We wanted a cabin in a private area, with beautiful views, and near the national park.
We rented this house for the Holidays 2015. It was a great place to stay. Our immediate family and extended family stayed for 5 nights over Christmas. We had 6 adults and 2 teens and 1 infant. It is a very cozy but roomy home. We all had beds and separate living space. It has everything you need and the owners are very responsive to questions. It is walking distance from a National Forest. We had lots of snow while we were there. You will definitely need a 4 wheel drive in the area in the Winter. It is about 20-25 minutes from Granby Ski and 45 minutes to Winter Park. I would highly recommend this rental to others.
We are Grand Lake veterans and have stayed at many houses in the area. It's somewhat of a tradition to go here for my wife's birthday in the fall. Over the years our family has grown and I needed to find a bigger place to fit all of us. The photos of this home and the reviews were outstanding. But it wasn't until we got there that I truly knew how good of a job I had done in picking the birthday weekend location! This home has everything! Views, space, amenities, and was surprisingly close to the town although it felt private and secluded. Our entire family enjoyed the stay and my wife said it was her favorite house yet. After 10 years that's saying a lot! The best part is the friendliness of the owners. They have done such a great job building a dream vacation home and I can not tell you how greatful my family and I were to stay there. Just to tell you how great they were my niece had accidentally left her favorite blanky there and we were long gone by the time anyone realized! After requesting the owners assistance they promptly found her favorite blanket and sent it back to us overnight! The act really went above and beyond what I would have actually expected. This is our go to house in Grand Lake now! I just hope I didn't spill the beans to much on this unique and beautiful place.
My family and I stayed here for a weekend getaway, this cabin is huge, lots of bedrooms, great decks to sit outside and very kid friendly. The owners are also great to work with. I recommend the cabin to anyone who is looking for a getaway to grand lake.
We stayed with 2 of our adult children and their families, so there were 6 adults and 2 pre school children altogether. The house is very nice with nice sized and nicely furnished rooms. It included a well equipped kitchen, large front and back decks/porches. The location was convenient to Rocky Mountain National Park Grand Lake entrance, which was the primary attraction for us. We were entertained for hours by non stop hummingbird traffic, a marmot, and even had a couple of moose wander through one afternoon. The owner, Nikki, was very responsive and intent on ensuring our needs were met. We would definitely stay there again.
We rented the cabin for our Rocky Mountain get-away with our adult children and grandkids, nine persons in all. It met and exceeded our expectations in every way. First of all, it is very family friendly with a multitude of outdoor activities nearby for the daytime and a nice spot for a campfire, the hot tub, and many family dvd's for the evening.
My wife and I have rented a number of places over the years and one thing that stood out is that as opposed to many rentals, the owners listed things to do for an enjoyable stay, rather than citing all of the things that are not permitted.
In addition, the property's close proximity to Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park is very convenient. Our family is already asking when we can go again, which we will undoubtedly do in the future!
This cabin met our expectations and surpassed them. It was larger than the photos made it out to be. Decorated in a very rustic fashion, there is a lot of small things that made it feel as you were being welcomed into someone's home rather than simply renting a cabin. I can't emphasize this enough; it had such a wonderful feeling of welcomeness.
The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked with fairly modern appliances and great ceramics. The spice rack offers great coverage of basic spices. It was a beautiful kitchen that was a pleasure to cook in.
We rented the cabin for a week and had eight adults during our stay. We never felt crowded, even when we all gathered in the kitchen during dinnertime. There was plenty of areas to retire as smaller groups as well as a plethora of DVDs to watch after a long day. The downstairs closet was also stocked many many blankets, in case anyone was feeling cold.
The scenery around the cabin is spectacular, with a great Rocky Mountain view right in the backyard. The backyard was also rather large and open. The crisp mountain air was wonderfully refreshing and the taxidermy animals (especially the fox in the basement) were beautiful. There are also a number of great hiking trails in the area which our group spend a lot of time at, not more than 20 minutes away from the cabin.
Nikki was also a pleasure to work with. She was always very responsive and effective when answering our questions and concerns leading up to the stay.
In the future, if I vacation in the area again, I would definitely rent from Nikki.
