Nice cozy two bedroom cottage nestled in a quiet area of Newfound Lake with beautiful lake views. Enjoy sun all day on your sandy beach (semi private just shared with one other cottage) along with a place for your boat (mooring or dock). Living room, eat in kitchen, one bedroom with a queen bed and closet with built in shelves, second bedroom with bunk bed and a single bed also with closet with built in shelves. In the evening unwind on your screen porch, grill and enjoy dinner with beautiful views of Newfound Lake. Hiking trails close by and nice fall color.
This place was exactly what I was looking for and more! The cabin has obviously been recently renovated and is in perfect condition. Sitting on the screened in porch, you can see Newfound Lake just through the trees. The walk down to the lake was very short, and there were two different paths to get there. Everything was super clean, and the furniture was new. The bed was very comfy to sleep and it was very quiet. The grill for cooking was right outside the side door in front of a huge rock that was like a wall…very cool. There was also a yard to the side of the house that was very private. There was a quaint General Store with Post Office attached to it right down the road. All in all, a great place to stay and I look forward to returning soon!
Very nice cabin! It's like new inside. The cabin is about 100' from the beach, which can be reached by going down about 20 stone steps, or by a footpath if you should be carrying a canoe (as I was). The screened-in porch is a great place to enjoy a drink in the evening, with a view of Newfound Lake through the trees. The property is very much as described. It's close to Bristol and Plymouth, for restaurants and entertainment. I'm looking forward to returning next year.
In a word: “delightful’. This cabin has obviously been recently refurbished and is as close to perfect for quiet time as one could hope for. It sits above the spectacular Newfound Lake, which can be seen through the trees and is a very short walk either down a set of rustic stairs built into the hill or down an inclined path if you are carrying a canoe or kayak. The beds are new and comfortable, the appliances all work and the cabinets are well stocked. The bathroom has a nice shower with plenty of hot water. The screened in porch is perfect for an evening of listening to the wind in the trees and doing nothing. Out back there is a stone patio with a HUGE rock acting as a wall and there is a gas grill for those who like to do that. It is close enough to several stores that you can pick up anything you may need but far enough out to feel you are isolated from the world. The only down side is in the morning there is some traffic noise from Northshore Road, but I really hardly noticed it. I want to go back!
Three of us stayed at this cottage and had a very enjoyable time and had good weather. However, parts of the description were very misleading and lacking important information. The description concludes with "... in the evening unwind on your screen porch, grill and enjoy dinner with sweeping views of Newfound Lake." From the porch, you can barely see the Lake! The lot is very heavily treed. The "sweeping views" are from the beach which is quite a distance from and much lower than the cottage. The description did not mention that there was a long field stone stairway that led down to the beach. The alternative to the stairs was a gully - which we used to get our kayaks down to the water. Also, the cottage was fairly close to North Shore Road and with the windows open, there was a quite a bit of road noise. That said, the cottage was clean and quite well appointed. Could have used a few more eating utensils and more coffee mugs (there were only 2 for a cottage that sleeps 5). We were aware that the beach was shared with the sister cottage. Fortunately for us, the family staying there were very nice and we got along fine. That might not always be the case.
