Nestled in scenic Hellgate Canyon, our home offers a quiet, relaxing, laid-back location, yet is less than 5 minutes from the excitement of downtown Missoula. Our home is a beautifully restored log house with new carpeting, newly refinished hardwood and slate floors, fresh paint, and new landscaping. Guests who stay here in the summer and fall will enjoy fresh apricots from our two trees! We cater especially to outdoor enthusiasts and families with small children, providing two bikes, inner tubes for floating the river or sledding, a high chair, a pack-n-play, and a stroller. We also provide extensive maps and information for those looking to get out and explore the area’s various biking, hiking, and skiing trails, as well as information about unique local events, restaurants, etc. For those coming to cheer on the Griz or visit the University of Montana, we are a short drive or bike ride from campus. If you like to golf, Canyon River Golf Course (voted one the best new courses in the US by Golf Digest, 2007), is only one mile away. Care to try your hand at fishing? The renowned Clark Fork River is less than one mile away, and the Blackfoot River is only about 5 miles further down the road. Missoula is also home to the Rattlesnake Wilderness Recreation Area, an incredible system of hiking and biking trails, just minutes from the house. When you return from the day’s activities, fire up the gas BBQ grill, sit out back on the patio, watch the sun set on the mountains - there's a good chance you'll spot elk or mule deer!, and revel in a great vacation. We hope to hear from you soon!

The location of this property is amazing. It is close to everything. Downtown is less than 5 minutes away, but we are far enough out of town that we can enjoy quiet nights with bright stars. The freeway is close enough to hop on and be at the airport or Reserve Street in 10 minutes, but not so close that we hear 'freeway noise' at night. There are countless outdoor activities that one can do either right from the front door, or a short distance away. It truly is the best of both worlds.
Thank you so much for the great stay! What a beautiful place you have here! Kids loved it as well!!
My family had such a great time in this cozy cabin. As much as Missoula has to offer, it was difficult to leave the house, because we felt so at home. It's obvious that the Clark family put effort into making this an incredibly welcoming stay for all. Some of the things I especially liked were: the toys provided for my little ones, the movie Frozen, and big sky cookbook. Lastly, Britt could not be any sweeter! Thank you!
Cabin is located on a small lot in a poorly maintained neighborhood! My wife and I did not feel safe there and opted for motel in Missoula.
Would not recommend.
As seniors with bicycles loaded for our annual Idaho/MT get-together, the cabin was perfect as our base this year -- authentic but (thankfully) improved and updated for comfort on all 3 floors. The yard felt private, neighborhood quiet and filled with fall color. Great bike paths and activities in nearby Missoula. Fully-equipped kitchen, front porch for relaxing, 2 bikes available (I used one 3 days). We were only 4 (+2 friends for dinner) so didn't even use large family- and bedroom downstairs. Overall, the cabin was clean, comfy (king mattress upstairs was heavenly), spacious, convenient - a very good deal. Worth noting, too, the owner was great to work with.
This cabin worked out great for us. It was just what we needed for the weekend in Missoula. Just right for small children and families! Thanks!
Our family spent the entire month of October in this adorable cabin while we waited to close on our new house. I have to say, not only was it perfect for our situation having absolutely everything we needed in a fully furnished home, but Britt is such a pleasure to work with. We have 3 children and Britt has definitely taken time to make this a comfortable home for families with children of all ages. The yard is beautiful and quite large and our little ones took full advantage and absolutely loved ❤️ playing in the fall leaves! Thank you Britt for such a wonderful experience! You certainly helped us make the transition to our new home much easier.
Very disappointed in the location of this rental. Advertised as a cabin it was a house with cabin decor in the middle of a residential neighborhood.
Other Activities: cross country skiing, snowmobiling, rock climbing, shopping, minature golf, kayaking, snowboarding, wildlife viewing, health/beauty spa
