This is a comfortable, unpretentious, home in west Petaluma. The streets are wide and tree shaded, and you are a walk or bike ride away from the historic downtown, the Theatre District and many local parks.
Dine out or dine in, or picnic in the back yard garden. Amble to the Farmer's market (Saturdays) and take your finds home to create in the vintage kitchen or just hang around the house and relax with the modern amenities of WiFi/ flat screen TV. Or pretend you're not connected, and play some board games.
You can catch a live act at the Mystic or the Phoenix, or stay home and jam on the piano or guitar. The walls are hung with local art and the organic cotton linens are fresh and new.
Take the scenic back roads west to the coast/Point Reyes, or east to the Sonoma and Napa Valley wine country; jaunt up to SF, or explore local history and antique stores -whatever your plans you'll find Petaluma a unique town that works as well as a destination as a starting point.
'The Old Country' was the term my children used for this house after they left home. Like immigrants to a new land recalling their roots, they always felt a connection to the house they grew up in. We hope potential visitors feel as welcome.

I really enjoyed my stay at Patricia and Jesse's home in Petaluma. It was just a few blocks away from downtown in a quiet neighborhood. I look forward to visiting again soon!
This home is clean and lovely. The one twin bed is a little short and on wheels so it is good for a child, not so much for a teenager. Knowing the review on the twin was helpful to me because I brought an air mattress to avoid complaints. Patricia is very pleasant and easy to work with. We enjoyed our stay at her home. We were there for a horseshow so we weren't there during the day to enjoy the town of Petaluma. If we had more time it would have been nice to walk around the town.
We had a wonderful stay! Patricia and Jesse are so nice. Cute home very close to downtown. Would definitely stay there again!
Patricia and Jesse could not have been more accommodating. The place, 200 yards from our son's home, is perfect for us. We grilled out three time during our stay and each one was better than the last. We plan to return next year, if possible.
We really enjoyed our stay in this quiet and spotlessly clean cheery home. The house itself has great vintage appliances and fun pieces of art throughout. There is also a garden that has abundant fruit trees and a very entertaining outdoor cat (my daughter called him Bob because he looked like a small bobcat). It was a convenient walk to town center. A delight.
Sadly we only stayed at Patricia's house for 2 nights , we could have stayed for much. much longer. She met us at the house at the agreed time and filled us in on many great places to visit. Booking, payment etc was totally straightforward. We had a lovely evening visit to Reyes Point then a great day touring Bodega Bay, Goat Rock Beach, swimming in the Russian River and finally a wonderful walk in the Armstrong Grove Redwood reserve. This is a lovely part of the world and we could have done much much more in a longer visit but we had a great couple of days. In the evenings we bought food in Petaluma and cooked big meals in the amazingly well-equipped kitchen. The house is amazing, so spacious and comfortable. with slightly old-fashioned but totally serviceable appliances and reliable wi-fi. We stayed with our 2 teenage/grown up daughters and there was plenty of space for all of us with the extra bed in the second bedroom. The house has a very homely feel having indeed been their family home for many years. We would have loved to have had longer to relax in the prolific garden (complete with sofa, swing seat, garden cat and fresh nectarines off the tree) . We would also have liked to have had longer to explore Petaluma which seemed to be an understated, interesting, relaxed and no-too-touristy town. We did a little bit of early morning exploring courtesy of the shed full of bikes of all shapes and sizes. We can thoroughly recommend Halley's diner for fabulous breakfasts! We would really love to come back and stay for longer next time. thank you so much .
We are half a mile from historic downtown Petaluma. We are also just a few blocks away from the Petaluma Boys and Girls club and McNear Park, both of which offer many free recreation options from public tennis courts, to soccer, basket ball, softball, children's play ground, and after-school kids programs.
