glasses, corkscrew, as well as the following small appliances: Instant Pot Duo for pressure cooking, slow cooking, making rice, etc, air fryer, waffle maker, toaster, hand mixer and blender. Other things we provide are avocado oil for cooking, salt, pepper, plastic storage bags, parchment paper, aluminum foil and some dishwasher tabs.

There is a coffee bar with a Keurig coffee maker and to get you started, is stocked with organic medium roast, dark roast and decaf coffee pods. There are empty pods and a coffee grinder if you prefer to bring your own coffee. A French press is available as well. There are some tea bags, raw sugar packets and half and half. There is seating for 6 at the island, as well as at the kitchen table. Off the kitchen is a deck with a grill, propane is connected and grill tools are provided.

Duck Creek’s clean, mountain water is safe to drink from the tap but a Brita water pitcher is provided if you prefer.

The living room has a large sectional sofa, gas stone fireplace, TV w/Roku, Checkers game table, and an assortment of board games in the drawers below the tv. This is a great place for the family to gather and relax, you will find extra throw blankets near the fireplace and in the bottom drawers.

The second floor is also where the master bedroom and bathroom is located. The king bed has a memory foam mattress for your sleeping comfort. There is a sitting area with a window seat, TV w/Roku and also a desk in the room, should you need a quiet place to work during your stay. We have Starlink satellite Wi-Fi with speeds over 100mbps. The bathroom may be accessed from inside the bedroom or from the hallway and includes a tub/shower and double vanity.

Outdoor space:
Outdoor entertainment includes a fire pit with fire wood and marshmallow roasting sticks provided, slackline, and daily wildlife sightings such as deer, squirrels, chipmunks, birds and more.

For your convenience, we supply some essential items but should you run out of things such as detergent or coffee, for example, the nearby Cedar Mountain True Value should have what you need.

Please note: The property has an exterior camera at the front entrance that records both video and audio for security purposes. This camera does not see inside the cabin.

ELEVATION: 8500 ft - you must drink more water to stay hydrated at the higher elevation and don’t forget the sunscreen!
ROADS: dirt/gravel off the main roads
WINTER (Nov. - April): 4WD recommended to safely get in and around the area

We highly recommend that you complete your grocery shopping before driving up the mountain, as there are limited options for groceries here. The True Value hardware store has a small grocery section in case you forget anything, and surprisingly there is a pretty good variety of products, but I would not rely on this for your entire trip. There are restaurants in The Village with hours varying depending upon the season and there is no food delivery to the area.

*** VISITING IN THE WINTER? November - April ***

4WD is recommended for getting around the area since most of Duck Creek is gravel and even when plowed, will still have a layer of snow that may get icy. Tire chains may be necessary depending on weather conditions and where you plan to go so please keep these in your car. The driveway will be plowed if there is over 6 inches of snow but since it is gravel, there will still be a small amount.

Please note that during the winter months:
~Highway 148 to Cedar Breaks and Brian Head can be closed due to high winds or bad weather
~Highway 14 may or may not have snow on it. The county plows do not plow at night and they start as early as possible to clear roads in the mornings.

Watch the weather and DO NOT TRAVEL IN WINTER STORMS. Do this before you go:
1. Download Utah's UDot app to view live road conditions with their weather cams. Select "layers" and then select "Snow plows" and "lane or road closures" You may zoom into Hwy 14 and view the live cameras.
2. Use Wunderground's website for weather zip code 84762

POWER OUTAGES: In the event of a power outage which frequently occurs during the winter months, we are equipped with a backup generator so you do not need to be without power!

SNOW REMOVAL: If it snows during your stay, your driveway will be blown out if there are 6" or more. The plow may only blow up to where your car is parked. There will be a shovel on the deck of the cabin should you need it.
