Quiet house in great location

  • 4 of 5

I stayed at the Dolphin House with my husband, mother, brother and sister-in-law. We were there for 5 weeks. The house is very comfortable including a nice screen porch. We cooked most of our meals in the house and found the kitchen well equipped for our needs. The living room had plenty of comfortable seating for 5 of us and there are tvs in every room.

There were some small problems such as missing light bulbs but the owner reimbursed us for our added expense. After we had trouble getting answers from the rental management, the owner gave us her information and told us we could contact her directly.

The house is not fancy but if you are looking for a comfortable place to relax in a quiet location close to the city, I would recommend Dolphin House.

Owner's Response: I looked into this and this unit is not on our full-service line up which means the bulbs are supplied by the owner rather than us. It sounds like he took care of the problem once he was informed. It's unfortunate the communications were crossed somehow. If we were contacted, we would contact the owner so I'm not sure what went wrong. We are glad to hear these guests enjoyed their stay, especially such a long one, which sounds nice.

A lovely home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

Dolphin House is a charming place. I have enjoyed my stay here immensely. In general it is well- equipped, and we have utilized the kitchen facilities to the utmost. However, We have found the low wattage of the light bulbs - plus the complete lack of working bulbs in the lamps - a real detriment, and we had to invest in replacements and upgrades. However - this has been one of the best locations we have had for our vacation rentals, and over all we are very pleased!

Owner's Response: We always respond when guests let us know about such issues. We care a great deal about the quality of stay. We regret the bulbs were a problem and our maintenance team has been notified. On the up side, it sounds like these guests really enjoyed their stay, which is fantastic.

Great location for walking on the beach, but not on the beach. Quiet and comfortable house

Owner's Response: This is a nice house in a beach neighborhood. You actually get more space because it's not beachfront, so its a pleasant trade off, especially since it's close.

Quiet neighborhood

  • 3 of 5

Pros: The neighborhood is very quiet. The rental agency is great, easy to find and very nice people. Probably the best welcome package e've ever gotten, with all sorts of arcane information. The house arrangement is excellent, all beds large and private and quiet. The interior artwork and decor are very nice. Angelos Pizza is arguably the best pizza we've had since Rome, with excellent salad and fast delivery. Perhaps a small issue, but the ice maker was full, something we NEVER find. How nice to be able to have a cold drink right after unpacking. Very nice patio area, in winter. It gets afternoon sun which is nice in January, might not be so nice in July, but in July you would have an extended cool morning.

Cons: This is the only place we've rented in 30 years that didn't provide coffee, make sure to bring some. There apparently are problems with the air conditioner and refrigerator. The A/C has large notes saying it freezes up, which could only happen if it's low on freon. The weather was cool during our stay, which usually exacerbates low freon, but we didn't have problems, so maybe it's been fixed. The 'fridge has a note saying it can't cool if filled, indicating a worn compressor, but it worked fine for us. The house was absolutely spotless and well appointed. We found the jacuzzi almost empty and cold, but it worked OK, though we lost a day waiting for it to warm up.

We liked the place, our third rental on CW Beach. All of them have been great, this one was the quietest and best fitted, and most expensive.

Beautiful property, feels like home away from home

  • 5 of 5

The dolphin house was a gorgeous condo that very comfortably fit the four of us, but could easily have fit more. The bedrooms were all furnished with lovely themes, and were lacking in nothing. There was ample closet space, and the beds were incredibly comfortable and spacious. The bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking ware, from pots and pans to a blender and toaster oven. The closets were well supplied with first aid equipment, tools, beach chairs, and towels. We forgot to pack a few things, but the condo had them for us. The jacuzzi on the porch was a much appreciated addition, and the yard was surprisingly large for a rental property!

The condo was a short walk away from the beach, and was far away enough from the city that it was quiet and peaceful, but close enough that it was a nice walk.

The four of us who stayed at this property are college students, so we were stunned at how luxurious it was for the low price that we paid. We have absolutely no complaints, and are planning on staying there again in a year.

Didn't want to go home!

  • 5 of 5

We as a family we planned a family memorial for our dear Mother(grandma). Planned as a true family vacation. All of our children were born in Clearwater. (We now all live in the Northeast) All ages 60 to 2. Just a short walk to the beach. Many things to do at night with this lovely home as a family base to meet and relax. We even had the memorial lunch at the house after the service. Close to perfect. Had a small problem with the AC called the rental office and a service tech was out the same morning.Plenty of towels and was very nice to have a washer/dryer on site. Loved the key pad. Set it to a personal code and NO key worries. Would come back any time and refer to friends. Loved it,Loved it. Didn't want to go home. Close to airport, shopping and great restaurants. We had the best vacation. As a family we try were hard to plan a family vacation every 2 years. This was a big winner!
