About Charlotte McIvor

We love all the UP has to offer and we are especially smitten with the small harbor town of Grand Marais as well as the beautiful area and the unique Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Hiking the North Country trail is a favorite pastime of ours. The wildflowers are numerous and amazing, as well as the waterfalls and beautiful vistas. The dunes are huge, the lake is clear and cool.

Perfect for our adventure

This house was perfect! Excellent location close to town, had everything we needed for our stay. House was clean and cozy for our group. Check out the falls nearby, the log slide and do the pictured rocks boat tour if the weather cooperates. The fall colors were phenomenal! We hope to return!

Campbell St Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cottage! Very cute and clean. Loved the decor, it went with the theme of the town of Grand Marias. It had everything you would need if you wanted to cook a meal at home. It is walking distance to Lake Superior and Brewery which had good food. There were people in town from all over the country. we took a short drive to Sable Falls and hiked down to the beach. Saw a bald eagle and looked at all the stones on the beach. All n all it was a wonderful stay. Highly recommend this place.

Fantastic Week in Grand Marais

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week 9/8/12-9/15/12 in this lovely cottage and had a wonderful time. The owner was very nice and accommodating. The town is charming and very quiet except for the heavy equipment running new waterlines that week, LOL! The cottage was clean and it had everything we needed for the little bit of time we spent in it between rock hounding on the beaches, hiking, photographing amazing scenery, and enjoying nature. Pictured Rocks was amazingly beautiful and our unplanned journey to the Crisp Point Lighthouse (following an arrow sign with a picture of a lighthouse) was a unexpected highlight. The food was good at the Lake Superior Brewing (across the alley and 2 lots away from the cottage) and the Sportsman's Main Stop (a block further) had a fantastic steak. You do have to travel for more than convenience store groceries, but we had brought a good bit and were able to make due with just a few fresh items. We bought several items at the local shops, including a ton of agates from the local rock shop. Memories and photographs of the sunsets on the local beach have thrilled me for the year since our trip. Thank you for a great location and a fantastic vacation! Can't wait to come back!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review of our little town and the cottage. And you remind us, we still need to get out to Crisp Point. So much to explore!
