Paroa Bay Chalet is well located for guests to enjoy nearby Russell (restaurants, cafes, bakery, shops, etc), Jacks Bay, Elliots Beach, visiting the local oysters farms and within walking distance of the fabulous Paroa Bay family run vineyard.
Russell is a small seaside town situated in the Bay of Islands. It is founded on a peninsula jutting out of the mainland and the perfect base for getting out on the water. With its rich marine wildlife (dolphin watching), clear blue water, secluded beaches, history and scenery, this area is one of our country?s most popular holiday destinations, and enjoys a fantastic subtropical climate. A comfortable 3 hour drive from Auckland, with great variety of visitor excursions, such as deep sea fishing and sailing around the beautiful islands (including Roberton island where Cook anchored in 1769)
Russell is also full of historical significance, originally called Kororareka. It was both one of the first permanent European settlements in New Zealand and the first site of New Zealand?s capital. From Russell you can visit the site of Waitangi, the location of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, which made New Zealand a British Colony

Stunning views both sides of the chalets, spa was an excellent and welcome addition! Very clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils and pots etc. bathrooms were of a high standard and the uninterrupted views were appreciated! One suggestion would be some more comfortable outdoor furniture and a table to be able to eat outside, but it won't stop me from returning! Thanks for a wonderful stay.
Paroa Bay Chalets are just awesome! By far one of the best places we have stayed. Very well appointed accommodation and Claire left us a bowl of super fresh free range eggs to enjoy during our stay which was a really nice touch. Super peaceful and not far from Russell. We really enjoyed our evening spa's. We would definitely come again with a family group and were pleased to see that number one chalet has mobility access. I highly recommend this place!
The only niggle, (and it is little) was the basins - so small and with the glass shelf it was hard to get your head in to wash a face or brush your teeth. Other than that it is well equipped, quiet, comfortable, has great views, a nice change from being at the beach. We would highly recommend for some quiet R and R.
Awesome get away for just the two of us! Amazing views, relaxing and quiet loved the spa and listening to the birds.
Paroa chalets are a top notch property in a gorgeous location. Overlooking native rain forest and the bays, the chalets are well appointed, dog friendly., north facing and spacious.
Beautiful location just out of Russell. Waking up to the vineyard view with a coffee and watching the sun go down with a cold beer was a great way to chill for a couple of days. The secret beach down the road is stunning. Chalet was modern and comfy with everything you could need =)
