Our Cape Cod home is right across from Crescent Beach. About 300 yards from our home there is a smaller beach called Kettle Cove Beach. Both beaches have their unique characteristics: Crescent Beach is about 1 mile long crescent shaped. The beach is sandy in spots, other spots have rocks. Kettle Cove Beach has tidal pools when the tides are out--perfect for children looking for crabs, periwinkles and such.

There are hiking trails at Kettle Cove Beach, Crescent Beach, Great Pond Trail, Stonegate Trail, etc.

We have Kayaking, Cruises, Sports, Museums, etc. Please contact me and I will give you a list.

We have 3 lighthouses: Portland Head Light at Fort Williams State Park, Two Lights State Park & Lighthouse (one light house is run by the coast guard, the other is a private home., shopping and restaurants all nearby.

We are close to Portland--7 miles; Boston, MA -- 100 miles, New York City 320 miles, Montreal --268 miles, Hartford, CT -- 182 miles, Manchester, NH -- 78

Attractions: Kayaking: Audobon Nature Preserve in Scarborough, Maine Island Kayaking, LL Bean Outdoor Adventures Classes in Portland & Freeport. Cruises/Sailing on Casco Bay: Caso Bay Lines, Portland Schooner Company, Mail boat to the islands in Caso Bay, School of Ocean Sailing and many more. Lobster Boat Cruses: Lucky Catch Cruises. Duck Tours (it is bus/boat that goes on the water and land) Fishing Charters: Maine Salt Water Fishing, Capt. Keith Hail Fishing Maine Fishing and Diving. Whale Watching: 'First Chance Whale Watching' There are many more beaches and coves around the area.


Note: In front of our home there is an island called: Richmond Island. Pls ck out ram island farm site. You need permission to go to the island.

Attractions: Museums: Portland Museum of Art, Children's Museum, Southworth Planetarium, Portland Harbor Museum, Tate House Museum, Winslow Home House, Longfellow's childhood home. Portland Sea Dogs (minor league baseball), Portland Symphony Orchestra, Portland Ballet Company, Portland Stage Company. Narrow Gauge Railroad.

Golf Courses: Sable Oaks - South Portland, Dunegrass - Old Orchard Beach; and many more within 20 min of our home.

Shopping: Old Port Section of Portland has very unusual shops and great restaurants. Maine Mall in South Portland. Outlet shops in Freeport, ME (LL Bean store),

Other interesting towns: Scarborough, Brunswick, Yarmouth, etc. all nearby.

June: Old Port Festival; July: Fourth of July Festival fireworks over Casco Bay. July: Yarmouth Clam Festival; August: Beach to Beacon 6.2 mile race from Crescent Beach to Portand Head Light. October: Harvest on the Harbor on the pier (GREAT!!) AND MANY MORE EVENTS!

Farms and Grocery Stores: Cape Elizabeth Farms: Jordan's Farm on Wells Road - veg. & fruit. Alewives Brook Farm on 83 Old Ocean House Rd - fresh lobsters, veg., & fruits. In July go around the corner & pick strawberries at Maxwell's Farm. Spurwick Farm has their own cattle - fresh frozen meat - 500 Fowler Rd. Grocery Stores: Pond Cove IGA. South Portland- Hannaford's & Shaw's. A wonderful store that I frequent: Micucci Grocery Store in Portland Italian produce retail & wholesale. Whole Foods Mkt in Portland. A wonderful little mkt in Munjoy section of Ptld--Rosemont Market & Bakery.

Places to eat that I found in Portland: I found Duck Fat delicious fries & sandwiches, Hot Suppa -- great brunch (not opened for supper), Local 188 and Five Fifty-Five -- all very nice. There are a lot of nice restuarants these are just a few.

On the first floor we have a little den across the kitchen. On the first floor you have a living room, 1 bedroom, 1 full size bath, 1 den and kitchen.

Great Location! House is well designed for family stay!

This three bedroom home made a great family stay for ourselves and our daughter and family. We stayed in the downstairs bedroom and our daughter's family had the upstairs to themselves. The full bath up and down was very convenient. The washer and dyer were wonderful. The kitchen appliances were new.

The house is located adjourning a park and swimming beach. The view from the front of the house cannot be beat! There is also a lengthy beach to walk.

Highly recommend!

About Bill, Rochelle and Evan

Rochelle and her husband Bill inherited the two Cape Elizabeth houses in 2002, from Bill’s late mother who had purchased the properties between 1968 and 1972. Bill had vacationed there with his parents since 1948 and when the homes went up for sale his parents were eager to immortalize the fond memories they’d made over the years. Many years later, Bill and Rochelle married and with their son, Evan, they continued taking trips from their home in Connecticut to the houses in Maine during the summer months. Now retired, Rochelle and Bill reside in Mississippi, and Evan remains in his childhood home in Connecticut, but they still make trips up to Cape Elizabeth whenever they can spare a moment.

Why Bill, Rochelle and Evan chose Cape Elizabeth

While Bill had been visiting Cape Elizabeth since his childhood, it did not take Rochelle long to become quite fond of the bright little seaside village. Since her first visit in 1972, she became enamored with the remote beauty of Richmond Island, the rocky shores of Kettle Cove, and the ever-changing atmosphere of the nearby city of Portland. Both passed on their love of Maine to their son Evan, who through countless visits came to appreciate Portland’s renowned restaurant and beer scene, the small family farms of Cape Elizabeth and the overall hospitality Southern Maine has to offer. He now vacations there as an adult with his family and helps his parents oversee the Cape Elizabeth properties.

What makes this house unique

A relatively new house, this 3 bedroom, two story house replaced the petite ranch house that used to sit on the property before 1995. Ideal for a family or a small group of couples, this beach house is the perfect blend of spaciousness and simplicity that complements the ocean that sits before it. The fireplace and hardwood floors give it old world charm while the roomy kitchen with its ocean view makes cooking seem appealing to even the most domestically challenged guest. Both upstairs bedrooms provide postcard worthy views of the nearby coastline and for the non-early birds, the downstairs bedroom offers shelter from the strong morning sunlight. All it’ll take is one morning of waking up to the sound of waves crashing against the shore, one afternoon of strolling through the tree-lined paths winding around Kettle Cove, and an evening of walking the moon lit sand of Crescent Beach for you to fall in love with this amiable little house in Cape Elizabeth.
