This was an outstanding spot to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was great! It was a little quirky in it's layout, likely due to the way it was built into the hill, but that added to the charm. Everything was clean and well-maintained and/or updated.

The deck on the front was a great place to enjoy morning coffee, watching the sun come up over the hills. Beautiful views. You can always hear the river running across the road, and the park makes for a great evening walk with paved walkways.

Most every review has mentioned the stairs. Yes - there are some stairs to climb. We admittedly were breathing a little hard after hustling our luggage up, but after the first trip, learned to take it a little easier climbing up. If you have limited mobility, this may not be the place for you, but on a fitness scale of 1 to 10, I'm definitely not a 10, and could manage it quite easily.

The bedroom was plenty big and the bed quite comfortable.

Location-wise, it was a little far for us to walk down to Pearl St, so we drove in. Part of that was due to some unseasonably hot temps while we were there. If we were slightly more ambitious, the bikes that are provided would have been a good alternative.

Speaking of the heat, there are a couple of air conditioners, which helped with that heat!

The only potential negative, and this is more of a trade-off, is the distance down to Pearl St. For many, that walk may not be an issue at all. And the benefit of being on the edge of town is the feeling of seclusion and being in the hills.

The owner did a good job of keeping in touch before our stay, and contacted us during our stay to make sure things were good.

I'd highly recommend it!

Great little get away. The mountain views and path along the creek are amazing. Bikes come with the house you can take a leisurely ride on the creek trail paved path for miles.

Regarding Property ID 369833 Mountain getaway

  • 4 of 5

The property was clean and very comfortable bed with great view and very close to good hiking trails. Very open feeling to house and property with no neighbors. Close and convenient to downtown Boulder but still has country feel. There are stairways from the street to the entrance so you do get a little exercise going up to the entrance. I would consider staying here on my next trip to Boulder, happy travels, Ken

Clean & well kept property

  • 5 of 5

We actually ended up staying in the property next-door courtesy of a free upgrade from Barry! Loved the location as it is on the edge of Boulder but close enough to receive a pizza delivery :-) Everything was clean, modern and cozy. The flowers and bottled water were an added bonus! The stairs are a little daunting but not undoable. Just have to keep that in mind as it may not be ideal for all travelers. Will definitely keep this property in mind for our next trip to Boulder.

Romantic Boulder Get-away

  • 5 of 5

I spent hours researching the perfect cabin for my first Boulder get-away with my husband, and I was thrilled when I finally found Barry's place. It had the just right combination of cabin feel mixed with modern everyday amenities, such as a dishwasher and luxurious linens. I felt pampered even though the cabin still felt cozy, homey, and unpretentious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the fact that we felt away from the city, but could still walk or take a quick drive into town, as the location is super ideal. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone interest in a unique Boulder experience.
